Unprofessionalism at its best. Called today to update my insurance, as it changed Jan 1st. Gave Kevin in billing all my information for my husbands new coverage. 10 minutes later Kevin calls my husbands phone to tell him his insurance lapsed at the beginning of the year. I overheard them speaking so I got on the phone with Kevin and he told me what I had just told him about the change in our insurance for the new year. I repeated what he said about my husband not being covered any longer by the old insurance, unsure why he was calling to tell my husband what I had just called and taken care of 10 minutes prior. I said "so you're saying our old insurance is no longer good, right?" Kevin then says "listen. I can't do your homework for you..." wow. This was just the tip of the iceberg with Kirkpatricks. But noteworthy to say the least. read more

Looking for a new primary care doctor so a good friend recommended a doctor at this facility. I showed up 15 mins early and at the time was the only patient in line. There was one receptionist at the counter and two behind her speaking on the phone. I stood in line appx 10 minutes and not one time did anyone tell me they would be with me soon. In fact they said nothing at all so I checked my phone for an important message and while on the phone I heard someone calling my name. I told the receptionist at the counter that I had been here for some time and was told sarcastically that she was on the phone with another patient. When I told her they need a receptionist that just handles the front desk she really got pissy with me. Very unprofessional, but I'm going to give them one more opportunity and if it happens again, I'll find another primary care doctor. read more

I love Dr. Kirkpatrick. It's the office staff, in particular billing, that have made me decide to find someone else. They are incompetent, rude, and condescending. Not to mention unhelpful. And you have to go through billing to set up an appointment. Meanwhile, my husband is out of his medication which could easily lead to a heart attack. read more

I have had a chronic cough for 5 weeks and Kirkpatrick Family Care has given up helping me. I was given a few rounds of antibiotics an inhaler and a chest X-ray. I am still coughing with chest pain and they don't have answers for me. I had to schedule an appointment just to get my X-ray results... after 5 days!! They canceled my pulmonary test a day before I had it and couldn't reschedule me for at least a week and a half weeks out. I am constantly hung up on. The front desk staff is terribly rude, a bunch of bittered employees. There's only one MD there the rest are PA's and nurses. I was told I had a peculiar case then they washed their hands of me. When I demanded an appointment with the head doctor to try to get a referral so I can go see a pulmonologist, Dr. Kirkpatrick was a no show! Now I have to go to urgent care just to get a referral to get help. This place is ran terribly with no integrity or compassion for patients. Worst health care who never has a problem billing you just won't help you. read more

I have no complaints about the physicians at this office. My only complaint is for the receptionists at the front desk. I have witnessed them being rude and talking down to patients (including myself). Please, if you are going to work at the front desk of a business, you need to develop the ability to talk to people with a kind and empathetic tone of voice. My husband was humiliated when he had to bring in some "samples". The receptionists treated him like he was disgusting and told him just to throw his samples in the sink. He asked if they were going to label them and they responded "we'll get to them eventually". Like I said, no complaints with the care I have received by the physicians. Just please ask the ladies in the front to treat people with a little more kindness. read more

Dr. Britta Fischer is about the least personable doctor I've ever met. I could hear her talking about me outside the room, then she comes in and acts like she has no idea what's going on. She talked down to me, and made me feel stupid. It'd be nice to not leave an appointment feeling bad. read more

Dave Kirkpatrick has been the best dr I have went in my lifelong Illnesses. As well as l the other NP and Dr Kirkpatrick. They go beyond and make you feel like you matter and listen to you no matter what and never seem put out if you have more than one issue to discuss like other Places in Longview. Dave got me into the Mayo Clinic to be thorough and to make sure he was going everything possible to help me. They have almost all the tests, labs, X-ray all in one place so no running here and there. My husband was having heart trouble and Dr Kirkpatrick and Dave got him right in with a cardiologist and made him not work although he wanted to before appt. if he would have he probably would have died. He needed a Quadruple bypass and Kirkpatrick saved his life. I'll always be grateful to the kind and thorough staff and providers. read more

They have the very best doctors here and they always take the time to listen to your problems and explain how to alleviate them. They also helped me with expensive medications I could not afford. My problem with them was with the office staff. I have never quite understood how such an inept, rude and insensitive bunch of clerical workers can be allowed to ruin a really great medical practice but these ladies have found a way. The reception at this particular office is extremely insensitive. The management does not appear to want to hear about it, let alone correct it. The only reason I continue is because of the doctor. Dr. Kendra and her assistant Jenna are great. The practice is a circus. There is almost no communication between the Commerce Ave. and Washington Way offices. And from my understanding, this isn't going to change or seen as an issue. I've showed up to a scheduled appointment to be informed that my physician was actually not in that day and I "should have received a phone call." Frequently, the wait to be taken back to an exam room for a scheduled appointment can be 30-45 minutes after the scheduled appointment time. Their billing staff is quite rude and not helpful. I am glad I have switched to a different practice to receive medical attention. Although, I will miss Dr. Kendra and Jenna. read more

I really appreciate the care that I get from Dr. Kirkpatrick and his staff. He takes the time to listen to my concerns and goes above and beyond to make sure my issues are thoroughly addressed. I have been to other providers in the area who are rushed and don't seem to care about my needs or really listen to what I have to say. I never get that feeling from anyone at Kirkpatrick. It can be a busy place, but from my experience it's because they take the time to help their patients. I always recommend Kirkpatrick Family Care to my friends and family. There are just not enough employees to handle calls, see patients in a timely manner, and those that are emplyed there are so busy that any possiblity of that "Personal touch" is eliminated. I am pretty sure those that work there have good intentions but those intentions are lost in the hustle-bustle of that office. It seems that there is also a high turnover in providers. I think it is time for me to find another clinic. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Rich Kirkpatrick and the Kirkpatrick Family Care Clinic for over 40 years and am still in great health, mostly because of the care by Dr. Kirkpatrick and his medical staff. My life was even saved one time by a Kirkpatrick Family Care doctor due to a critical emergency. Without doubt, Dr. K and his clinic provide one of the very best medical resources we have available to our community. Even with all the economic and political threats today to health care systems across our nation, Dr. K still continues to provide the best possible medical care to patients that is available in small towns like Longview and Kelso. Anyone who complains about the KFC clinic just doesn't understand the complexities of maintaining a primary care practice with multiple physicians who treat multiple patients with multiple maladies. That it all works and works so well is a blessing to our community. read more

A strange combination of medical equipment that has been there forever and medical providers that last a year or two.

They have great providers and really great patient care they actually take the time to figure out what the issue is. I've never been anywhere where the providers really care about their patient. read more

I've been a long time patient. The reception at the Washington Way office can be trying, however the clinical staff is very good. I've been to 3 different providers all of which I thought were medically top notch. The providers may run a little late, however once you get to face to face, they take their time to solve your medical issues. read more

I agree with the other reviews about office management, its a mess! The reception staff at Washington Way office is rude, I love the commerce office. If I have the time to schedule my appointment at the Commerce office I always choose that office. The doctors do a great job with a difficult clientele, again, I agree with some of the other reviews, they take the time to figure out the problem. For those in the waiting room that means your appointment might be delayed. I would rather trade an hour in the waiting room for a doctor that sits down, is not in a hurry even when I know he should be, and takes however much time it takes to figure out what the problem is. I always figure half a day when I have an appointment. Luckily I like to read and the time in the waiting room gives me an opportunity to catch up on a good book. read more
