May 22 I had an appointment with the full eye exam. Since I was last there (and they did find my earlier eye appointment situations), my eyes have not changed. Dr. Tsai said my eyes have settled down. She did the full eye exam, and all is well. Dr. Tsai is an incredibly approachable, friendly, knowledgeable and patient ophthalmologist. P.S. The address is 1040 N. Mason Road (and signage indicates that), but it's in the Medical Office Building #2, second floor, on the campus of Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital.

I thought everyone in the office was professional and caring from start to finish. It cost me $7,780. Dr. Gira explained the procedure and the upcoming timeline (should I choose to have the procedure) very well, answering several technical questions with concise and accurate answers. I've been told by several doctors in the past that LASIK is out of the question for my extra-sensitive eyes with thin corneas and larger-than-normal pupils. I was comfortable enough to let Dr. Gira operate on my eyes, and the outcome was outstanding. I was scheduled to arrive at 6:30 AM. My surgery was at 7:30 AM and first follow up appointment was at 1:30 PM the same day. At 1:30 PM, my eyes were a little swollen, but I could see 20/15 out of both eyes! I had no eye pain during or after the surgery. A week following the surgery, during my final follow up, the doctor attempted to further correct my visual acuity using the phoropter (big thing that goes in front of your face with lots of switchable lenses), but could not do so because it was essentially perfect. Dare I say my visual acuity is now better than I can ever remember or could have imagined. I had to put drops in my eyes (three times per day) for 4 weeks following surgery, which stung a bit for a very short time, but it's 100% worth it to be able to see so well. The outcome was so impressive, I recommended my brother have his eyes examined and fixed by Dr. Gira as well.

Came in yesterday and had my eye surgery. I had been carrying Dr. Brinton's business card in my…read morewallet for years after my eye doctor said that he was the only person in STL who could correct my eyesight. I had a -10 eyesight so LASIK wasn't an option for me. I filled out the form on his website, received a call within a minute, they asked some more basic questions, scheduled me for an appointment. The appointment was extremely professional with great customer service. They are very upfront and honest about what to and what not to expect. They put everything in very easy to read writing, provide you with videos they developed (you'll recognize many of the staff members from your visit). Was I scared during surgery, absolutely. You just have to put your trust in him. You lay on a table, (in my case) you see a purple light and a white jellyfish thing and about four minutes or so later it's done. You sort of have "underwater vision" right afterwards but by the end of the night I was playing video games. The next day I was driving without issue and there was never any pain at all. 1000% recommended, wish I made the call years ago.

Several test were performed by staff and a lot of waiting in between. It was more like a cattle call. Too many people scheduled in one day. I remarked to the staff and also the Dr. who I didn't see until after 12:00 p.m. that the wait was far too long for anyone. I recommend scheduling less patients instead of trying to see an exorbitant amount of people to pad their pockets.

I reached out to the Des Peres Eye Center as a new patient. I called the location (Arnold, separate…read morephone number) where I wanted to have my appointment. I confirmed that they took my insurance. When I arrived at my appointment, I learned that it was at the Manchester location. After driving across town to the Manchester location, I informed the receptionist that I called the Arnold location initially, but they set my appointment for the other location, but never told me. And that even though there are separate phone numbers for the two locations, they both go to the Manchester office, but there is nothing noting this. She didn't seem to care or realize the confusion this would cause. I then handed her my insurance card when she informed me that they don't take my insurance. She explained that they take the medical insurance with my company, but not the vision insurance (this is an eye center). At this point, I cancelled my appointment and left. Huge waste of time!
