My wife and I loved working with Kevin and his team. From the first meeting to the final product, they were professional and took the time to get to know us. This contributed to a great final product that captured our special evening wonderfully. For our engagement shoot, Kevin was very patient and understanding when we wanted to do two locations that were far from one another (Old Pasadena and Laguna Beach). We selected Kevin as our wedding photographer after emailing him several times and appreciated his prompt and informative responses. During our engagement session, he managed to capture wonderfully artist shots of us and also had a very friendly personality. While Kevin showed us the pictures after each shot, we were taken away by the scenery a bit too much and didn't realize some problems with my smile until we reviewed the pictures afterward even though Kevin politely suggested smiling more during the session. I must have been out of it that day. However, the session was very useful in preparing ourselves for how to smile for the pictures on our wedding day. There were still numerous photos that were great for printing and placing on easels for our wedding reception. Kevin was very helpful with instructing us on how to pose for each picture and selecting locations that were more secluded from the crowds. On Dec 27, 2014, my wife and I met Kevin and Jonathan for our wedding day photos. They worked their magic to capture wonderful shots of us with our bridal party and also genuine moments of our day. Probably the best wedding decision we made! COORDINATING/BOOKING I reached out to KLV among several photographers when we decided to plan our wedding within a month and the professionalism, sheer talent, and responsiveness from KLV stood out to me by far. I connected with Megan via zoom call and felt she actually listened to the scope of my vision for that day. She was thorough, gave detailed explanations of the process and suggested an appropriate photography package for the day. Coordinating and communicating with Megan was incredibly seamless and, from a professional standpoint , I really appreciated her responsiveness. It truly made planning easier for me. DAY OF EXPERIENCE I'm an event manager for luxury properties and decided to coordinate my own wedding (super bad idea, but felt like a necessary risk as we were minimizing vendors during this pandemic). Even with knowing what I was getting myself into and having a small wedding with just our families, I was still a hot mess at the start of my wedding. Kevin, my photographer that day, was incredibly easy to work with even during the moments when we deviated from our original plan. My entire family loved him! He was beyond patient with us all (especially my groom who loves to mess around), was super detailed, professional and so unobtrusive. I wasn't sure what the photos were going to look like, but at that point, I knew KLV was an amazing decision just with the experience thus far. POST EVENT I was expecting the usual 4-6 weeks turnaround time after our wedding to see photos but was pleasantly surprised to receive an email with a link to our photos less than 3 weeks after our wedding. I believe they also send out a USB of the photos as well. The photos are incredible. A lot of our wedding was homemade and we tried to DIY a renovation of our dilapidated backyard into something hospitable in a short amount of time, and, even with so much unfinished, Kevin was able to capture a rustic and bohemian feel I didn't think could translate into photos. He effectively hid the parts we didn't have time to finish and highlighted the best parts of our manual labor. The composition of his photos and his ability to take advantage of the beautiful lighting we get in that short golden hour is incredible. His sheer talent is abundantly apparent. My husband actually had to convince me to consider photography as I initially didn't see the value and wanted to just be in the moment instead of spending my day posing for shots. Now I couldn't imagine not having KLV as part of our day. Upon request, we got our posed shots quickly out of the way and he was still able to capture candid moments in a way that looks as if they had to have been posed for. He worked against so much and in restricted parameters and yet the quality of his work didn't suffer at all. KLV was the most seamless part of our wedding experience and, considering what we got, their pricing is beyond a value (they came in about half of what I originally allotted for the photography budget). I have to confess, the first thing I did after getting engaged was to look for a wedding photographer. I'm a photography enthusiast so knew I needed more time to look for a photographer than most people. We got married in Southern California, but live in the Bay Area so we had Kevin come up north for our engagement photos. We had a large wedding party and it was in the high 80s the day we got married and Kevin and his team pushed through the heat and bridal party madness and caught some fantastic shots of our day. My fiance and I had our first engagement shoot ever with Kevin. Kevin definitely have an eye for places to shoot. I saw a photo on his Instagram and immediately fell in love with the location and the way he captured the couple. So I asked him to take us there and do a 1-hour shoot for us. On the day of the shoot, Kevin was very friendly and he was very good at "tricking" us to smile and just be ourselves. My