It smelled musty, and the mustiness immediately made my brain hyper-alert. I got undressed and thought to myself, only 30mins, so no long-suffering. Damn, was I wrong! When I opened the paper-thin sheet, I wanted to vomit! It smelled like a fabric that'd been washed and dried beyond its capacity giving it a disgusting chemical-like smell. My shoulders were tight, and the massage was supposed to be a last-minute fix-me-up, so I got on the bed and threw the stinky blanket over me only halfway up my back, so the stench was not close to my face. The lady up front then comes in the room to give me the massage. Immediately it was a no, especially when she pulled the blanket all the way up to my neck, which is when I snatched it down and said it stank, which she ignored.10 minutes in, another lady comes in to take over even though lady #1 didn't inform me that the swap was going to happen. So boom, I am lying there just trying to let go and let God so that the experience wouldn't be more traumatic than it needed to be. The 2nd lady tried to upsell me by suggesting more time, but I kindly declined. She was better at massaging compared to the 1st one. Unfortunately not enough for me to leave the place pleased but a bit better. In all honesty, I don't know who these 5stars people are, but it was NOT it for me. Those 30mins spent there will be a core memory for a while until something else takes its place in the memory bank. At the price of $45 plus a tip for 30mins, I would've expected something better than what I got, but that's on me, and I learned a valuable lesson. Tl; Dr? Don't go for a full-body massage. If you are, carry your own towel/blanket and don't have high expectations. The area for the foot massages looked alright, so maybe opt for that. Check out their Google reviews. Why would a business review itself as "nice and clean"? Smh!

Upon first entering I was greeted by the staff working there which seemed pleasant. I was taken to the large room which had separate massage spaces inside. Each space is separate and there are curtains to enter each space. I had a large male that did my massage I'm not sure what his name was. He did a good job with the massage, I was nervous because he would step on my back and he had to have been over 280lb but it was fine. He must have had hairy arms because I think I felt it during the massage. The space was relaxing no complaints, just observations. Would recommend as it was $55 for one hour for a full body massage.

Other places - you pay double or triple and it doesn't guarantee a better massage. I moved 10 yrs ago and still make the drive there frequently. Worth it. You sit in a recliner, there isn't privacy (you are fully clothed so I don't care), and the room is dark with relaxing music. No one talks or plays on their phone. They have 30 min, 60 min, 1.5 hr massage options. You can pick half table (which is private with curtains) and half recliner for your 1.5 hr massage. They put your feet in a warm bucket of water and massage your head and scalp while your feet soak. Then they work down to your arms, feet, legs ... fatigue busting. I appreciate this business and, even though there are local similar businesses, I still find myself driving to New City & more relaxed from Mia's.

They require you to sign off on the legal document that is a combination of Hold Harmless if they injure you, and a list of service that are included in service your purchased. I listed on the document that I had an injured right arm, and believed that that would indicate they would treat that area with care!! One of the services listed was a change of clothes, so that I assume you change into those clothes for the massage. Despite purchasing a 90 min massage, I was led into a non-private room where there were other customers being worked on... I was never given this change of clothes. So the message person gave me a message through my street clothes...shirt and shorts! I was surprised, as I have had massages before and never have they not provided the message spa wear so that you get the proper benefits of a therapeutic massage. Masseuse did not speak English well, and proceeded to twist my injured arm behind my back [to stretch it]! I said that hurt and she chuckled ! I was shocked that they disregarded the note on my intake form stating that that arm/shoulder was injured. Furthermore, she worked unusually long on my left inner thigh at the juncture of my leg and hip joint, and lower back near my kidneys. I experienced severe pain in three areas after this message for three weeks! : My left hip joint, my lower back / kidneys, and my right arm. Very memorable as a non-enjoyable experience. Buyer beware!
