Wednesday morning, the day before Thanksgiving, a car problem I thought I had addressed two weeks earlier, happened and I found myself in desperate need of some help. Luckily I was directed to Klink's and they were able to help me. It wasn't a major problem and they were able to fix it very quickly, but had they not made the time to look at my car, I'm not sure what I would have done. I feel like they were my guardian angels and I was extremely grateful that the day before Thanksgiving, they had a full staff on site. And to boot, they charged me a very nominal fee to fix my car and get me back on the road. Tito was so nice and kind to me during the whole process, he could tell that I was very stressed out. I was referred to Klink's by a guard stationed at Camp Pendleton as that is where I went first when I realized I had an issue. Carlos is a great guy, very knowledgeable and trust worthy. I first met him many years ago (around 2006) when I purchased an Audi online from Florida- big mistake. Carlos helped me figure out all the issues with that car and got it right. I eventually sold that car and had a hand full of new cars with warranties, so I didn't need his services for years but would stop by just to say hi maybe once a year. One of my engine's piston/cylinder was not firing on the eve of New Year's Eve just as I was driving back to Colorado from San Clemente to beat a winter storm -- when my engine light started to flash. Klink's is definitely one of the few honest auto repair around town. My check engine lit up so I looked around for a good place to fix my car and I decided to bring it to a big auto repair chain (I won't mention their name) I was quoted almost $800 in repairs plus the "free" check engine diagnostic was not really free :-( disappointed with the service I decided to take my friend's recommendation: KLINK'S in San Clemente. It was a drive for me since I live in Huntington Beach, but it was so worth it!!! I will drive the extra miles so I can bring my car in to a trusted and respectful mechanic. Carlos took great care of my car and was able to fix it the same day. Even better was my bill was only a fraction of the other competitor's quote :-). Come to find out the other shop was charging me for unnecessary repairs that my car does not even need. Carlos is fantastic. He helped me out with a battery problem, that honestly any other mechanic could have ripped me off about. I don't know where to begin . I guess where my story begin Christmas Eve a little over a week ago I was on my way to San Diego to surprise my Grandmother and Mother for Christmas (I'm from LA). Just got a 06 lexus from auction haven't had any work on it . Long story short my car shut down near the hotel and I managed to get it parked and left keys in car . I looked up some shops and came across Klink's . I read some of the already outstanding reviews told him my story . He called me next morning and told me he had someone towing it to his shop same day. What a blessing in disguise. Every day he updated me . Called me . Gave me honest prices on every part asked what I wanted to do and not telling me what I had to do . Big difference ! Ended up being ground wire he did my brakes fixed my headlight and waited to last possible option to swap my alternator . All in all he had the lowest and most honest prices I now have my new mechanic . I will make the drive to Oceanside rather than any mechanic in LA just on pure work ethic and trust. He is very friendly and will always give you a straight honest answer. I live up in central Orange County and make the drive 30 plus miles south to get my car serviced by Carlos because I trust him with my cars. Let's face it, finding a mechanic you can trust is a difficult task. Since most of us are not mechanics ourselves, we are at the mercy of whatever the mechanic tells us is wrong with vehicles. Carlos been honest and fair with me on every repair he and his staff have done. He is not cheap, but gets the job done right! This is far more important to me as my time is valuable and Carlos knows this. Recently, Carlos spent a few hours trouble-shooting my 1988 BMW and could not isolate the problem. He told me he was not going to charge me anything for the time he spent, since he could not solve the problem, but I made him charge me something for his efforts, because having a trusting relationship with a mechanic like Carlos is important to me. I brought my Subaru here at the request of an other who was interested in buying it. He wanted Klinks to do a pre-purchase inspection. Our car was in perfect condition with only 66,000 miles. When we picked it up Klinks said they had tightened a hose from the transmission because there was a leak. There was not a leak before bringing it in! On the way home the tranny blew!!! They never called and asked to preform any work on my car and now are denying responsibility . They didn't even have a towing connection, I had to use my own AAA. Carlos who is the owner of Klinks is a honest reputable business man. He works on all of our cars and is very knowledgable. Just yesterday I had a fuse go out in my cigarette lighter. I went to Allen Cadillac, they were going to charge us 160 dollars to repair the fuse. Klinks fixed it for free and told us anytime its not working to come back they were kind and very helpful. Its nice to know there are still good honest people working on cars.
