The Café is located inside Valley View Casino to the right of their popular Valley View Buffet. It is open 7 days a week but only from 7:30am-2:00pm. My boyfriend and I have eatin breakfast here in the past, but we rarely visit the casino before 2pm. Yesterday (Friday), I decided to take my mom on a little drive and thought "why not brunch at the casino!?". We arrived at 10:15am, and there were many parking spots available in their parking structure - from the second floor on up. We walked through the casino all the way to the back right (near the hotel), and there was a party of two already checking in at the host station. Check-in was a fast process, they asked for my name and if I was staying at the property. We were ushered into the restaurant and told to wait to the side for a hostess to seat us. I saw it was busy, but not completely full. They still had quite a few open tables available, and we were seated quickly after about 5min. of waiting. The lady who had seated us was wonderful, and very nice. She took our drink order (2 coffees) and brought over 2 cups as well as a saucer full of hazelnut creamer packs. Our waitress visited our table shortly after introducing herself. Her name was Celine, and she was a ray of light! Very sweet and attentive. She quickly poured our coffee and brought 2 muffins to the table. These are complimentary muffins, and let me tell you... they are DELICIOUS. They have a walk up bakery right next to the café, and every single thing i've purchased from them has been top notch. The muffins also come with homemade whipped butter which compliment the flavors perfectly. Celine gave us a few minutes to look at the menu and came back to take our orders. My mom and I both ordered the triple decker turkey club sandwich. One with parmesan fries and the other with fried onion petals. Now, after this, my mom had an OOPSIE and spilled her water cup all over the table. Of course she was embarrassed and panic just engulfed us...Without asking, a worker by the name of Javier appeared at our side to help. Of course it was embarrassing...but he was so kind about it and made my mom feel better. He got more napkins and then held out his serving tray telling us to just push the ice onto that and he will take care of it. He literally stepped into action...where I feel others would just walked by at other places until you ask or make eye contact with panic. Javier, thank you so much, you are a sweetheart and theyre lucky to have you. After that whole excitement, our food quickly came out. It looked delicious...and I have had onion rings but never fried onion petals! I LOVED THESE!! They are so much better than traditional onion rings. The turkey club was loved by both of us, and the parmesan fries were great. Celine checked in on us regularly and refilled our coffees along with that. It definitely was a great brunch that we had, and we were lucky to have had the service from Celine and Javier on our visit. I will DEFINITELY be back! and recommend you take a nice drive one day to try it out. read more

Ehhh I can't say anything bad about the food here but it is your typical American cafe with breakfast and dinners served all day so it contains just about anything American you can think of such as sandwiches, burgers, steak, breakfast foods, wraps, pasta, anything. This place is usually packed all the time with a long line to dine in and the food takes awhile to come out. For dining in it takes a bit quicker but for takeout, mannn it can get close to an hour which is ridiculous. It seems like they prioritize the foods for dine in customers more than takeout since they assume you can wait. Not only that but they also charge $5 for takeout orders which is dumb in my opinion. I guess that's like their gratuity surcharge. Now like I mentioned I can't complain about the foods. We've tried a great number of dishes here and everything we've had was good. I mean I guess you can't go wrong and mess up American foods anyway but they need to work on their customer service and their takeout orders. read more

