While visiting Skagway on a cruise, we decided to brewery hop as we had an entire day there this was the last brewery on our stop on the way back to the ship. It is conveniently located just off the main road and fairly close to the end of town as you're walking back to the ship. It has a super cool old bar type feel. The wooden bar and wooden floor add to the aesthetic. We opted to do two different flights the brewers and the cellars as that gave us a taste of almost all of the beers. If I remember correctly, they do not have food however, they do have a couple of little snack items. We got the smoked candied salmon and it was absolutely delicious super filling, and I would most definitely order that again The beers were all pretty good. None of them particularly stood out to me as a favorite super fast service though and everyone was very nice. Prices were reasonable. Would definitely stop back in and see what's new on tap the next time we're in town. read more

We came there in the end of the season (September), so alas, they were out of the two coveted items of mine: raspberry blond beer and salmon chips. Bummer! Our super firnedly server informed us that they ran out like a month ago - I guess it has been a crazy busy tourist season. We still got a flight to taste, but nothing really stood out. We stopped into Klondike to try their beers and have a sitdown after walking around downtown Skagway. We were greeted warmly and seated on their heated back patio. It was comfortable and heated. Our waitress was super sweet and took our beer order quickly. I got the Devil's Punch Bowl Raspberry Wheat. The beers were both very good and we enjoyed some quiet conversation on comfy benches. Our waitress checked in a few times to make sure we were all good. Fantastic local brewery! I'm not even a huge beer person but I thought the beer was delicious and the staff was so kind, welcoming, and passionate about both beer and the local community! The Devils Punchbowl is genuinely one of my favorite beers I've ever had (Skagway or otherwise). Had the pleasure of getting a brewery tour from Taby and she is THE BEST! This was some of the best beer we had throughout our trip in Alaska. They had a dark beer that was the best I've ever had barring no one. I think it's called the Revenant. What a name. While visiting Skagway, someone highly recommended us to try Spruce Tip beer. Then specifically we were told that Klondike Brewing Co. was the best. Enter Austin Lincoln: We were pleasantly surprised and to be honest a bit shocked by the care and service which this Head Brewer showed us introducing us to their Whipsaw Spruce Ale. He explained the beer brewing process as well as the specific additions used in the Spruce tips process. Spruce tips even contain vitamin C ! Wonderful experience tasting this newly found beer - and I strongly dislike beer!! Would strongly recommend and would absolutely return. read more

I really like this place. It's my favorite brewery in Skagway. They have a large selection of beers and especially nice for me -they had stouts. The reserve barrel aged was a huge treat. It's got notes of vanilla and caramel. I loved it! My boyfriend enjoyed the raspberry beer. Service was excellent- friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere but seemingly made up rules about drinking beer that are off putting and result in my advice of - go elsewhere! First of all, you can't taste from the bar, rather you must be seated. Ok, hope it's worth it. Second, you can't buy a 16 ounce pint, rather a max 12 ounce pour only. Lame. The very kind waitress ( not her fault for the rules) explained they have a 36 ounce drinking limit so they chose to divide it up in 12 ounces each. Huh? From a look at the AK liquor laws there is no evidence of this being the law. One must wonder why an independent brewery would put this self imposed limit upon themselves which also limits revenue and customer satisfaction. The beer? It was ok but nothing to overcome the draconian rules. My advice is don't bother stopping here. read more

I loved this smaller brewery Skagway. Pub tables, No food (no biggie). Friendly staff. Great beers. I especially loved the fruited sour (which I forget the name). It is very near the famous Red Onion Saloon and a whole lot more chill than that (must see) tourist trap. read more

Local beer and great atmosphere. We visited Klondike Brewing late in the tourist season and were extremely grateful it was open. The interior has a nice lodge feel, but seating was pretty limited. We opted for a couple of flights. It was fun to try a variety of beer and I noticed that their brews were all very straightforward. There weren't any fruity frills or overly ambitious twists. That approach fit the vibe though and they were definitely quality brews. One downside is that their flights are fixed with no substitutions. We hate IPAs, but had to have one included in our flight. We got both fixed menu flights, though. So we got to try most of their offerings! This was definitely a lovely stop for us on our vacation. If you're with a group and want to try some local brews, getting a couple of flights here is a great option. read more

This just start this off by letting you know this is the place in Skagway to have a beer. The service was absolutely amazing. Taby was a rockstar and her energy/vibes were on point as well. We bought some awesome merchandise t shirts, tin tackers, and we ended up even coming back later in the day again. Place was super busy, bathrooms were clean, decor all around was visually appealing. Even the person who was brewing beer came out and was super friendly with us at the table. Seriously wish we lived in town so we could go to this place all the time. Place was so busy and it looked under control the whole time. Taby talked to all tables and what I consider spent a good amount of time at every table listening to people's stories. A couple of systems issues. First, they don't pour flights at all which for a tourist heavy brewery means you can't really sample without getting a ton of beer, which makes sense for locals but that's not the business model. Also they ran out of several food options by mid day which makes no sense on a tourist day either. Also, the beer garden has no places to put down beers, again making it hard to sample because you essentially have just the beer in hand or otherwise should seat yourself elsewhere. Inconvenient, and just overall some strange choices for a tourist-driven business. With that said, the service was superb and none of this to put down any of the people working the taproom; they were extremely patient, helpful, and kind. The beer was also some of the best I had in Alaska so again, kudos to the brewers. read more

We really enjoyed our stop at Klondike Brewing. It's just off the beaten path in Skagway but backs up to the train track and, if seated in the right position, faces the mountains! Their back patio is lovely and their flights are a great deal. Great beer too! I know nothing about brewing in Alaska but they impressed me! The staff was incredibly kind and it was the perfect place to take a load off after the walking throughout the day. I believe I tried the Klondike Original, Sluicehead and the Devil's Punchbowl. I was on a recent trip to Alaska and we had a long day in Skagway. After riding the railway and shopping in town we stopped in to get a drink, enjoy a local brewery, and dry off a bit. This place was popping to say the least. We were able to find a high top table within a few minutes of our arrival and all the staff we interacted with were super friendly. I ordered from the bar and my wife and I wanted to order a couple of lights to spit. Neither of us enjoy a super hoppy beer. The bartender directed me to the right choice for us. We ended up ordering a couple of flights to share. Overall we enjoyed the beer and the ambiance, however I do wish there were a few more options on the lighter side. I hate to leave a negative review, but my family had a really uncomfortable experience. We popped in for a quick drink after a nearby hike and felt very unwelcome. We had our 10 month old son with us and before our server had a chance to introduced herself she immediately said we had to put his snack away, he had to stop playing with the menu and crawling around.We were a little thrown off so ended up ordering one round, chugging down our drinks, paying the tab and leaving. Absolutely one of my fave brewery stops in all of Alaska during our family cruise up there. It's a smallish joint but packs a lot of character. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Had some nice conversations with them and other patrons coming in from one of the other cruise ships. This place puts everyone in a good mood. And why not? The beer here is delicious. So much to choose from so of course flights were in order. They serve them in large round glasses which holds a lot of brew! Porters, to lagers, to pale ales, and IPA's we tried a bunch and enjoyed.
