The staff is communicative and kind. My favorite dishes are the pad kee Mao and the wings of paradise. Every dish is extremely flavorful! Used to come here when I was little! They really redid the place so well it's beautiful inside and so roomy. Their menu (especially drink section) has many new options to explore. I was feeling rather boring and got the peanut rama chicken because I always love a peanut sauce. Like always the sauce was delicious and the rice was perfectly steamed! Yellow curry was good as well but the fried tofu in it was kinda disappointing. My Butterfly pea limeade was lacking a bit in the sour or sweet aspect but it was very cute lol. I really wanted to like this place but I think ultimately I ended up disappointed. First of all, they've remodeled recently so the interior of the restaurant is definitely beautiful and has a more modern/elegant look. Unfortunately, I think the food is overpriced and not super flavorful, you can definitely get better Thai food for cheaper at other places in Sugar Land area. I got the red curry which was decently spicy, but it was difficult to enjoy because the rice portion they gave me with it was very small. The flat noodles were also just OK, with the portion for those being small as well. Mostly giving 3 stars because I really liked their Thai Tea, and it came in a cute bottle! Let me start off by saying that the food is okay for American food- but definitely not Thai food. So if that's what you're looking for then this is not the spot. I ordered the papaya salad and was a little disappointed when I saw lettuce and no dried shrimp- it was a bit bland. I also had the "three taste fish" on its own was good but the sauce was extra salty. In my opinion not edible. The sizzling beef wasn't too bad- but not worth $20. Small portion and bland. It took us several attempts to grab someone attention every time we would like to order more or to get a refill. - Crab Fried Rice ($22) was generous in portion with crab lumps. - Pad See Ew ($16) was a little smaller but well flavored. I personally found the appetizers more on the pricey side for their portions. - Tomkha Soup ($9) came in a small bowl (individual size). - Chicken wings ($9.5) came in 5pcs and were good! Crunchy covered in a sweet tangy sauce. - Chicken Satay ($9.5) came in 3pcs, pretty standard in quality and flavoring. - We also ordered Mango Sticky Rice ($9) -- not recommended. love love love thai cottage. i have been coming here since i was little and it never disappoints. the portion sizes are very shareable and i always end up with leftovers. this time my friend and i did the houston restaurant week and it was phenomenal!!! the hrw came with a free drink (filled two cup fulls) and three courses. i believe all portions are the same as ordering off the regular menu (when i come not during hrw it is usually the same quantity) the wings were very good and the duck curry was flavorful but a little spicy for my liking. the tamarind fish!!!!!! this was the star of the show no doubt. it was perfectly seasoned and crispy, and the sauce was a perfect sweet and sour balance. the mango sticky rice was good as well as expected and the mangoes were sweet despite it not being mango season. our server also gave 10/10 recommendations and was very attentive and kind. he even gave us wipes for our hands after eating wings! overall thai cottage will always be a 10/10 for me, the staff is always kind, food is great, and the prices are very reasonable! read more

Decided to try out another thai restaurant in town and came across Thai Cottage. The interior is very aesthetic and decorated nicely and the staff were welcoming and provided great service. We ordered the Papaya salad, Tom yum soup with chicken, and pad kee mao with beef. The papaya salad was mixed with peanuts which provided a nice crunch and mixed in a sweet and tangy fish sauce. The Tom yum soup included chicken and mushrooms which was a burst of flavor but was a tad bit too salty for me. The pad kee mao could have been more spicy and was not as flavorful as I would liked. I've waited months for them to clean these floors after me complaining, but sad to say they are still Disgusting! It's totally unappetizing. They mop the floors with a mop that looks like it's been dipped in mud. I've seen them bring it out during a spill. Their sister restaurant Silom Station also has white floors, but for some reason can figure out how to keep them clean. I've just tried so many Thai places in the houston area by this point and I can't compare this place at the moment to other 4 stars I've given to other Thai places. Pad kee Mao was pretty good but I'm used to Thai food packing on so much more flavor and I didn't get that "fresh wok taste" that some of my houston Thai food favorites usually deliver with ease. Wings of paradise is DELICIOUS though. These are without a doubt 4 stars, would be 5 if they had better portions. Interior is gorgeous and I would sit inside and sip Thai tea and be a productive twenty-something just for the aesthetics!! Thai Cottage has been here since I can remember. It's recently renovated to have an open and airy feeling. Wait to be seated at the door. The host is quick to greet you and get you to a table. The servers are also really quick. They have WiFi. Just ask for the password. Parking is available in the shared lot with the other retail spaces. There is never an issue with finding a spot. The food is really good. We've been back twice in 2 weeks. Our favorite dishes are the Pad Thai and the Pad Kee Mao. There are 3 levels of spice: mild, medium, hot. We typically get the medium. I work nearby, so I frequent this area quite often and always wanted to check this place out. I decided recently to stop by for dinner for two recently. The atmosphere was very nice, and the service was amazing. The interior was beautifully decorated. However, I wish I could say the same with the foods. Thai food is one of my favorite cuisines to eat, so with seeing how this place has decent reviews, I had expected something better than what we got. We ordered the Thai tea, tom yum, golden shrimps, pad kee mao, and yellow curry. For the Thai tea, we were served a Thai Village sealed bottle with a mug of ice, and I got extra milk with it; the Thai tea tasted pretty much like any typical Thai tea you can find at most places that serve it. The tom yum was actually pretty flavorful and slightly spicy. The golden shrimps were wrapped in egg roll wrappers and fried, but they did not have much flavors and were a bit on the saltier side. The pad kee mao with pork was not bad and was one of the better dishes that evening. I was really excited about the yellow curry with chicken, but it turned out to be disappointing; it was extremely bland, and it was not rich or creamy at all. For the price, I don't think it was worth it for what we got. We might come back here if it was one of those days had no idea on what foods to get, but it would not be something we would go out of our way for. read more

During COVID, I would always place an order here and get it to go. This is the first time dinning in at the restaurant and it was a totally different experience. The interior of the restaurant was very aesthetic and comforting. The high ceiling, the greenory decorations, and the big window created lighting that was very welcoming. I like how they made this drink conviene for Togo purposes by putting it in a bottle, but I feel like when dinning in should be presented in a jar. We ordered some lunch special and for around $12-$15 it comes with either a soup or salad and a vegetable egg roll with their sweet and sour sauce. The soup and egg roll came out pretty quickly. By the time we finished it, our entrees came out. We shared a pad Thai, red curry, chili paste, and. The pad Thai was amazing and very yummy. The chili paste dish was unique. The broccoli was a little over cooked, but the sauce help enrich the rice and the chicken was tender.
