This healthcare organization is terrible. I have very decent healthcare with Kaiser with my…read moreemployer. The problem is that I am only allowed to go to the Bellevue clinic for urgent care. I was bleeding from my head (if you don't know it yet, a head wound is a bleeder for a long time). So I elected to pay out of pocket and go to Evergreen for stitches. When it was time to remove the stitches, I called Evergreen in advance to ask them how much it would cost to remove them at Evergreen or if I should go to Kaiser with a $20 copay. The representative on the phone told me that stitch removal was a part of the $570 I paid out of pocket. Then I got a bill from Evergreen saying I owed $146 for stitch removal. This is a disgusting practice and Evergreen should be ashamed of themselves. When I escalated the matter, even though calls were recorded to prove what I was told, the insisted I pay the bill (which I did today). I would not trust this company and I will never work with them again. I will pay for a taxi vs dealing with BS like this.

I personally don't need hand holding mushiness, I need the truth, level headedness and a physician who will share his knowledge about what is going on with my body. A little small talk and humor doesn't hurt either. All qualities you will find with Dr. Bayles and his staff. I live nearby so location is awesome for me. I used to see a Swedish physician downtown but finally switched b/c the drive and parking was inconvenient. And no parking charges at the Redmond Swedish Medical Center! It's also brand new so the facility looks great. And scheduling appointments have also generally been easy. I once got squeezed in at the last minute when I got a severe allergic reaction and needed some relief asap. The Swedish network is also something I love (yes, love). All your medical information gathered by Swedish physicians is online so there's no confusion about your medical history or trying to remember every little thing. Another much appreciated thing...everything runs like a well-oiled machine. I get in, fill in some quick paperwork, pay my co-pay and I'm in an office in less than 5 minutes. A nurse takes some information about my visit, gets some vitals and the doctor arrives in less than 5 minutes. When I'm done, my paperwork is being printed, don't need to mess with prescriptions as they have been electronically delivered to my pharmacy and I'm done. Like I said, I see my physician more often than the average person and any extra time I can save not waiting around is a big thumbs up for me.

I clearly said I didn't need any diagnosis or treatment, yet she ordered an unnecessary test without warning me it would be billed separately. This isn't the first time she's pulled this. In the past, she added charges for simply asking a question during a physical. It feels like a trap--say one wrong thing and you get billed extra. I've seen many doctors over the years and none have made me feel this anxious about simply talking during a checkup. This is not patient-centered care--it's profit-centered.

We called them on a Friday to set up an appointment for the following Wednesday. When we arrived on Wednesday, the entire process was fairly quick and straightforward since we both had complete immunization records. Dr. Dudetsky was professional, courteous, and helpful. We had to come back a couple of days later to process the results of our TB skin test, and had a very quick visit once again. Results were provided in a sealed envelope as per USCIS standards, and the staff clearly knew what they were doing--definitely something you want when dealing with the government!

I followed up 5 days after the initial request, then had to call 10 days after that just to get them released. It took 2 weeks to get my records. Most recently, I requested a renewal on a medication I've been taking for over 10 years. I heard nothing back for 11 days, then had to call in. I was placed on hold three separate times over the course of one call, totaling around 15 minutes, and was told I'd need to come in for an appointment before they'd refill it. I explained that I needed it immediately because they hadn't responded in 11 days. They put me on hold again and then doubled down on the same answer. Staff also blamed the delay on the receptionist being "new," despite her being the one who put me on hold twice to check with someone else on my behalf. It took 1.5 weeks and I never received my prescription. I have never had such horrible communication or professionalism from a medical facility. I would suggest going literally anywhere else.
