The crab Rangoon had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. The dough was tough and there was very little filling. I ordered Volcano chicken which was advertised as crispy chicken with a spicy sauce. It was neither. The sauce was a sickeningly sweet corn syrup based atrocity with not a hint of spice. The chicken was not breaded and crispy and they thought adding a smattering of shredded iceberg lettuce would make it appealing. Here's a hint, it did not. I will never eat at this restaurant again. The wonton soup is nothing more than 2 crispy potstickers in some broth. They are not real wontons. I ordered an entree that was very bland and did not taste good at all. In fact, it tasted stale. Don't order the Mongolian Beef! The manager looked at me like I was an idiot and said, that's just how it tastes. Clearly this "manager" is too young and is not aware of American restaurant culture. Customer service involves resolving the issue and he did not. He did not offer to replace my meal with something different or comp the meal. I can't believe I had to pay for this trash. I'd give Imperial 6 stars if I could! We started with a really solid hot & sour soup-served hot with a rich, but not overly thick broth. For dinner we made some special requests. Happy Family and China Town Stir Fry. The dishes are similar, so I asked for my dish to be a bit spicy. So my "brown sauce" had a slightly red tint from the chili paste. The flavor was excellent with just the right amount of heat. But here's where it got tricky. The stir fry dishes are cooked in a fryer before the go into the wok. And of course lots if sugar is added to the sauce. When we balked, the server suggested we have the meat, chicken, etc steamed rather than fried. And he requested no addition sugar. A few minutes after we placed our order, the manager came out to inform us that the meats are marinated in corn starch before cooking and would that be an issue for us. We said it was fine. A few minutes later, dinner was served piping hot, and absolutely delicious. Honestly, as good of a Chinese meal as we've ever had in a city of any size. Another bonus? Fried rice, white rice, brown rice. All available. And no games with added costs. And after we started our dinner, both the waiter and manager came to our table to make sure we were pleased. I had an order for pickup from this restaurant. It was my first time and probably my last time. First off, their menu is huge. There are tons of different options. In this lies a problem. I was reading orders directly off of their menu from their website and being corrected with what they THOUGHT I was asking for. After ordering, I pick up my food, get home and find out I have the wrong order. I wanted and ordered a hibachi fried rice. What I got was a hibachi combo with steamed rice. After calling the restaurant they ARGUED with me till finally I was told to bring the food back. I got what I originally ordered but the experience was NOT very pleasant. The oil is fresh, the wok hei has personality, the food is always cooked correctly and the vegetables and meats and seafood are fresh no matter what time of year it is. Calamari was frozen and flash fried. Fryer oil is old, leaves a dark coloration on the food, stale taste and heavy crusty coating that just falls off. The owner of this place is a really nice guy that knows how to cook. He is so hard working, I'd love for him to be successful. My advice to him- scale down the menu. There are too many items to keep fresh and make a profit as it is now. A smaller lease space or subdividing the current one would help a lot. read more

I'm so sad not to have a great rating for Imperial. The customer service was actually quite good. I called in my order and the server was confused about a sauce I asked for. When we picked up the food, she had googled it and gave us something similar. I appreciate small gestures like that, because she really didn't have to look into it for us. I wish our food matched the service! We ordered a variety. Avocado roll, veggie lo mein, crab rangoon, spring rolls, sesame chicken, and curry fried rice. The lo mein was pretty good, but everything else was extremely disappointing. We make homemade take-out a lot, but I was sick this evening and wanted something fast. The fried rice was just bland. The wonton wrappers were stale, and you can tell because they get thick and chewy. They aren't crispy and taste old. The avocado roll was not great, and the sesame chicken comes in huge chunks that are impossible to fit in your mouth. Even cutting it with a knife, it was dry and overcooked. There were pieces of hardened chicken inside and it made me lose my appetite. I like white meat, but you can easily ruin it by frying it for too long. I was really excited to try the food after reading so many good reviews, but unfortunately, this is just another mediocre restaurant. This place has the best sushi!!! The service is incredible, every time I call to place an order, the phone is answered before it rings thrice. I love their more affordable rolls (California, Philadelphia, Shrimp Tempura) as well as their specialty rolls. I had some work to do in the area and couldn't leave, so I was happy to see a Chinese restaurant neary. Mixed reviews, but I was hungry and beggars can't be choosers. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken meal which was $13 and included rice and soup. I got hot & sour soup and it was great, though it came in a very strange container for soup and made it difficult to eat on the go. The General Tso's Chicken was a decent portion, but it was way too saucey for my liking. To make matters worse, when I opened up the rice container, it was sloppily filled so probably only was 60% full. I put all of the rice in the General Tso's and it was STILL too saucey. I almost drove back to the restaurant to get another rice to fix it. The sauce was sweet, so it was just too much for me. The chicken, however, was beautiful huge pieces of white meat quality chicken, so that was nice. The food was also ready in like 10 minutes. Maybe next time take an extra 2 minutes to not throw it all together, guys? read more
