I never expected to witness outright discrimination, but unfortunately after several chances, this post has to be made. I went out with my friend, who has a professionally trained service dog from Guide Dogs of Texas. We have been to many restaurants in BCS since she obtained him. Upon sitting down, we were told we were not allowed to be in the restaurant because of the dog. When I clarified, "Even though she's disabled?" the staff replied, "Yes, no dogs of any kind." She was shown the ADA card and still did not care. This is a clear violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which guarantees access for individuals with disabilities who use service animals. We were offered the chance to take food to-go, but since I vote with my money and obviously am not going to support a business that hates disabled people, we got up and left. They were told they would be reported and she said "Okay go ahead" I strongly urge the management of Kluay Kluay to educate themselves on the ADA. I will not be back. I will go get my pad thai elsewhere. read more

TLDR: 3.5 if I could. I'd give Kluay Kluay another shot, but get a different dish (maybe fried rice or a curry). Get it "medium" not "hot" unless you're getting oral surgery and need a preemptive local anesthetic. Overall, a nice restaurant but the location feels a bit "sketch" at night (I'd recommend going during light hours) and the food was alright - I've had life-changing Thai food in California, but Kluay Kluay might be the best in College Station ‍. I ordered the Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao. I liked the Pad Kee Mao much more than the Pad Thai, but I didn't "fall in love" at first taste. Next time, I'd try fried rice or a curry (the pineapple fried rice or green curry looks good!). Don't mess with the spice! I'm used to eating spicy foods so I chose "Hot" (from mild, medium, hot, and Thai hot), however, it was just outside my comfort zone! I'd choose medium next time I went. Say a prayer for the poor souls who choose Thai Hot. The restaurant was very empty and there was only 1 server, so it felt a little lonely and desolate. So much went wrong here that I don't even know where to begin. It took over 3 minutes to be recognized upon entry. We chose our seats and it took about 7 minutes for the waters to come out. They were short staffed as one girl was waiting on all of the tables. The veggie spring rolls were almost edible...the wrapping was super chewy. The coconut soup was not good at all as the quality of the ingredients were subpar. There was a spice or something that made it sour and the smell of it made my mother gag. The garlic beef was basically beef with broccoli and was not spicy as requested and had little to no flavor at all. My mother's pad Thai tasted like it was smothered in tomato paste and she had to cover it with a napkin because it made her nauseous. I don't know what it is about my pad thai experience in CS but it never looks like the photos in the review! We stopped by on a recent sunday and this place was EMPTY & little to no orders were being delivered. This may have deterred me, but the reviews on Yelp made me especially determined to see if this really was one of the better thai restaurants in the area. I am determined to find a pad thai i can eat in BCS! We sat down and ordered the pad Thai & pork fried rice + an order of egg rolls. We got our food, it was pretty disappointing. The meals came out first and the appetizer came out at least 3-5 minutes later. The pad Thai was dripping in red sauce. After talking to a friend about each Pad Thai experience we've had in college station where i suspected Thai restaurants using ketchup, I have since learned that many US restaurants will use ketchup as the base to give PT a darker red tint & to sub tamarind. My husband fried rice was drenched in black pepper. We ordered egg rolls but received spring rolls. did we complain? No. Why? This is a hidden GEM in cstat!! First and foremost, though the dishes are a little pricier... it's because the portions (especially the noodle dishes) are HUGE. I usually have enough leftovers for another entire meal afterwards. There seems to be only 1 server who's the only one out on the floor, but she got us everything we needed. We were seated immediately and then you pay at the counter whenever you're done which makes it an easy process. I also really enjoy the atmosphere and the guava candies afterwards! I got the Pad See Ew - 2/4 slice level with chicken and it was so delicious. The spice was as expected for a "medium", but if you can't tolerate spice well I'd order a 1. I also tried the Pad Thai - 3/4 spice level with chicken and it was spicy but good! The Yellow Curry also came with a large plate of rice not pictured. Came here for the first time with my family. We ordered the Pad kee mao (delicious), Pad thai (tasted like ketchup), Kluay kluay fried rice (probably the best flavorful dish here), Red curry (flavorful), Chicken lava (meh), Poh teak soup (large delicious portion), Cheese rolls (meh), Egg rolls (small, but delicious), and Chicken satay (delicious chicken with peanut sauce). Overall, a but pricey, but the portions are relatively large. The staff is friendly. This girl seemed to be literally the only one out in the common area. I've seen no one else here helping her. She's taking orders from multiple tables all while ringing up their tab, setting the table, and delivering the food. They appear so short that she forgot our Thai tea drink that we ordered, utensils, and never stopped by to check on us cause we were all thirsty for water. I'm not mad at her because I believe she was doing her best, but this business needs to give her some help. Parking is large and there's a lot of tables. read more

