EAST NORTHPORT, NY 11731 / KOREAN / 07-17-24 / DINNER +The customer service was excellent. +They grow their own Korean vegetables on Long Island right in front of their restaurant. The perilla leaves and Korean green peppers were amazing. Make sure to ask for them and wrap them with your lettuce leaves. +They use charcoal to grill your meats, which adds to the original Korean BBQ experience. +All of the side banchan dishes are legit some of the best I've tasted. +The restaurant dining area is spacious and clean. +The layout of the restaurant is pretty nice and not too noisy. +The meats were well-marinated and the quality of the cuts are good. +This is a legit traditional Korean BBQ restaurant better than what you would find in Flushing, NY right on Long Island (Commack). -The hot stone mixed rice bowl wasn't as hot as I would have liked, so I didn't get the crispy, near-burnt rice called nurungji. I like to have a thin layer of nice and crispy at the bottom of the bowl to scrape out throughout the meal, to enjoy some crunchy texture while sampling a spinning table of flavors in every single spoonful. -The soups were a little too salty for my health. -The soybean soup could've been better, a little too greasy from pork or beef brisket. This place was so good I came twice in a row, which is totally unusual for me. Wednesday was chill, but Thursday evening was popping. If you're ever in the middle section of Long Island, definitely go check this Korean restaurant spot out and give them some Yelp love y'all! Check out my food porn below.

Excellent authentic Korean bbq. They actually grow a lot of vegetables for korean dish, it doesn't get any freshier. Excellent meat as well. Everything is great about this place

Food wasn't bad, had the cold noodles and pork belly which usually traditionally comes with side lettuce wrap like last time. But this time they charged $5. Service wasn't attentive, didn't provide water and didn't feel hospitable. Overall the dishes I tried had flavor however for the price, it wasn't worth it especially when the service wasn't there.

Our first time at this restaurant --the second time at a Korean BBQ. The staff here cooks the food --at your table --instead of you doing it yourself. That is a nice thing because the meats were cooked to a perfect temperature --and you didn't have to worry about messing it up. The boneless steak was flavorful with a dipping sauce and wrapped in lettuce. The pork belly was nice and gained flavor as time went on. The dipping sauce for this was a nice salt sauce. The staff was friendly The garden in front is a nice touch as they actually serve some of the vegetables right from the garden -after it goes to the kitchen of course The crowd was surprisingly strong for a Monday night ... A full bar with lots of drinks A little expensive which took it down one star

Not many places to get Korean food except here and Hmart on the island. Overall: I don't know why the reviews are so sporadic. For the prices of the non kbbq food the Korean dishes and portions are perfect. It is the best place to get Korean food in Suffolk thats not H-mart. Food: came for lunch menu. The banchan was small though. Scallion pancake was huge for two people. The Rice Cake Soup was a big portion for two people. Had the Stone Bibimbap and it was a huge portion for me. The price is not bad for the amount you are getting. Service: The lady who helped us was super kind and was prompt with our questions and filling our waters. Inside: lots of space inside and was seated quickly during a Saturday lunch. There weren't that many workers but they were quick to help.

Can't wait to go back for a BBQ experience ... the food was really good very tasty , the picking stuff they bring to the table was a good treat. they make they own kimchi which was good . Most the time when I eat at this kind places I get so thirst but surprisedly I wasn't from here . The staff very friendly always asking if everything was ok .

Absolutely amazing experience and quality. Farm to table concept, being they have various vegetables growing in the front and behind the restaurant . Be prepared to have authentic Korean bbq, and want to make room to try their appetizers. They do cook the meat for you, but it does not take away from the experience and dinning. Service is amazing and friendly.

Hooray! Suffolk County finally has an amazing Korean Restaurant. I have been waiting so long for this to happen. The BBQ is charcoal which makes the grilled gogi meats more flavorful and authentic. We had beef bulgogi, Kalbi and pork bulgogi. We loved them all! The Banchan dishes were many-authentic and delicious- my mom would have approved of them all. The jigae and dolsot bibinbap were perfect. Service was outstanding, host was inviting and so nice. Will definitely be back. Thank you for coming to Suffolk County! Go try authentic Korean Food at this new establishment. The inside is modern and clean and there are many soju options. Lastly, you don't leave smelling like KBbq because the ventilation is excellent...

I love that they cook the food for you at the table, my husband is ok with either or. We started with Mandoo (pan fried beef dumplings) yum! For our meets to be grilled, we chose Bulgogi and Seang Kalbi Gui, it came with several small sides. My husband ordered several Màkku beers in the original flavor. For dessert, we had the most scrumptious cheesecake we've ever had. We were both surprised by how delicious it was and we wish we had ordered one for each of us. The Soon Doo Boo was very tasty and had a little kick. Not as much as I would like but very close to what I would expect. The Jap Chae flavor was good but it did not have any spinach and not enough of other vegetables; but as I said, pretty tasty. The place is pretty roomy so would probably not need to wait for a table. The rest of the food were mostly misses, the worst being the Kalbi. The flavor was a little too sweet but in a teriyaki sauce kind of way, not the Korean pear/sugar/soy sauce way. The seafood pajeon was too burnt and did not have any seafood, almost all batter. The banchan was ok but the kimchee was a little too ripe. Service was a little show because they were short staffed according to our waiter. So all in all, just not a great experience. I would probably be a little more lenient but prices are similar to Flushing/Bayside even though I would assume their overhead was lower.

There's a tiny little free parking lot directly in front with 4-5 spaces and some spaces all the way in the back which was very cramped and full when I was there. I ended up parking in the free spots next door (much more spacious) for the flower shop and walked over. This deli has a ton of choices ranging from sandwiches, wraps, ramen, breakfast items and breakfast drinks, hot food to go (charged by the lb), Korean food, pre-packaged drinks as well as homemade looking drinks (ie teas, smoothies). Honestly I was pretty overwhelmed at all the options! I ended up picking #16 which was a grilled chicken wrap with 5 egg whites and turkey bacon. The chicken (a bit dry) needed some sort of flavoring like a sauce of some sort but it overall tasted okay because the flavoring was mainly the turkey bacon. I also got their japchae to go for lunch the following day which was very good. When waiting for my food, I was chatting with who I assume was one of the owners, super friendly and sweet by the way! I'll definitely be returning to get the ramen again and perhaps one of the homemade drinks! P.S. They close pretty early (2:30p?) so that kind of sucks.

Once inside, you enter the best of what Korean BBQ has to offer. It's no wonder this establishment keeps growing - a new Commack location is imminent. No need to fear about speaking English - the staff speak better English than me! Speaking of staff - Nick was our server for a large group ranging from infant to senior citizens. He was patient with our many questions about the different types of meat and was ever attentive to all of our needs, both young and old. There aren't vents above the grills so the smoke can get on you and in your way (my friend was coughing and sweating a lot every time the smoke blew her way...). We tried the pork spicy bulgogi, spicy chicken, and chicken breast (plain). The marinades ran far too sweet for my likely so I ended up preferring the plain chicken and also didn't think the marinades were spicy enough. The spicy tofu soup was a great side option to have. The banchan were also all slightly too sweet for me, the soybean sprouts were my favorite mainly because they were not overly sweetened. The radish, daikon, and kimchi were all way too sweet and really tolerable for a couple bites. Also tried the grilled vegetables and bibimbap bowl for some additional veggies and rice. The service is quite good and their staff will help grill and check in on your food so you can focus on eating. The music here is a tad loud but you can still have a conversation. Per person cost was nearly $50 so it exceeded $60 per person with tip. Would only recommend if you can tolerate sweet marinades and can get your money's worth for that base cost.
