The BBQ chicken and sausage were delicious staples, but our favorites were the boudin, brisket grilled cheese, and BBQ baked beans! The boudin had a great smokey flavor. The brisket grilled cheese was to die for and the BBQ baked beans were perfect. To top it off the price was on point. We will definitely be back and are excited to try everything else Dawson will make!

I recently tried their power bowl for lunch with Picanha steak. It was really delicious! You choose what toppings you want and they have 3 sauces to go on top. Do all 3 of them! The steak was tender. I made my bowl with brown rice, black beans, steak, cabbage, pico de gallo, the two cheeses, and the grilled pineapple. Absolutely yummy! My only complaint is the beans were a little al denté and could have been cooked a little longer.

Pork ribs, brisket, spare ribs: gonna group these all together because they were all a bit of a letdown... Brisket wasn't as flavorful as I thought it would be for a Viet BBQ place. Both the pork ribs and spare ribs were dry. I like mine to be falling easily off the bone. Smoked turkey: most and flavorful but a little too salty. Bo La lot sausage: it was pretty flavorful, but I think if they really wanted to elevate this dish, they should wrap the sausage in lolot leaves... so it's true to its name. Curry dish: this tastes like your typical Thai red curry paste from the can. Rice was also a bit dry. Banh Xeo: probably my favorite dish. Very unique flavor... fatty, rich, savory! I would get this again. Too bad it's so small! Vietnamese slaw: quite literally (barely) pickled cabbage... not sure what makes it Vietnamese... Bok choy: typical stir fry wok style flavor. It's good, but small portion. Overall, I was a tad bit disappointed. The marketing team does a really good job of making their dishes look so delicious. Chef Bham (previously from Alinea, amongst a few other baller restaurants) is a literal genius. The menu was a really thoughtful ode to various Filipino dishes with a little twist on each. You get the comforting tapsilog and taho that you might have grown up with alongside interesting flavors and ideas. Pandesal made into a tart crust, kinilaw made with daikon and beef...they also are very good at keeping in mind dietary restrictions: I was the annoying halal option, but, man did my experience rock. Pork belly replaced with enoki mushrooms or octopus, and the dish was still amazing. My sister was unfortunately gluten free, but still able to enjoy every bite. Because of the location, you get the experience of sitting with the chef and his team and that alongside them in almost in the kitchen. It's very cozy and different, and you learn a lot about each dish because of it (and his amazing team). I love Musaafer, but this may have become my new favorite high end place.

They made a Thanksgiving dinner for 90 employees on Friday of this past week and hand-delivered to our plant. Everything from the turkey and ham down to the fixings and the banana pudding was so delicious! It was all seasoned perfectly and the plant (always hard to please) was really impressed. Everything Cajun Smoke makes is seasoned to perfection and hits the taste buds just right! Marc is our neighbor and he occasionally sells plates. His diversity of food; Cajun food, BBQ, and holiday meals... all to die for! You have to try it!

I've had versions where the celery flavor is very prominent, but I thought this one had a lighter flavor since the celery had been chopped smaller. The rice had less of a bite than other étouffée I've had and was similar to regular rice, which I like. There was only (2) plump shrimps and several tiny but well-cooked crawfish in it, but I understand that's what is available right now. The shrimp and grits comes covered with a creamy sauce and slices of andouille sausage. I had a bite from my sister's shrimp and grits and thought they were pretty good but creamier than the other dishes. The grits were kept more basic as flavors of the sauce and meats were already heavy.