They close at 2pm so don't delay. There will be a line/wait on busy days but they either give you a buzzer or take your phone number to text when your table is ready. Giving you time to feed the one armed bandits before you feed yourself. Good variety of entrées, we like some of their Asian offerings. Desserts are good too as they are connected with the bakery. We generally like to stay at Valley View Hotel because of just that "Quality & tip top service" What we take for granted is the wonderful breakfast that comes with your stay. Today, we didn't stay but love "The Cafe" for their unbelievable menu, I had Steak & eggs for breakfast but it comes with choices, I love their fruit, whoever picks their fruit it's absolutely delicious!! and like I said quality & tip top service even when it's so crowded or they're short handed, you can see that every team member is working hard. We've stayed at a Marriott where you pay for a simple room and comes with what they call breakfast, think on that for a moment , then appreciate the wonderful food and people creating such a warm environment and to top it off, absolutely wonderful food! My husband and I ate here while we were staying at Harrah's. It's hard to get me away from Earl's, but I was in the mood for a change. I got the steak sandwich, which was good - very rich and somewhat greasy, but flavor was awesome! It also came with Parmesan tots, which were perfectly crunchy. I've eaten at the Café at Harrah's Southern California countless times, but this is my first review. A girlfriend and I spent the night at the hotel and decided to have breakfast at the Café. We both ordered the Avocado Toast. It was an everything bagel topped with whipped cream cheese, sliced avocado, baby heirloom tomatoes and drizzled with balsamic glaze. It was served with two poached eggs, four sausages (several choices), and a cup of fruit. The Avocado Toast was absolutely delicious! The portion size was large. We could've easily shared one breakfast. The only issue was that the service was horrible! I asked for a coffee refill and waited a long time. The server barely checked on us, and I had to ask the lady cleaning tables to ask our server for the check and takeout containers. I came for breakfast but ended up ordering lunch. I ordered the Chicken Piccata. This is the best Chicken Piccata I have ever had. The chicken was perfectly tender and the sauce was creamy with the perfect amount of wine and butter. This dish came with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and white carrots. It came with choice of soup or salad. The Wonton Soup was adequate. I think I will try the Chicken Tortilla soup next time. The entire dish was very pleasing. I've had breakfast here with my family several times before; usually the morning after spending the night at the hotel. I heard the cafe recently reopened after remodeling, but it looked the same to me. If you're lucky to be seated near the windows, you'll be treated to the views of the Palomar mountains. Came here yesterday with my mom. We stood in line for about 20 minutes before finally getting to the host stand, was informed it would be about a 30 minute wait for black card holders & would receive a text when the table was ready. Got a text about 10 minutes later, and we were seated a few minutes after checking back in. We originally wanted to eat at another casino eatery but they no longer took reservations and we were told to wait in the bar and just walk up whenever we saw people leaving. Whaaaat? Ridiculous so we left and decided to visit Harrah's, which we hadn't visited in a while. Hubby wanted to build up tier credits to get the $100 Target gift card. Hubby ordered the BLTA with Parmesan fries and I ordered the grilled cheese (with Cheddar & Swiss) on sourdough sandwich with the Parmesan fries. Both sandwiches & the fries were delicious! My sandwich was huge and so cheesy that I could only eat half! Hubby devoured his meal. Our server made sure our glasses of iced teas remained filled. Customer service was amazing for us. Polite, prompt, courteous, and quick! We ordered the NY steak sammy with onion fingers and their wings. While we waited for our food, we were offered fresh baked bread and butter to hold us over. It was DELISH! NY steak sandwich came with grilled mushrooms and onions with provolone cheese, AMAZING! The wings were PERFECTLY cooked. They were crispy outside, juicy inside, and perfect in size. To be honest, the wings and the complimentary fresh baked bread is really all you need as a meal! We decided on an earlier morning trip to Valley View this time so we arrived at 9:30 am hoping for some breakfast. Sadly, even on a Sunday morning, there is still a 40 minute-ish wait. Luckily, the wait was shorter than that and we were called in about 30ish minutes. By the time we were seated, we were more in a lunch mood than breakfast. Luckily, the entire menu is available at all times so this wasn't a problem. Instead of rolls though, we receive some nice sweet muffins with butter. However, it seemed to take a while to get our drinks, which means I shouldn't have had one of the muffins because I didn't have anything to wash it down with. This leads me to my only issue with coming here, they aren't known for their speed. Honestly, I'm not sure what the problem is because the employees are working hard. Maybe not enough of them? But compared to other restaurants, you're just not going to get fast service or back out to the floor to gamble quickly. This time we went for some Asian dishes, which are really meant to be shared. Both dishes came with a small rice bowl. The orange chicken was more a grilled chicken rather than fried like most places, but I liked it. The people who work there are super friendly as always, but I often feel the hostess at the front podium always appears beat up. I'm sure they get tired of explaining the wait policy and/or dealing with disappointed guests that won't be seated as soon as they want. They have separate menus for breakfast and lunch, so keep in mind what time you're dining there. We were right at the cusp of transitioning to lunch, so we asked our server if we can wait a bit to order from the lunch menu. He was very kind and was happy to accommodate. Wonton soup wasn't the best. It was lacking an authentic taste and a bit salty. The wonton outer wrapper was very starchy. Clam chowder was good. Decent amount of clams in the dish. Wings were extra crispy (as requested) with the sauce on the side. Tables were kept clean and the staff were very organized. However, we did half of our order dine in and half of our order take away to use up all our comps. Our take away experience wasn't as good as the dine in. We were missing a side of white rice and a crab cake. Instead of crab cake, we got salmon. We noticed the number on the box was labeled wrong so it could have been a a packing error. Our pager never went off to pick up the food so we just happen to come back and ask if our order was ready. If you get take out, double check that everything is all there. 3.5 Stars. read more

My only complaint is the $5 charge for take out. I wish that service fee would of been mention by the cashier. When I asked about canceling , she made it seem like the refund was going to take months. At that point I was like never mind. Posting my review on the actual page claimed by Valley View! :) Reposting pictures too. A renamed and renovated version of what was formerly "BLD's" at Valley View Hotel and Casino. I loved BLD's a lot so I am saddened that they no longer serve dinner here, instead serving dinner at the other new place "Patties and Pints" but I would like for that special to return somehow that was at BLD's formerly. That said, a lot of new additions were made and a few things removed from the menu. There is no longer a biscuit and gravy on the complimentary hotel breakfast but they have things like potato pancakes now instead of home fries. There are a lot more fancy options for breakfast or brunch since the focus is on breakfast and lunch now. Everything else is pretty much the same with a ramped up decor and slightly different table settings + a different look for the seating area. Food is as good as always and service is also stellar. I wish they had a nice special again as before though since I really used that as much as I could when it was around. Looking forward to seeing what they offer in the future and trying it all out as I have with the complimentary breakfast options if you stay as a hotel guest. read more

The Cafe restaurant which serves only breakfast and lunch is pretty good, with excellent service. The free bread, rolls, and whipped butter are very good. The Clam Chowder is just the right thickness with good flavor and tender clams - but not quite enough of them. The All-American Burger contains high quality beef cooked your way with your choice of cheese on a tasty brioche bun. It fortunately includes a side which most places serving premium burgers do not, instead forcing you to pay $5-$8 for more fries than you want. The parmesan fries are highly recommended, being perfectly fresh, crisp, and delicious. My only complaint about the burger is that it's served deconstructed with no sauce/condiments on either side of the bun. You have to ask for mayonnaise and mustard if you want them, but ketchup is on the table. So you have to spend a bunch of time doctoring the bun and assembling the pile of lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles precariously onto the bun. read more

It's a nice spot to eat after hitting the slots. The staff is really friendly they make you feel very coming. As they sit you they make sure to grab your drinks. My mom order the New York steak sandwich with a side of fries which is a good portion she barely ate half of it. I got the triple decker club with a side cole slaw. It is very full-filling the plate. The Cafe at Valley View is oh so good! I love coming here for breakfast or lunch. Make sure you make it on time they close at 2:00pm :-( the breakfast is excellent!!! So fresh, and so delicious.
