Spicy chicken Ramen is amazing! Favorite lunch spot in town, would recommend 5 out of 5 stars evertime.

I used to order their ramen (which was absolutely delicious by the way) a few years ago until the prices increased and hadn't been back until recently because I wanted to try something else (and starving by the way from fasting for a test) and was in the area. There's a tiny little free parking lot directly in front with 4-5 spaces and some spaces all the way in the back which was very cramped and full when I was there. I ended up parking in the free spots next door (much more spacious) for the flower shop and walked over. This deli has a ton of choices ranging from sandwiches, wraps, ramen, breakfast items and breakfast drinks, hot food to go (charged by the lb), Korean food, pre-packaged drinks as well as homemade looking drinks (ie teas, smoothies). Honestly I was pretty overwhelmed at all the options! I ended up picking #16 which was a grilled chicken wrap with 5 egg whites and turkey bacon. The chicken (a bit dry) needed some sort of flavoring like a sauce of some sort but it overall tasted okay because the flavoring was mainly the turkey bacon. I also got their japchae to go for lunch the following day which was very good. When waiting for my food, I was chatting with who I assume was one of the owners, super friendly and sweet by the way! I'll definitely be returning to get the ramen again and perhaps one of the homemade drinks! P.S. They close pretty early (2:30p?) so that kind of sucks. read more

Hidden gem alert. This hole-in-the-wall Korean deli was such an unexpected find. The Korean-inspired lunches are phenomenal, the place is spotless and every corner has its own unique personality. The owner is incredibly friendly, always smiling and you can tell he's a true foodie who draws inspiration from cultures everywhere. A one-of-a-kind spot definitely worth visiting. Love this little neighborhood gem. I just wish they were open a little later and on weekends so I would have more opportunity to enjoy. We tried the Dosirak combo with spicy beef and the Tofu Stew Soup with seafood. It was pretty good. Japchae was a bit bland. We ordered everything through Grubhub. If you're a fan of spicy, I recommend ordering the Soondubu (tofu stew) extra spicy. I ordered it spicy, and it it was a bit spicy. But I have a high spice tolerance so I wish it was more spicy. The seafood tofu stew came with imitation crab, mussel, little neck clams, larger clams, squid, mushrooms, and onions.The kimchi was good too. I didn't realize the Dosirak came with kimchi. I ordered another side of kimchi too, and it was good. I like how their food isn't too salty. read more