fiance had trouble smiling for the camera so he told him to make an "eee" sound which ended up with all of us laughing. Jenna was patient and did a great job capturing our family of 13. We've been wanting to update our family photos for quite some time but kept on delaying it for one reason or another. Then we finally scheduled a photo shoot with Jenna, then Covid hit. We had to reschedule a couple other times but Meg and Jenna were great and very accommodating. Jenna was patient on the day of our session and spent the time to make sure we had multiple backdrops for the photos. I stumbled upon Kevin's yelp after weeks of looking for a photographer, and with one look at his portfolio, I knew instantly that I wanted Kevin to be our photographer. Our meeting at his studio was pleasant as he made us feel very comfortable with his calm, confident vibe. He's friendly but also very professional and organized. He was always prompt at responding to emails and texts, and he provided us with great suggestions for Southern California locations and hotels for getting ready. As for the actual photo sessions, the poses feel a bit awkward at first but Kevin knows what he's doing. I was initially worried about how some of the pictures would turn out (because of the location I chose), but rest assured he has a natural gift for making a regular old hotel room look elegant. Jonathan was the second photographer at our wedding and he was awesome too! We just got our photos and we are so happy with them! The photos are breathtaking. They arrive in a sleek wooden box with the Kevin Le Vu symbol. We hope to use Kevin Le Vu photography for future life events. Oh man, I am so behind in writing Kevin and his team a review. To preface this, my now husband, did not want us to spend an arm and a leg on a photographer, but when I spoke with my friends who were already married, they reinforced the idea that it is very important to have a good photographer. Your wedding happens hopefully only once in your life and you want all those moments to be captured perfectly. As I was doing my research, I really wasn't sure what I was looking for but when I stumbled upon Kevin's site, there was something about his photography that captured my eye. It was definitely the vibrant colors and stylistic approach that each of his pictures represented. I talked to my friend (who is an amazing wedding photographer) and looking at the options I presented to her, she supported Kevin's work. She probably used some photography terminology too that I didn't understand. Even then with my indecisiveness, I wanted to keep my options open (I have an issue with commitment). My husband and I met with a total of 3 photographers. We liked Kevin and one other photographer the most, but what really helped us seal the deal was the fact that even though we had not yet finalized Kevin as a photographer, he sent us a follow up email after our initial meet and greet, and supplied some wonderful ideas/locations for our engagement shoot based on our conversation at the meeting. He was also flexible with our time frame for the wedding day. Kevin is very humble, kind, and knows exactly what he is doing. When we were at our engagement shoot, I was worried because for one, I'm not girly and two, I do not know the first thing about posing or looking good in a picture. Kevin walked us through each picture and patiently told me to either fix my hair or helped guide us on what to do for the pictures. The pictures turned out fabulous! For our wedding, the only comment we had was to take pictures of our family and friends and extra candid shots (especially the ones where my husband and I are weird, we're kinda weird and goofy). I recently received my pictures and I could not be happier! The pictures and style of each shot is amazing and it takes me down memory lane of our wedding day. There were so many great shots of our family and friends having the time of their lives at the reception and a lot of wonderful candid shots where my husband and I were in our natural state of weirdness. My day of coordinator had nothing but praise for Kevin and his team (having worked at many weddings). Kevin is professional, positive, patient, and truly a pleasure to work with. You can't go wrong with Kevin and his team and you can expect amazing service from the beginning to end! He will respond to you within a day from your point of contact, inquiry, and he does not falter to put your mind at ease prior to your engagement and wedding day. I was so impressed by the dedication and hard work he showed during the wedding. He knew what pose to have us in and what background looked amazing! He is super genuine and it shows he really enjoys what he does. I never felt like I was just a dollar sign to him. My Wife and I threw a 1 Year Birthday Celebration for our Daughter last week and quite honestly, I had no idea that Kevin Le Vu would be our Photographer because I was busy with my work and my Wife was choosing all of the vendors. Needless to say, we truly, I truly, was and am still so grateful and happy to have met and worked with Kevin! We worked with two other photographers in our lives for our Wedding and Baby Shower. However, we weren't 100% happy with the level of Member service and the finished product. Kevin Le Vu seriously delivered on all fronts...Kevin made my Wife and I feel so relaxed (even during the heat!!!) when we were posing for pictures, Kevin knew where to place us for photos and guided