We have had several baseball gloves restrung here over the years. They do great work, fair prices, and quick turnaround..

To start off, I will say they have a very nice staff. With that being said, I went to get my lacrosse head strung for $30 the other day and it did not come out good at all. I brought it in 1 week in advance and the day it was meant to be done they said they hadn't even started it. Once I picked it up, I immediately knew the quality wasn't great but I was in a rush so I paid the $30 just for the time they spent and because I was in a rush. I just went to Lacrosse Unlimited to ask to get it restrung and they called it "atrocious" and restrung it for me for free. In short, don't get lacrosse heads strung here, make the drive to lacrosse unlimited or a place reputable to get them strung. read more

We came here to sharpen my daughter's ice skates and everyone was so friendly and talking with us. They were already sharping a pair of skates so the worker told me that it will be a little wait as the machine is occupied. The worker made sure that we felt welcomed while waiting. Always has what we need. Gotten a lot of baseball things over the past couple few years. Had my 23 year old glove restrung last year and was very happy with it. Socks, helmets, cleats, bats anything you need. Tons of lacrosse and hockey gear as well. read more

I was helped out by the owner and he was very friendly. I was able to buy a single stick that was actually in a 3 pack but he helped me out. Prices are reasonable compared with Pure Hockey that just marks everything up to unreasonable levels. read more

My smelly hockey equipment not only came back fresher than ever, but the smell of clean now lingers in my room. Instead of going to overpriced sporting goods stores, I've purchased my hockey gear at Kleen 'N Hard for several years. Mike and his employees are knowledgeable and helpful, and I've always been able to find gear suited to my level of play at an affordable price. That, and walk-in skate sharpening. Might be Worcester's best kept secret. read more

I found this shop to be very overpriced for used sporting goods. I much prefer play it again sports over this shop. We went in the evening to trade in a few items and who I believe to be the owner of the store was sharpening skates and paid no mind to us standing at the counter for atleast 5 minutes. It is a small shop and he was just at the other end of the counter. After we patiently waited talking amongst ourselves another younger employee came out from the back and talked to us about our trade in. I completely understand having to wait for someone to finish a task but to leave a customer waiting for 5+ minutes without even acknowledging them and saying something along the lines of "let me just finish up here and I will be right with you" is very poor customer service. They get one star back because the guy (believed to be owner) did end up coming into the back of the store to see if we had any questions after we did our trade in and poked around a bit. read more

Worcester, once known for prolific pond skating in Elm Park and Pure Hockey on Gold Star Blvd., is now in need of a hockey destination. Kleen n' Hard Sports fills this void. The most consistent and professional skate sharpening I've ever had. There's nothing worse than Pure Hockey or hockey rink sharpening. The staff are young and knowledgeable. Everyone seems to play at least two different sports. The shop offers Hockey, Lacrosse, Baseball, Football, Golf and repairs for any sport. This is a great place to get quality, second hand sports equipment. They have very useful starter packages for sports like lacrosse, which is very helpful when your kid is trying out a new sport that needs lots of otherwise very expensive equipment. All of the guys are very knowledgeable about necessary equipment and fit. We routinely trade up the kids' hockey skates - they have some skates in very good condition at reasonable prices. This is also one of the few places where you can continue to get your skates sharpened after the rink skate shops have closed (for the day or the season). The owner is incredibly committed to local youth sports - sponsoring many teams, tournaments, outings and even stocking certain items for teams to make the sales process easier on everyone involved. Drove out to Worcester from Boston just to go to this store and was very happy with it. They had a good selection and everything was super clean. Had no problems buying a used hockey goalie glove from them, and trading in some other stuff. Good pricing as well. read more

Talked with Mike Ciarvalo about a beginner's hockey purchase. His team was very patient and worked with us for an hour, selecting the equipment for best fit, and considering the appropriate price points for a beginner. His team was helpful in working with us to put together a customized outfit, head to toe. They threw in skate sharpening without any requests. Definitely worth the hour-long trip to meet Mike and his team. read more

Mike is so knowledgeable, professional, patient, nice, and helpful! The selection of used items was pretty extensive and the prices are quite reasonable! We came in at about 6:15 pm, and the store closed at 7 pm. We wound up leaving the store at about 9pm (even though the Bruins were playing Game 5 of the Stanley cup, that night). Mike helped us suit up our son with full hockey gear, as if he had all night. He taught us a lot! We will definitely go back to Kleen N Hard sports in the future! read more

I have used Kleen & Hard for years to decontaminate my son's ice hockey goalie gear. With any break in the season, the equipment is right back in there. The guys that work here are great! Will go above and beyond to help! Was buying a new bat for my son and trying to determin what size he needed and they even went as far to take him out in the parking lot and pretend to pitch to him to check his swing with the different sizes to determine witch one was best for him :) very helpful everytime we come! read more
