Their rep delayed until Tuesday 14 August, again delayed until Wednesday 15 August, and yet again until Thursday 16 August. And yes, their rep again ducked the meeting. They failed to show up. Why they not own up to their mistakes? We will not go away. Do they really want us to have to resort to further action to resolve this?

The contractor or his subs were on site every day. He was available at all times during the project to answer questions and provide status updates. The final project exceeded expectations and has greatly enhanced the living areas of my home. (Less than $50 sheet at Lowes) Water overflowed and damaged kitchen ceiling (another sub to fix) Installed Medicine cabinet that would not open due to hitting sink faucet. The delivery of kitchen cabinets were the primary driver to begin the process which were delivered in early April. The contract required the remodel to be completed between four and five weeks. On 22 April, the contractor began demolition which continued sparely throughout the week. On that Friday (25 April) we believed that the project would continue to move forward throughout the next week (the week of the 28th). Since no one showed up Monday morning, we contacted S&K and were told that nobody would be onsite Monday and Tuesday with no explanation. This practice continued off and on throughout the project which culminated in over 2 weeks of days when nothing was accomplished. This resulted in the period of performance to balloon from 4 to 5 to over 7 weeks. One of the outrageous claims was for 2 days that they didn't work because an unwarranted claim regarding my wife's heath. It appears that S&K is in need of significant improvement in the following areas: Communication: between the customer (not updating project process unless asked) and the S&K employees (arriving on site with no idea of current arrangements). Project Management: As described above, the project experienced many unproductive days. S&K does not seem to understand "project work arounds" when certain areas cannot be accomplished but other parts can. Quality Control: All project discrepancies/issues (plumbing, electrical and drywall) were identified by the customer and not S&K. S&K supervision never checked on site project status nor the quality of the work...both S&K and trade vendors.

After very minimal use (and no abuse) it developed chips in the formica in more than one location. Additionally a seam allowed water to penetrate and the top has swelled/buckled in a very conspicuous spot. Note this was all after just a couple months of light use. The company was unwilling to offer anything to us- replacement, repair, nor credit for the poor quality workmanship of the product. Needless to say I'd recommend not using Cherry Street for counters!