us so confidently and kindly, lastly...Kevin BLEW OUR MINDS AWAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY with the finished product!!!!!!!!!! Wedding planning can get overwhelming, but picking Kevin Le Vu Photography as our engagement/wedding photographer was one of the easiest and best decisions we made. I relied so much on Yelp when searching for wedding vendors and so glad I came across Kevin's page. We appreciated Kevin's creative eye for capturing great photos and his friendly and down-to-earth personality throughout the whole experience, as it can be uncomfortable (at least for me) having your photos taken while romantic embracing your significant and kissing, while still trying to look good, haha. Kevin and his team are very responsive with e-mails/calls, always arriving earlier than set times, professional, and very honest with their opinions/suggestions. For our engagement shoot, my fiance (at the time) and I wanted to travel somewhere that reflected our love for the outdoors. We picked Antelope Canyon & Horseshoe Bend and glad Kevin & John were excited to go there too! Kevin and his entire team are the best wedding vendors we've had the pleasure to work with. I owe them so much that I cannot even begin to express my gratitude. If you don't have the time to read my entire review I can tell you this much - you won't regret hiring them for your wedding or any other special event you have in mind. I am saying it as it took me a while to accept this cliche. I am pretty calm and relaxed person in general, so I thought I would be able to handle everything on my own without too much stress. Yeah, right! Silly me! I had to plan and organize everything as my husband and I paid for the wedding out of our own personal savings. We had a budget and we were trying to balance between what we wanted and what we really could afford. One thing I knew for sure from the very beginning was that I want to have a great photographer who can capture the moments and leave us with great memories for years to come. I am happy to say that we got exceptional photographers. I found Kevin's pictures on Pinterest and I was so impressed by his work that I immediately send him an email. He responded in a few hours with specific details about the services he and his team can provide and even offered to meet with us in his office. Prior to speaking with Kevin I had a list with preferred vendors from the venue we booked as well as some other recommendations from friends. None of these vendors responded as professionally as Kevin. With other studios, I hardly ever got a chance to talk to the photographer himself. On a few occasions that I did actually got a hold of him/her, I felt pressured to book them right away. Otherwise, they weren't quite interested in spending time to answer my questions. Kevin, however, was exactly the opposite. We had a FaceTime meeting as we live a little far from his office. He explained everything in details and took the time to get to know me and to learn about my expectations. He was open to any questions and even gave me suggestions and ideas about the wedding. He even gave us different price options to fit our needs and our budget. So then and there I decide that my search is over. We had an amazing engagement photoshoot at The Griffith Observatory and Downtown Los Angeles. That's the first time my husband met Kevin and Jonathan, who was the second photographer at our wedding. My husband was very impressed by both of them. Let me tell you, he doesn't like taking pictures at all, especially when there are strangers around. He didn't have any problem posing in front of Kevin and Jonathan. I was genuinely surprise to see him "modeling" on our wedding day. They took so many great portraits of him that I was like "WOW, I couldn't even ask for more!" Another extraordinary thing that make Kevin and his team stand out from anyone else is that they were always so punctual and patient. For both our engagement session and our wedding they arrived at least 30 minutes early. They had time to set up, look around for cool spots, to get familiar with the venue. They never looked at the time or made us feel like we need to hurry or move quicker. They were taking their time to ensure they have the best shots. All these was reflected in the gorgeous pictures. I know they are from my wedding so it probably sounds super cheesy and you are thinking of course you like them, they are pictures of you and your loved ones on your wedding day. But it's not just that. Both Kevin and Jonathan were able to capture so many candid shots of things happening at our wedding, some of which I missed or didn't remember as I was dancing or talking to other guests. Moments I will get to see because of them. They also took pictures from different angles, brought extra lighting, had ideas of where in the venue we should go or how to pose. I can go on and on about how amazing they all were. We were lucky to meet Megan as well. She is the brilliant mind behind the website, social media, etc. and she also works as a photographer and videographer. She was our videographer for the day. I am so extremely happy that at the last minute we added this to our package as I would have regret not having any videos of the day. Megan was there the entire day doing her magic. They all did an exceptional work. They blended so well with the atmosphere. Half of the time I didn't even remember that there were people taking pictures and videos of us.