This deli is mostly American with a splash of Korean. Since it had Korean stuff on the menu I had to try something different. I ordered their kimchi ramen and a spicy tuna roll. The kimchi ramen tasted like a regular packaged Korean ramen and the spicy tuna roll was just canned tuna with sriracha sauce over them top. Today ladies and gentlemen I got the Pork Ramen; lightly spicy--and I am so glad I did. I have had my share of ramen, and this is one of the best so far. The amount of pork they give you is very generous in size and proportion. It is seasoned which adds flavor the the broth. The noodles are cooked perfectly as well as the egg. The area has an ok amount of parking ranging from a few spots in a front and a bunch more in the back. It can get alittle busy during lunch time but the staff are fairly fast. They have sample ramen you can try while you wait. I've tried the peter luger sandwich and beef ramen. The sandwich unfortunately does not taste anything like a peter luger steak. I was in the mood for anything other than the usual fast food that I have for lunch. After a quick search on Yelp, I found Kitchen Door. It's a small place, nowhere close to the main road, so I would have never known that it was there if not for Yelp. Place was small and looks like a deli inside. They had a lot of options, but I decided to play it safe and ordered the Beef Ramen. OMG IT WAS AWESOME! Whatever the opposite of bland is, this was it! It was spicy, but not crazy spicy. It had so much flavor. And for $8, the container was huge! They didn't go cheap on the beef either. The people at the counter and making the ramen were also nice. "Never judge a book by its cover," the English idiom that should be applied here as the outside of this place looks like an adult entertainment shop. It's almost like a speakeasy, because when I arrived here I was looking for the secret door to pick up my ramen order. I ordered spicy shrimp ramen, and it was the most mediocre ramen I've ever had. It was straight out of a top ramen bag with the addition of an egg, shrimp, and imitation crab meat that I not only didn't care for, but I also did not know would be in it. There was also nothing spicy about it. Aside from that, they seem to be the only deli of its kind in the area. Ding ding ding winner! Finally got to try this place as I was craving Korean food but hubby wasn't. Cant go wrong here with the variety. Small place but clean and friendly staff inside. Nice size salad bar, hot buffet with about 10 offerings, korean section and great deli area. Tried the Cesar salad and japchae from the bar and was happy with creaminess n quality of the Cesar. Japchae was bit below average - but hey cant expect much from a buffet. However, we were blown away with the Peter Luger steak hero. Flavors beautifully melded, thin tender beef slices on a perfectly toasted sesame dream hero!!! Hubby kept raving about it. Spicy chxn bibimbop was also spot on good. Kitchen door is by far the most versatile lunch spot I have been too. If you're in the mood for anything, they have it. From Korean to Japanese to Mexican to American, absolutely everything! I went school nearby Kitchen Door and whenever I'm out visiting clients in the area I always stop by. There sandwiches are amazing and so is their hot food. Recently I tried their take on Vietnamese Pho, and that was also amazing! If it's your first time visiting kitchen door, I would say go with the hot food and just grab whatever you think looks good. Then next time venture out. As for things that aren't perfect about kitchen door, there are only two. They close pretty early and could be open a little bit later for those who want to eat before a night class or after work and some of their meals can get pretty pricey. I stopped in here for some quickie "Hangoong eum sik" on a recent visit to Long Island. After reading the reviews I was skeptical but sure enough this deli includes typical white boy deli fare and several different typea of Korean food including bibimbab, lamyawn and dawkbab. I ordered the vegan version of the lamyawn and it was almost as good as the one we make at home with Neoguri noodles. They put some spinach in there. It comes qith a slice of lemon and also squash kimchi as a ponchon. The soup was really hot and vaporized my hunger, and I only had to wait about five minutes for it. I will definitely be back sometime when I am in the area. Egg sandwich for breakfast and Korean food for lunch, what could be better than that? Don't answer! Best Korean deli on the island. I stumbled across this place a while back and have been loving it ever since. The food is fantastic. The outside looks a bit odd (such as the sign) but don't let that deter you from going in. This little hidden gem gets packed (for all the good reasons) during the lunch rush and with only 2 small tables at the front, most people just order for pick up or eat in their cars on the side parking lot lol. The have both a hot and cold buffet bar with lots of variety (both American and Asian), but my favorite and go to is their Bibimbap. The dish is served in a bowl and features rice at the bottom with an assortment of vegetables and meat on it. Then an egg on top and a side of miso soup and Voila! Your taste buds will thank you. I've been here twice And came for the salad, both times were great and you can really load on the toppings and still only pay around $8. My two friends loved their sandwiches and if you pay the extra $1 to get it on a hero the sandwich is rather large. The people who work here are very nice. They told me its a new deli that opened 2-3 weeks ago, therefore I gave it a shot. I received a warm welcome from the employees there, which was unique compared to other deli's I have been to. I thought it was very interesting how they served American style sandwiches and Korean cuisine. My friend ordered a spicy pork bibimbap, which is some kind of Korean mix rice. In accordance to my friend, it was flavorful, slightly spicy, and satisfying. Almost as good as the Korean food in K-town, Manhattan, but not as expensive of course. Then, I ordered a roasted beef swiss cheese sandwich, which was rich in flavor, yet light, and delicious. Both of us agreed that the food wasn't too heavy, it was very satisfying, and appetizing. Everything was reasonably priced and much cheaper than expected. The deli seemed clean, which is a big deal for me. The employees were very friendly. I am definitely coming back to this deli.
