    Chicken stew I believe

This is a hidden gem. The man who took our order said they've been there for years but this was my first time trying it. The service was great, good music, good vibes overall. The food was filling. I believe it was $19 for the plate we got. My friend and I shared it and couldn't finish it so you know you're getting your moneys worth for the portion size. Great sides, good chicken, and the bread with jam was also good. They even gave us two items on the side to try on the house but I can't remember the names of the items. I'd 100% return. It's a local spot and deserves more attention.

I like the Rice and beans, chicken and potato salad. Usually takeout or pickup order. This is one of the better place for Belizean cuisine. Service is great, parking is difficult on busy days.

    Oxtail meal

Pretty good overall. Just so much rice and beans. Wish it was a bit more oxtail meat. The meat was very fatty. The potato salad was pretty good. The price was about $16 which is cheaper compared to other restaurants that sell oxtail. Kind and personal service. Small restaurant and seating available but most people just took their food to go. Very simple establishment.

Today my family and I went to Tracey's to have authentic Belizean food. We ordered their oxtail plate and two stew chicken plates. The oxtails were cooked perfectly, very tender. The rice & beans, where do I start, amazing. I'm a big fan and a little picky about whose rice and beans I eat, and theirs was delicious! Definitely going back! Thank you for a memorable experience!

I should've written this sooner. I had Tracey's for the first time about two months ago and it was very delicious. I had the stewed chicken with the rice and peas and potato salad. Now, Joan and Sisters is right down the street so let me say how they compare. Chicken itself, I will give to Joan and Sisters. Peas and rice and potato salad goes to Tracey's. Tracey's has far nicer customer service. Staff is friendly and they treat you like you like a long lost friends...but they don't take phone orders. Bummer. Joan and Sisters does take phone orders BUT your order still may not be ready when you get there even if you walk in at the estimated time. Joan and Sisters is far more generous with the onion sauce which takes the meal over the top. Tracey's was quite stingy with it. I ordered four meals and they gave me ONE SINGLE FOIL PACKET of the onion. Parking sucks at both locations!

Hubby craving his comfort food. We stopped by for breakfast. Breakfast was good. Enjoyed the flap jacks. The service was great.

Beautiful Dining Area, ATM Provided and Fan to keep you cool

When I stated in my last review that I was going to return the next day. I did!! My hubby is Belizean so I decided to bring him. Turns out he knew the family of those working there. Pharaoh and Mike are the brothers that offer customers that awesome service. Tracy and Rocks are the ones that deliver the taste!!! Food is addicting. I love the fact that an ATM is provided inside although they accept credit card and debit forms of payment. One review stated that it can get hot inside but they have a gigantic fan inside that can keep you cool. They keep it smelling good on the inside as usual.

Went to a new Brazilian Restaurant food was great I will be going back again food did not take long water was very nice and polite

And I had to ask "What is a Jamaican Style Meat Patty"? and they told me it's like an empanada! But WOAH. It's much bigger than any empanada I've ever seen! The staff was super nice on the phone to me when they explained what it was and that we were able to turn the meat patty into a vegetarian friendly version - nice! They also had a vegetarian one! So we grabbed 2 and got 2 free then decided to also order their vegetarian curry because we thought the meat patties wouldn't be enough. But omg. It was more than enough! The meat patties were huge and thick! And so so so FLAVORFUL! When you come to their shop inside the food hall the shop looks unassuming, it's cluttered and doesn't really give me the excitement of wanting to order here but wow wow wow. Once we ate it we were like "we shouldn't have judged!" Once we dived into the curry we were just waaaay to full but the vegetarian curry was so good. Not as flavorful as the meat patty (should've had the curry first so our tastebuds wern't overwhelmed!" but still tasty nonetheless! It had so much chickpeas and the rice was pretty good! I think we're going to have to come back and try it again when we're in the area!