This place has HUGE portion sizes and excellent prices. I spend about $30 for two dinner size entrees and an appetizer. The food was good - like many Thai places you pick your spice level. I ordered medium and found it not to be very spicy at all. Next time I would definitely order a degree more spicy. Overall decent Thai food for the area and definitely worth the stop. Unfortunately the last three times we went were all bad experiences. The first time we went, we were seated next to the door and due to their set-up, we were freezing cold each time the door opened. The second time they charged extra for credit card payment because "their regular card machine was broken and their old machine always adds a fee" but we were not informed of this beforehand. The third time I ordered takeout via phone during COVID; after I drove 15 minutes to the restaurant they said they were all out of my order but they didn't even bother mentioning this during my phone order or subsequently calling me back. Was odd for me because they don't give you that when you buy meat bbq skewers from vendors in Thailand. Not a fan of the sauce. Too sweet for me but maybe you'd like it if you like sweet Soup and curry: AMAZING! so good . Flavors are well balanced and complex. I always go for their curry's and soups. They can also make your food as spicy as you like and it's actually spicy! Sad that when I asked, the employee didn't know if they use Thai chilis to make the food spicy. But not a huge deal! Came here with my friends who are all regulars (one comes multiple times a week). I thought the food was pretty good and one of the best Thai options in the area but nothing that knocked my socks off. We split two curries, pad ke mao, and fried rice with shrimp. The pad ke mao was my favorite. I didn't care for the curries though but everyone else loved them. The dinner portions were huge- there were 4 of us but we easily could have been filled up on 2-3 things only. I had lunch at Kluay Kluay the other day, not because of anything I had heard, but because they were serving in the restaurant. Their Shrimp Spring Rolls which were made fresh and very good. JUST WOW!!! I have never tried Thai food before so I checked out the menu on Yelp and decided to go order in store figuring a live person could help guide me. Man was I wrong. The guy that takes the orders could not have communicated to me more clearly that I was a bother to him as he was eating. There was no greeting or acknowledgment that o am a human being at all. Just gets up and stands behind the register. I said I've never had Thai food before. He said nothing. I looked at the menu a while longer and finally made my decision to try the only Thai food I've ever heard of Pad Thai. On Yelp it shows that they have pork so when he curtly asked "what meat" I said "pork". He exclaimed in an irritated manner "we don't have pork" then pointed to the meats that were on the menu. I chose beef and stayed quiet as he rung me up. I am usually pretty good about being polite to rude people, but this time I felt so unwelcome I almost walked out. Unfortunately I was hungry, so the transaction continued with me being quiet and the cashier never once talking to me, even to tell me to sign the receipt or anything normal you would get at another business. So I went to wait in my car and shockingly, the same guy brought my food out to me. However, he did the same thing: not a word, not thank you, didn't even look at me as he stuck the bag in my window, waiting for me to take it and the utensils. It was surreal! I can't wait to be back! Just kidding. I will be sharing this story all over town because in the end all I can do is laugh about it. When you open up a restaurant and you communicate that your potential customers aren't welcome, then you have a conflict of your goals in opening the restaurant. Very economical Thai food!! Sixteen ounce mug of Thai ice tea $2.50 and small bowl of Tom Kha Kai soup $4 made a fine & inexpensive light dinner. The "small" bowl was a regular cereal bowl size, so not so small at all. At these prices, we're talking high value eating. Ice tea was usual sweet flavor & caffeine punch. It came to table with the expected layer of sweetened milk floating over the tea. Typical, but tasty. Tom Kha Kai soup was strong on coconut milk flavor & very light on curry paste taste, being yellow curry would be my guess. In the soup were *LOTS* of strips of chicken breast meat, a couple different kinds of mushrooms, and strips of onion. Overall the soup was light in body & taste. The pad see ew was bland, the noodles kept breaking apart and were undercooked, the vegetables were also undercooked and very bland. The cheese rolls were descent but not authentic.
