In LA for a business trip and came across Klaudette's. This food is AMAZING. Get the ox tail with everything it's incredible. The portions are absolutely massive, plenty for two people.

Hours are 1130-10 Thurs/fr/sat and every other Sunday. Sooooo good! And Claudette is the sweetest lady ever She is across from the regal theater and you can park for a couple minutes in the lot behind her.

Jerk Chicken

I came here on Sunday with my girl to try the jerk chicken and the reviews looked good but I was very disappointed when I got my food. The cabbage was greasy and unflavored, the jerk chicken was lukewarm, really dry barely had any sauce, it was three small pieces whilst the majority of space on my plate was taken by rice. The jerk chicken was smoky but it was tough lacked flavor, it was more like regular bbq it was sweet to which was unexpected. Plantains were also hard. Also preferred some Mac and cheese it was good but was sour. Maybe I came on a bad day or something because overall the food was lacking flavor unsatisfied especially after paying so much. Klaudette wasn't there but some guy served us he was very nice even charged us less bc mf gf didn't want cabbage. I'm not a very picky eater either, I ate most of it but It wasn't enjoyable :/

Food is amazing always fresh and I would definitely recommend this to anybody. That's in downtown LA area near the convention center and her customer service and hospitality is top-tier.

Ms Klaudette of Klaudette's Kitchen! Big plates and big flavor.

Stopped by the incredible Gem and had an incredible meal. The Oxtail melted in my mouth with a depth of true authentic Jamaican flavor. Both the Curry and Jerk Chicken we're also outstanding. Klaudette walked me through the menu and graciously let sample a few items. My plate was heavy, and now my belley is full. I'll be back in a couple days!!

Had this as my last meal in LA before traveling back home. The meal did not disappoint!!! I highly recommend the jerk chicken meal. Best part Klaudette put oxtail gravy over my rice. Support black owned businesses.

Destroyed that plate lol, only bones left

$35 for the smallest plate of mediocre food. Tiny portions from a rude and snappy old lady.

Klaudette was very kind, even let me sample some oxtail because I've never had it, and it was fire.

They have some imported drinks and some pastries on display at their counter. After ordering, they let us know that our food will be ready in 10-15 minutes, no buzzer, so just keep the time in mind when you're ordering. Service is friendly and timely with their estimate. For our visit, we got the Chicken Curry with Rice and Peas. This comes with potatoes, peas, and channa (spiced chickpeas) stewed throughout the coconut rice with curried chicken. Super moist chicken and generous portions. Definitely enough to share amongst 3 adults but can get a bit messy. Make sure you have napkins and if you're taking it to go, to make sure it doesn't tip over! We also got the cheese roll and the Jamaican style beef patty. Easy enough to cut up and share, a bit oily, but it made the pastries deliciously flaky and addicting to eat. I can probably just consume one of these quite easily on my own. I took a bite of my friend's order of jerk chicken and it had a pretty good kick to it. Good stuff and solid choice for dinner at Blossom Market Hall.

I grabbed the Jamaican Beef Patty while my partner went with the Curry Chicken, roti, and chickpeas. While we waited, I noticed the lovely young lady in the back happily singing as she made the patties, and I'm convinced she seasoned them with good vibes because every bite tasted like love!! Hands down the best Jamaican beef patty I've ever had, crispy, beefy, savory, ridiculously aromatic, and that little dab of habanero sauce had my mouth pleasantly on fire for a minute!! The curry chicken was no slouch either. I stole a bite of the roti dunked in that rich curry sauce, and wow... so flavorful and delicious!! Safe to say I'll be dragging the whole family here the next time they visit. Highly recommend!

I've been here plenty of times now and love the staff as well as the party vibe ambiance especially when watching Haiti compete in the World Cup. I have ordered multiple dishes here and everything is delicious! I've had the Griot, Oxtail, Tasso Kabrit, Pate, Bannan Cups, Djon Djon Rice (black mushroom rice), Sweet Plantains, Bannan Peze (pressed plantains) and Passion fruit juice...basically the whole menu lol. Oh and can't forget my fave the pikliz!!! I haven't been to Haiti, but the owners are from there and brought their unique spices and flavors to Los Angeles. Whether I'm getting take-out or dining in, this food definitely hits the spot!