The Jerk chicken was cooked perfectly, though the spice level was mild, even after a warning. The oxtail was tender and good, but not the best I've had. While the rice and beans were a bit too wet, the plantains and cabbage were great. I would have preferred some hot sauce and fluffier rice, but overall it was a solid meal. A text notification system for when orders are ready would be a helpful addition, especially for those seated away from the counter. The staff member gave an estimated time, and my food was actually ready sooner, which I wasn't aware of. While not a major issue, this is an area that could be improved. The service was friendly and helpful, and I would definitely return to try more of their dishes. While the food overall was good, a few things fell short, like the rice. Overall, it's a tough call because the food deserves more than 4 stars. Caribbean Gourmet is easily the best Caribbean spot in the SGV and my second favorite in LA County. The prices are very fair for the portion sizes, and I must highlight how affordable they are, especially these days. Kudos to Caribbean Gourmet for keeping prices affordable while serving delicious food!

When I got on Yelp, I saw mixed reviews, especially comments about a woman being rude or having a bad attitude. Thankfully, we did not have that experience directly. I did briefly see her come out from the kitchen, we caught eyes, and she walked back inside. The ambiance was ok, good music , no customers at the time, but a few tables were dirty. The young man cleaned it right away . To be fair, I don't think the issue is primarily the young man taking the orders. He was kind, apologetic, and seemed to care, but the overall operation felt unorganized. Our order was incorrect three separate times. First, the drink order was wrong, but he fixed it and apologized. Second, we paid extra for mayo ketchup and garlic sauce in small 1 oz containers, but they were not placed on our tray, so we had to get up and ask for them. Again, he apologized. Then, when we received our tray, he let us know they had run out of lettuce and gave us potato beet salad instead, without offering us an option first. We ordered the goat stew plate and the grilled chicken plate, both served in to-go containers. For the plates, you get your protein, then a choice of green salad or potato beet salad, along with either white rice or moro rice, which is rice cooked with beans. We chose the moro rice. I've had Caribbean/Dominican food many times before, and it is usually packed with flavor, so I was honestly surprised that this was bland. This definitely feels like a coaching opportunity for the cook to taste the food throughout the cooking process, because a little seasoning and balance can make a huge difference. The grilled chicken portion was generous, and the plantains were delicious. The guanábana/soursop drink was also delicious, and the tamarindo had good flavor, though it had a lot of pulp/flesh in the cup. That said, the chicken and onion sauce were very bland and needed salt. For the prices being charged, the guest experience should feel more polished. Our total came out to $78 for two plates, two drinks, a small side of beans, and plantains. Pretty costly for what we received. Another thing that stood out was the napkins. When we asked for more, we were only given two additional napkins, which felt very stingy, especially when eating saucy dishes like goat stew. It just didn't feel like the best way to treat guests. As a chef and food safety professional, I also noticed behaviors that need coaching, including apron use when going into the restroom, lack of visible handwashing afterward, and bare-hand contact after scratching the head before touching food containers. These are important food safety habits that should be reinforced immediately. Overall, Karibbean Cuisine has good flavor potential and generous portions, but they need stronger operational structure, better order accuracy, improved guest communication, and tighter food safety practices. At this time, I personally would not come back, but I do wish them all the best in their business. I hope they take this feedback as constructive criticism and apply it in a way that helps the restaurant grow, improve the guest experience, and build long-term guests. If I see changes in the future, I would gladly give them another try. Until then, I truly wish them success.

As I have stated before I'm harder on island cuisine cause I'm an islander. Yes I love the concept I love the look, but I this is a spot I'd take my friend who liked Caribbean and didn't like their meals seasoned. Ordered the one beef and one chicken patty but when. Our order came she informed us they ran out of chicken. Not sure if they make the beef patty there or not? The filling was cool there was definitely seasoning. The crust was good. Everything with the patty reminded me of a JA Patty. I'm not saying they Tower or Tasty but it's good. The brown stew chicken was begging to be a start but ended up like an extra on a movie. The cabbage I wouldn't even call it a side of cabbage more like a garnish of cabbage was missing that mark. The peas and rice I was pleased they used dried peas and not canned and I was pleased they used coconut milk but they didn't use enough and the thyme scallions ginger allspice cloves salt were all missing like a wanted poster. Now we all know oxtails price has increased from dirt cheap high as hell, but oxtails for there price need to undoubtedly be the star of your show. These weren't the star of any show. When you eat oxtails your suppose to be like damn licking them fingers more than the colonels chicken.
