I finally ate in shop today after having this place bookmarked for months (okay, years frfr). As soon as you walk in every customer is greeted in Japanese. My family and I were seated right away as a party of 4. Bach, our server, inquired if it was our first time or not and immediately gave us time to check out the menu. He came back timely and answered all the questions and offered suggestions upon request. My kids loved their kids meals!! It was so much food for them that they really could have shared. My kids loved that their meal came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream too! My husband surprisingly got spicy chicken ramen (even though he doesn't handle spice well). He had the option of choosing his spice level, but he said spicy relieved his congestion. I loved every bit of my flavorful bowl of pork ramen. I added wontons for an extra topping cost. I had to use the restroom, and I think this is the part that I dislike about Jinya. They only have two restaurants, one from men one from women. But that's not the real issue.The real issue is anytime you walk into Jinya, there's someone always in the restaurant and that someone is usually an employee. It's time to pleasure problem with this is that both restrooms were occupied by male employees. And when I went into the women's restroom, because they sat in there so long you could smell, they've been vqping. Can you build more restrooms instead of two. My gyoza came out and it was amazing. Hi ramen came out - don't look different. and tasted differently also from the last time I remember. Begin this is the first time at this location. Me and my family are regular customer out of convenience. Today was pretty bad ordered 2 tonkatsu black... around 15-17 dollars, was probably the worst portion size for pork chatsu I've ever gotten. Talking about size of one bacon strip cut in half. Honestly I wasn't even mad but felt very disrespected that the cook would even serve that portion and thought it was ok. read more

I've been here a couple times now. Once on a solo date and once with friends and both times I really enjoyed my experience! The service is fast and they are all really nice and knowledgable of the menu. The ramen is good - Ive tried the tonkotsu black ramen and recently I tried the servers suggestion of the spicy creamy vegan ramen (replacing the tofu with their Birria beef which came on the side, not in the broth) and that was super delicious and will definitely be my new go to! They also have sriracha, gyoza sauce, and seasoning sauce available at the table so those are also great additions! The drinks are really delicious as well and they don't have a lot of dessert options but there are a few nearby (most closing at 10). read more

We've been coming here for years and used to eat here almost every day during the winter. Unfortunately, the last two times, the ramen broth tasted like bathwater--watery, flavorless, and noticeably lower quality. To make matters worse, the bartender was rude while I was picking up our order. The manager was decent, but the overall experience was unacceptable. It's unbelievable how much this place has changed. Jinya's has really good ramen and soup. I always enjoyed each bowl, although it is a pricey bowl. I occasionally visit whenever I am craving it, but I've visited a few times alone when I am in my worst times, and it certainly makes my day better during the worst times. I've always enjoyed the spicy chicken ramen with a seasoned egg. The seasoned egg is quite expensive per egg but it's a must with ramen. The yolk oozes out, and the egg tastes savory and perfect. It's go big or not go at all so I always get the egg. I always try to drink most of the soup as well because it is so good. Really wish it could be more affordable to enjoy a bowl so we can go more, but alas, it would have to be an occasional treat. I also enjoyed the appetizer spicy mayo shrimp before, but alas, another price increase keeps me at bay. It almost cost close to a bowl of ramen. Do I want an appetizer or perhaps another bowl of ramen? I ended up getting the brocollini since I thought I needed veggies, and I can also put it in my ramen bowl to enjoy as well. I enjoyed the brocollini. Seating can be a bit crowded, but I've always been able to find a seat. If not, then you would be seated on the big table along with others, but its a big table so it's not likely you will sit next to people. Jinya is a Houston classic for ramen. The broth is flavorful and the service is usually pretty good. The environment is warm and the chain's success in expanding throughout the city and beyond is a testament to that. The Tonkatsu Black is my usual go-to. Unfortunately in my recent visit, I have noticed that they have fallen victim to severe inflation of prices, and I can't say that paying almost $17 for a bowl of ramen would be worth it anywhere. $9 for a few pieces of karaage also seems really steep. read more

Went last night cuz I was craving some kind of soup. It was pretty busy but we were still sat within a few mins of arriving. I got my usual the tonkotsu spicy sub for pork soboro. We also had the pork gyoza and broccolini. There was a small mix up with the broccolini but the manager was kind to offer to take it off the bill due to the wait. I've come here for weekday lunch recently and appreciate their quick service and friendly staff. Place is still pretty busy but easy enough to get a table for 2. This past time we sat at the bar, and I ordered the shrimp wonton ramen which comes with thick noodles and 5 wontons. My advice is to take the wontons out and put them back in when you want to eat it OR eat them really fast. My first wonton was perfect with lots of shrimp but then the rest of them I think got over cooked in the broth so they weren't as delicate. It's like eating Korean tofu soup- gotta take the shrimp out and eat it else it just gets kinda tough texture. Other than that, it was great and would definitely try again. I did notice that they have a kids ramen but it's like $12 which is not cheap for a kids meal. Came to this location for the first time! My friends took me here for the BD dinner I am a Jinya lover and very spicy on comments as I care about ramens especially vegan options. Today, I saw a new menu (Vegan red fire opal) and gave myself a try for my BD dinner Let me tell you, that was a big bingo to me! It was a spicy yuzu flavor which is a citrus that is native to Japan They put the spicy oil on side so I was able to control the spicy level. Saltiness, tartness, sweetness and spiciness was perfect! The amazing taste is guaranteed especially if you like tartness! I personally enjoyed it very much and easily 5 stars for me! Twas a very good dinner! My go to place for ramen in sugar land. I always like to order the tonkotsu black (spicy), jinya buns, and karage. The karage is always cooked perfectly and super crispy. Jinya buns, oh my. The soft, warm, sweet bao bun is enough to order this item but add on the fillings. Yum! The reason for 3 stars is because of my most resent visit my spicy tonkotsu black was lacking. It was not as fatty, spicy, or heavy as I was use to and the cashu was dry. The egg was cooked to perfection as always. I never have a bad experience here with the waiters. The staff are kind and helpful in terms of recommendations, and they do a cool thing with Thank You's! The place is smaller than I thought but it has tables for multiple dif sized groups. I opted for the spicy creamy vegan, and added some spicy sauce to give an extra kick. The ramen itself was good, broth was nice, and I loved the thick noodles. However, something about the tofu that day was a bit eh. I wish we could get fried tofu if that was an option! First of all the Ramen was amazing. I've eaten Ramen all over the world including Tokyo and this was top 3. Amazing flavor and spice! I always have issues with Ramen in the US being under spiced and many don't have any additional spice on the table. This restaurant had the spice. We had the Premium Tonkotsu Red and our waitress advised us to try the 3 out of 10 spice which I was skeptical of, but we took her advice. It was just the right spice for us and my wife is from Thailand and she likes spicy food. If not advised I probably would have picked #7 heat level. The cost of 20 dollars with delivery is way too much for two slices of chicken minimal veggies and not enough broth to cover the noodles. Beyond sad. Beyond inflation.
