The ordering process was a little different here. They have their bar when you walk in and you think it would make more sense to order your beers at the bar and then sit down after but they tell you to find a table and a server will come to you. The service took a little while but the beers were pretty good and it was cool to find out that all of their beers are made with glacier water. We decided to stop here for a quick drink after our tour excursion. We got the flights and they were way bigger than what we are used to. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and helped us decide what to get as we really wanted to try the local beers. Highly recommend. read more

This place is slightly off the Main Street and not as busy as the other brewery. The service was friendly and efficient. Brewer special was offered which was a hot dog and chips but we passed on that and went straight for the beer. As a side note the root beer was very good if for some reason your not into beer. We walked in after riding the railroad up to White Pass. There weren't any tables to sit at for a group of four, but there was a table we could stand at easily. After our group had a table, I ventured to the bar to order a flight for my wife and me. I was told they were doing table service only. This place is perfect. They do one thing and one thing only - Great beer! We were greeted immediately when we walked in the door and told we could sit anywhere, including outside in the beer garden. We ordered two flights. We are from Denver and self confessed beer snobs. Wow. They nailed every style across the board. We particularly liked their IPA (no hazy, thank your favorite deity) and the bourbon barrel aged stout. There was something for everyone - spruce tip, steam beer, Pilsner, etc. we spoke to the brewer and he was happy to tell us all about the recipe and the wait staff was a delight. I can't count how many people they offered to take pictures for (including with the White Pass Train parked directly behind the brewery) or coached into picking the perfect beer selection. If we ever come back to the area, this will our first stop. Love love love these guys. Do yourself a favor and have some beers here. read more

This place was one of few breweries in town. This place was awesome. It was small and had several different beers. They had one that was in a bourbon barrel and tasted really good. It was my favorite. If you like bourbon you will like this. Loved this place. Next time I'd like to stay longer. read more

If you want a tasty brew without all the glitzy glam and fuss (it's a good thing I promise) this is the place. Walked in and the staff were so so friendly right off the bat. They knew they were a bit busy because of so many ships arriving that day and were very up front and apologetic. We weren't in a rush so we happily grabbed a barrel and a menu out on the patio. Someone was over to us almost immediately to take our order and apologized again as it may be a minute before our flights came out. We said no worries and chatted away. Less than five minutes later our flights arrived. Definitely not slow service at all. As for our flight, it was absolutely fantastic. The Original Lager was our favorite but the Devil's Punchbowl was a close second. I was bummed I couldn't bring any back on the ship lol. All-in-all a great visit. My wife and I were on an Alaskan cruise and she wanted to go off on a tough hike, so I wished her well and headed to Klondike Brewing. It is a pretty small place with some great character. The service was fantastic and the bartenders were two super nice ladies. I ordered an IPA and some dude asked me about my Old Chicago World Beer Tour jacket and asked me over to his table to hang out with him and his wife. We got to talking about my upcoming trip to Portland and he said he would send me recommendations after we exchanged numbers. He ended up buying me a beer and heading out. Really chill spot to grab a cold one on warm summer days. I didn't think that Skagway would have not one, but two awesome breweries to pop into. I also happily surprised to see that they had a back patio where folks can sit and enjoy their beers with a view of the beautiful mountains surrounding the city. We were trying to find a place to stop in town for our cruise and stopped here for lunch. The staff sold us on the Spruce Ale and we were not disappointed. Their team is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about beer. We spent several hours here enjoying the delicious beer and a brewers lunch. Klondike Brewing Co. has only been open for a little over a month and they have created some really great and unique brews that are top of the line. Take the time to venture a block off the history path to sit in the beer garden and admire the stunning view. It was so beautiful that I just sat back and admired the combo of snow capped mouthing and the passing train. The Lost at Sea coconut brown and the Double Barrel Blonde are particularly worth trying. Get a 4 beer flight and chat with the guys - they know their beer and enjoy discussing the town, the process, and their brewers. Merch is well priced and very cool. We brought home a growler to rep to the DC micro-brew culture. Here's hoping they get interviewed for the Smithsonian effort to chronicle U.S. microbrew culture in the next couple of years. read more

Update: went into Skagway Brewery which had good fish and chips but the beers were so bland! Grab some food to go and spend your day at this brewery. Stumbled in. Really cute and great beers! Only three on tap today but they were all really good. Less than $12 for a flight of three beers. Cute beer garden with Adirondacks in the back. 3 cruise ships in port but this place was quiet and easy going! Would be cool if they added big Jenga and corn toss to the seating area but no complaints. read more

Like a lot of people we were in Skagway because our cruise ship docked here. After an amazing helicopter ride over the mountains and a visit to a dogsledding camp we have the afternoon to spend in the town of Skagway. Klondike Brewing caught our eye. A great name for the area-right?! We enjoyed a few beers outside with a view of the mountains. A warm day and a cold beer. I had the blonde and sasquatch had the IPA. Unlikely we will be here again, since the getting here is so far from home, but recommend those that like a good beer and good atmosphere to enjoy it in, visit when in the area. read more

Delicious beer, but a rip-off. Ordered a tall beer with higher ABV. Was presented with a short beer, but charged for a tall. The bartender's rationale was that that's how they serve that particular beer, otherwise I'd be "walking out on my lips" (paraphrased). My husband is a craft beer fan. Makes his own and is especially fond of ipas. Really enjoyed their ipa. I enjoyed their coffee blonde and double barrel pale ale. No food is currently being served there. However one street north there is a pizzeria that serves fish n chips. Ordered that to go and ate at the brewery. Perfect combo. This place also provides outdoor seating, cool vibes. The owner came and chatted with us for a bit. read more

A wonderful break from the wine overload on the cruise ship. Of course, all of the beers are fresh and delicious... and you'll stroll back to the ship a happy camper. They do a pretty good job with service here considering the cruise goers often don't know what the heck they are doing. read more

Only tried the Trail Coffee Blonde Stout, just because it has the lowest alc content. Kind of a cross between a coffe stout and it has a Belgian-ness about it. And I love, love, love Belgians...and my Guinness--total score. Liked it so much, we got a flight of the rest they had available. They were ALL delicious!!! Walked through the rest of the town happy.
