The Roti here is not to be missed. Came here today when I found the place on the inKind app, and was not disappointed. The place is colorful and feels like a little slice of the Caribbean right in the heart of east Hollywood. I tried the red pepper goat roti, which was deeelish, and had a ton of great spice to it. It really does feel like a marriage of Indian and Caribbean food and is such a fascinating mix of flavors. My wife had the chicken curry roti and loved it too. We will have to try the patties or the coco bread next time... This place is popular, and can take a little time to get the food out, so be prepared for a little wait for the food. I cannot say I've had a single good chicken patty in US, but this place def makes it fresh (good) instead of reheating the frozen ones! The price points for the patty and not offering or including some sauce is a bit wild. Especially when it's so dry and mostly crust/pastry. The sauce is sold separately. IDK am I in "LA" again lol? I understand meat is expensive, but this patty would be top tier in the area, maybe even all of CA if the baker used enough meat esp considering price, added some more spices, and sauce was included. In LA, it's not easy trying to encroach on burritos turf, but this is a worthy addition to what can be found in this city. Whenever I have an insatiable hankering for comfort food, and I can't take the G6 to the Caribbean, I swoop to the eastside to Bridgetown Roti. My most recent visit was for a casual birthday dinner after attending a day party. We were starving and wanted food that would comfort us. Dining at BR hit the mark! Great casual eats Caribbean spot in East Hollywood! I got the red pepper goat wrap style and it was pretty good. The roti wrap was filled with succulent and flavorful goat which seeped into the potato inside. I especially liked the turmeric slaw which provided a crisp and refreshing bite. The roti itself was warm and flaky. As someone who was surrounded by a lot of Caribbean restaurants in Florida, I do wish there was more heat and spiciness to this dish. It seemed toned down. Also, the whole wrap was a bit oily, so it can be heavy. Still pretty good though. However, I do feel like this is overpriced at around $20 for a smaller wrap. They also have vegan/vegetarian options! The interior is nice and friendly. It's not too big, but pretty comfy. I saw there were outlets inside, but not sure if there's WiFi. The service was also pretty good. There's also a clean bathroom. For parking, I parked at the Island Pacific grocery store lot nearby for free, but it is a bit of a walk over. We ordered: - Mom's Curry Chicken Roti - Cocobread Fish Cutter * - Sweet Spiced Plantains - Soursop Punch - Coco Limeade * The Fish Cutter was the star of this show. Since this fish is fried I was expecting a heavier bite, but was pleasantly surprised to find myself eating an incredibly light and fresh sandwich. Perfectly balanced from the sweet + tangy hibiscus jam to that gorgeous herby green sauce. Mom's Curry Chicken Roti is now on my list of go-to comfort meals; saucy and delicious. Recoginizing that delivered food won't be as good as dining in the restaurant, this was still a big WOW! The "Macaroni & Cheese Pie" is phenomonal. It's the kind of mac I prefer... cake style, not runny. It's really very good. You MUST order this and you should just go ahead and order the large size. The crab and shrimp patty wasn't my favorite but I'm sure that is becasue we were so intently focused on the mac and the roti skin that we didn't get to it until a few hours later. That coconut limeade is super special and refreshing!! Totally worth it, made me feel like I was at the beach. I liked the tenderness of the goat, but I was expecting more spice and flavor to be honest. I was also surprised at how soft and oily the roti was, maybe I was incorrect in expecting it to be closer to a flaky tortilla. That combined with the richness of the meat, made this dish super heavy honestly. Next time I stop by, I'll probably try the patties or the jerk chicken. Loved the crispy potatoes and roti too. The jerk chicken is a must- this was the juiciest and most tender chicken I've ever had at a restaurant. My partner and I have become instant fans of Bridgetown Roti, whose existence we were alerted to by an online video about the best fried seafood you can find in LA. We shared the chicken curry roti, cocobread cutter, and a cup of soursop punch. The cocobread cutter was personally my favorite - it's a nuanced but memorable medley of thinly fried but crisp seabass, deep green gremolata, and just enough hibiscus jam in between two slices of soft cocobread. The curry chicken roti was also fantastic - I'm a sucker for anything with garlic and a bit of tumeric and that definitely tastes better with tender chicken wrapped by a delicious roti. The soursop punch was also fruity but not too sweet - a just right combination for us. Service here was really friendly and although the restaurant itself isn't too large, it's designed colorfully to feel warm and make you feel like you can relax when eating. Yum! I first experienced Bridgetown roti at Eatsconn where they did a collab with another restaurant and I had a delicious ox tail curry pizza and their amazing coco limeade. Both items were my favorite things I had that day. The ox tail was tender and flavorful and the coco limeade was unique and very refreshing. I came in person for the first time at their main location and was very excited. Their store is small with a couple tables to sit at and you order at the counter. Don't order more than a half portion. There also isn't anything unique about it; it's a pretty standard dish. Jerk Chicken Patty (5.5/10): the flavors just weren't popping out for me. I don't usually write reviews for food but I had to say something about Bridgetown, I've been thinking about it all day. Genuinely one of the most incredible bites I've ever had, I am so glad I stumbled in here. I'll be honest, I was not expecting many vegan options but I was pleasantly impressed by how much was available. I ordered the seasonal vegetable patty and the vegan channa roti. Walking in you are greeted with golden brown baked patties, immediately putting the goodness on display. I've had Caribbean patties before, most of them fried because I grew up in the south, but a friend's mom from childhood would fresh bake them for us and I had missed that for so long. These patties reminded me of that and I had a Ratatouille flashback moment with it. I don't exactly remember what was in the patty, but it was the fall medley, and it was warm, cozy, and so pleasant. The lady at the front of house asked me what I thought and I could tell she really cared about the fact that I enjoyed it. About 10 minutes later the roti came out (and I think waiting for it made the experience even better), and my goodness every single bite was just fantastic. I spent around $30 in total (including tip) and I think that was a complete steal for the experience I had. I'm definitely coming back so I can try the jerk cucumbers and the channa doubles. Bridgetown Roti got a lot of buzz for being many of LA's top chef's favorite restaurant. I finally got to order takeout and wow wow I was veryyyy impressed. I used to eat Caribbean and jerk chicken weekly when I lived in Brooklyn, and Bridgetown Roti far surpassed even that.