I got an oxtail plate, with djon djon & bannan peze. It also came with a little bit of salade russe (Haitian potato salad), pikliz, and sauce. The diri djon djon was so flavorful, definitely my favorite thing on the plate. The oxtail was seasoned well and pretty tender. The pikliz was good, pretty mild so I could enjoy it all. I tried some griot and thought it could have marinated longer. The portions felt very huge. The service here is really friendly and accommodating. The food came put after not too long of a wait and it was hot. The space is cool. It looks like an old diner. There's konpa playing in the background and games like Uno & Dominos available if you want to play. We also got two Haitian beef patties to go. They're legit! Came with pikliz and another sauce I never had before, it was green with a bit of spice and tang. The main downside is the location. It was fine in the daytime, but at night I wouldn't want to be alone as a woman here. That's just me though. Parking is metered on the street ($6/hr)

Came here for dinner this week, on our way to see Rosalía at the Inglewood Forum. Found it on Yelp…read more(thanks Yelp!). This area is not familiar to us at all, and we don't normally eat (for us) exotic cuisine. But, we were in the mood to try something new, so we stopped here. It's a colorful, cheerful little place. I think there are only like 4 tables. Apparently, it is mostly takeout. This became evident when our food was "served". We ordered a large two-meat plate and two large fried chicken plates. The two meats were "brown stew chicken" and curry goat. The meat is served in thick savory gravy/sauce. The "plates" are served with rice and fried plantains. The brown stew chicken was good. The curry goat was really good. Here's where the experience really veered sharply from our normal dining experience. The "plates" were served in takeout fold-over boxes with plastic forks. The meat itself was pretty much all adhered to bones. It was tender and delicious, but eating with our hands doesn't come naturally. So, I asked for a knife, and the sweet woman who takes the orders looked at me and said they don't have knives, and that we "just have to dig down into it". Indeed. She did give me a second plastic fork though, which I used. Nice workers. Authentic food. Huge portions. New experience which we all enjoyed.

The owner, walked over very politely with a straight face and said we don't eat hot sauce on the island so it's going to cost 1$ What does one have anything to do with the other? I didn't understand her logic. I paused for a second and she said so would u like some hot sauce? It was some bottled generic hot sauce not even house made. I declined to order. The food was pre cooked , set in a steamer. Fast casual restaurant with a few tables Food was bland and subpar.

After craving Jamaican food for what feels like forever, I finally decided to search Yelp on my way…read morehome from working in LA and came across The Taste of the Caribbean in Long Beach - and wow, this hit the spot in a way I've been missing for too long. For context, I've always loved Jamaican food and even have family who make incredible, authentic dishes, but I haven't had anything close to that in a year. So my expectations? High. My craving? Even higher. I ordered the jerk chicken dinner with peas & rice and cabbage medley, and some plantains - to go. First off, the service was amazing. The woman who helped me was genuinely warm and welcoming, and you can tell she cares about what she's serving. When I ordered, she asked if I wanted the jerk sauce on the side and made sure I was okay with the spice level when I said no. That attention to detail matters. The food came out quickly (it was mid-afternoon and not busy), and everything stayed warm all the way home--which is always a win for takeout. Now let's talk about the food: The portion was generous, the flavors were on point, and everything tasted fresh. The jerk chicken had that perfect smoky, spicy kick - exactly what I was hoping for. The rice and peas and cabbage medley were a great balance to the heat, and the plantains were sweet and perfectly cooked. I did notice another review complaining about the spice level being too high... and honestly, I had to laugh a little. Have you had jerk chicken before? It's supposed to be spicy - that's the whole point. Personally, that comment is part of what made me choose this place, and it delivered. If you don't like spice, jerk might not be your thing - but I'm sure there are milder options if you ask. Bonus: they offer online ordering and delivery through Uber Eats and Postmates, which makes it even easier to get your fix. Overall, this place brought back the flavors I've been missing for so long. I'll absolutely be back - and probably sooner rather than later.
