I inherited my grandmother's Seiko watch when she died many years ago. I loved wearing her watch, and was so disappointed when it stopped working. Changing the battery made no difference. I took it to a different jeweler and was told the watch could not be fixed, but he would happily get rid of it for me. I took the watch home and took it to Raphael. But I couldn't have been happier with the results. The staff was friendly and got me directed to the gentleman who runs the watch repair business. This guy have terrible attitude and rude. I dropped my watch last Tuesday to this guy because my watch needs new battery and one of the screw was missing on the links metal chains. I picked up my watch today and saw my watch metal link chains where he put the screw was scratches, so I asked him why it has scratches. Omg, his response was I don't know... your watch already had lots of scratches. I am not only mad how he scratches the links of the chains, but scratches where he changed the battery on the back. Plus, the screw that he should be fixing was not even the proper one. He just improvised it and forced it to my watch to fit that's it has too my scratches on the metal of the links chains. Then, I ask him.....Will it hold the link chains of my watch. Dang, his attitude was like I don't know and I can't guarantee w/ his loud rude voice. I am so angry that I did not say a thing and left. Please don't go to this guy. All my watches that he changed batteries have all scratches on the back. read more

UPDATE April 10, 2019 Rafael came to the rescue again as I had to have a battery replaced on another Timex watch. Apparently he is the only watch repair man located inside of a Fred Meyer Jewelers store (aka "Kirkland Time" at Kirkland Fred Meyer) around here who knows how to tear apart a cheap Timex watch, without having it fly all to pieces. One would think that his expertise would only be required on say, some expensive Swiss watch. And no marvel, as he does have a Swiss made watch case opener, which looks a lot like my watch case opener (see photo) that I showed him. But he was not impressed as it was not made in Switzerland. I wanted to find out if my watch case opener was the same kind that professional watch repair people use (apparently not). But perhaps that same pickiness is what allows him to be able to replace my battery in my Timex watches, when the Bellevue store could not,...twice. BTW, I did not try using my watch case opener (which I found in a dumpster) to open up my watch, and try to replace the battery myself, lest I have it fly to pieces on me. Besides, it only cost $16.50 to have Rafael do it. read more

Fast and Great service, grood prices too.

Worse than worthless! I came for a battery change and now I have no watch. Unfortunately there are limited options for those living in the areas, but I will be buying and sizing my next watch from Warren Jewelers in the area. I'm open to other recommendations as well please, but never coming back here. That's the gist, I'm out 300+ dollars on this watch. I just wanted a battery change, he noted a scratch on the face that was minor. He decided to investigate further and when I picked up the watch mentioned that he could order a similar face to replace mine for $60. I wasn't interested. A few days later, I noted condensation within the watch bezel. A few more days later, the face fell off. I brought it back in with the receipt and was blamed for waiting a week to come in (I have a job). I was also told that I had probably dropped it and it wasn't his fault (strange coincidence and result of a drop). He took no responsibility for wasting my time with all this and adding another small chip when the face fell off. I just asked him to glue the face back on. He glued the face back on and I thought that was the end. A few days later on taking the Water Resistant watch into the swimming pool it stopped working. This watch has been in the pool before. Hence, he doesn't know how to properly repair a water resistant watch. Hence, he shouldn't be trying to drum up more business with these kinds of services and should just stick to watch batteries and sizing, the easy stuff. Hence, he should have never touched this part of the watch without my approval. You get the point, all I wanted was the easy stuff and instead I have no watch now. read more

I have to say I was very impressed. I walked into the Jewelry Department at the Totem Lake Fred Meyer not sure what I'd find. There in the corner was a real "old school" watch repairman. He has a tiny little booth, but clearly has old-school skills. I have a very nice watch that is now 18 years old with daily use and abuse. The band was falling apart and they don't make them anymore. I hand it to the watch magician - he drops what he is doing - and in 10 minutes he's replaced tiny little parts, made adjustments, and I'm back in business. Total charge?? A very reasonable $6.25. It's a beautiful thing to find a craftsman when you want to repair instead of replace. read more

Great service at very reasonable prices. I have been bringing my elderly parents' watches for battery replacement there for years. Lately I have noticed that mechanical watches are also repaired at the shop. My 100+ yr old Longines needed service for a while. I must say the watch performance is absolutely perfect now! Since that I services my 2 Omegas and have only good things to say about my experience with Kirkland Time! It's the only place I go to now when my watches need TLC! Rafael Was great, I live in Vancouver Washington,Stayed with a friend in Kirkland for my daughter's wedding in Seattle. My watch battery had died, Brought it to him on the day of the wedding In the morning and he noticed the crystal had a chip In it He Asked if I Would like it repaired, The price was very reasonable but I didn't feel I would have the time , So I told him to go ahead and do the Battery for now . I did a little bit of shopping came back in about 15 minutes, Not only did he install the battery but he installed the crystal as well, the watch looked like brand new again. Thank you rafael. Whenever I have a watch that needs a new battery or repair I take it here. Rafael is friendly and fast, and if he's busy enough that the battery replacement won't be as fast as normal he quotes a time to come back and sticks to it, and he charges a fair price for his skilled work. He's a great resource for repair of more unusual watches. I have a pocket watch that I bought in Russia that wouldn't wind anymore. Rafael was able to get a part quickly from a friend of his in New York and fix the watch, making it good as new. read more

I came in for a watch fitting. He did a good job. I mean it is hard to go wrong. He took off three links. The only complaint I have is that I got charged $10.95 to fit my cheap Fossil watch. While my dad just the day before got charged only $8.00 for his 2x more expensive Seiko! read more
