In fact, typically end up with such a large stack of books to purchase, that she just keeps them at the front desk for me until I'm done with my pile. One other special thing that she does, is keep a record of her regulars and authors they are looking for. If she comes across any of those authors, she will personally give you a call to let you know there in the shop. Sylvia is just a neat woman herself. The damage with most Thrips shops these days is that all of a sudden, they are overpriced. Sylvia is always so fair, and her merchandise is in such good condition for how old it maybe. My mom, who we lost in September of 2019, used to come here all the time. I was here today, and she still remembered her. She had such nice things to say about her. As other people have said, it doesn't look that big on the outside, but it is huge on the inside. If you can't find what you are looking for, you are probably not looking hard enough. They have new and used books, fiction, nonfiction, cookbooks, travel, rare and out of print books,, a very large children's room, and the list goes on and on. The prices are more than fair.... They also buy used books at a fair rate for store credit . If you don't find what you need this time, they will roll your credit over until the next time you come in. It's really cool that they do that. Once you buy your book, take it across the street to Los Bagels, And you can grab a nice snack while you peruse your purchase. When our kids were little Santa left books at the foot of the bed so they could unwrap and stay in bed and read until it was at least 7am. Well, 20 and 22 and we're still doing it.
