During a stressful time like planning a wedding, Kevin was a solid vendor, we were excited to work with. I researched his work on Yelp and really liked the vibe. It's been about a year now talking with him from booking to finishing up our wedding this summer. Kevin is positive, responsible, reliable, and very easy to work with. I feel like you get what you pay for with wedding photography and I feel like Kevin was very fair with his prices. His packages include an engagement shoot which I wasn't wanting initially but I am so glad I did it after I saw the photos. You schedule a consultation with him and he suggested a really great hidden location that had sequoia trees because I want to have a forest look. it was my dream come true and there is even a second location on a grassy hill. Kevin really spent several hours with us to get so many shots. Kevin took the time to write a really nice, personalized blog with sneak peaks of engagement shoot. The wedding day was really hectic but it was really great having Kevin and his assistant John capture all the moments during the day and night. I had my wedding at wayfarers Chapel and they do not allow photographers at the front of the church. Somehow they managed to capture amazing shots. I will say that Kevin and his assistant were so patient with a not so nice employee of the church and with my demanding friends/family. It was eight hours of filming and I had them travel to a separate reception venue which was about 8 hours away. Photos take about 5 to 6 weeks to arrive but it comes in this beautiful wood box and wood USB with a thank you card. One of my non negotiables when first planning our wedding was the photographer. I wanted nothing but the best. When we were shopping around I came across KLV Photography and I'm so glad that we did. My husband and I had 8 weeks to plan the wedding we had postponed for two years because our venue would not allow us to push it back any further. Update: KLV team tried to dispute my exact review below on Wedding Wire lol. This means the review is taken off until IF/when WW decides to contact me for verification. Shady. I'll try to be as succinct as possible with this review, but there are a lot of details. I posted screenshots so I wouldn't have to reiterate the details here. We hired the KLV team as our wedding day photographer, added the photobooth & hardcopy photoalbum. The photos were great , and Kevin and Michael were obviously experienced and familiar with our venue so they knew the best spots to take pictures. The team has also been accommodating to all the changes and postponements we had to make due to COVID, which we greatly appreciate. My problem lies with their communication and attitude. I have a list below of issues I've had with the team (see screenshots for more details). Please note that almost all of these items would've been non-issues for me and I would've never brought these up again if it weren't for the last item. 1) Overcharged on initial invoice -- this was noted and corrected, but for future clients, please be sure to double check all your charges for this and all other vendors. 2) Company changed domains and contact emails sometime this year. I did not receive any notification, and none of the emails I sent to the original address had a bounceback or were forwarded. I had some questions about timelines about 6 weeks before our date and only received a response ~3 weeks after I decided, on a whim, to send to the email we were getting automated messages from. It was pretty frustrating because up to this point it had been a year since we've been in contact. To the KLV team, as noted in their most recent email to me that there's really no need for us to communicate until around a month out when the coordinator sends the timeline -- I only reached out because a) my coordinator asked if I did and b) because I had questions about having enough time for everything in the timeline (which my coordinator also suggested I reach out to you about). 3) I initially said to KLV that they switched from Jenna to Kevin as our main photographer without notifying me. This was actually incorrect on my end and my apologies to the team for my misunderstanding. It was a little confusing because Jenna became main point of contact for the timelines and I assumed she would be the main photographer, then communications switched to Kevin; this was done all through the same email contact. 4) We received our photos and had asked three questions (see screenshot for further details). Meg responded and ended the email with this: "Thank you for your understanding and I hope the other 1153 images will suffice for remembering your wedding day." I have a problem with this statement and I would not be the only one who would have a problem with it. It is snarky, rude, and completely unprofessional. I am completely okay if there were no better photos or if it would be out of scope of contract for more photos; this isn't the problem. I am not okay with this sort of attitude when we've been nothing but courteous to KLV throughout our communications. I even went online to post on a wedding forum to see if I'm overreacting and the consensus was that this statement was completely uncalled for and unprofessional. I reached out to the KLV team to share my thoughts about the experience I had with the communications and the response I got winded down to this: "We apologize if that you feel the way you do"; there was also further reiteration of 1153 photos (lol). To anyone looking to hire a wedding photographer: Be very clear about what pictures you want, make sure everyone looks the same way, and maybe even have multiple poses for important family pics to be safe. With both sides of the family, we have only 7 people (including us) and only got two pictures of the entire group and only one we can use. Inevitably, not everyone will be 100% happy with their photos. Clients should have the right to ask questions (within reason) without feeling like they're being attacked or given attitude. Given the number of positive reviews for this company, I'm surprised I had to deal with these issues. For anyone looking to hire KLV as a photographer: I have no doubts about the quality of their work but would not recommend if you want to feel comfortable about asking questions and are looking for more professionalism. To the KLV team who are probably reading this: I will reiterate once again that the minor incidences that occurred previously were not an issue. It is also not an issue that some photos were ruined because people blinked and or that there weren't further photos to be shared -- we understand this. Kevin was always professional, honest, and friendly from the very get-go. I did a LOT of yelping before I came across Kevin's work, and my husband and I are thrilled that we chose Kevin. In fact, we chose him as our photographer about 1.5 years before our April 2017 wedding. THAT'S how certain we were that he would be our photographer (yes, for an entire year and a half, we did not change our mind). Kevin was very open to hearing our ideas about what we envisioned, and he and Jonathan executed exactly what we had hoped for! Let me tell you, Bill and I are a tough sell. Where do we even start? Jenna and Kortney (our photographers) did an AMAZING job at capturing our engagement and wedding day in the most professional and candid way. All of our guests loved them. Let me start off by saying that my husband and I did a lot of research when looking for our engagement/wedding photography team and we spent hours looking at portfolios online. Ultimately, we decided to give Kevin Le Vu a call and have a meeting in person because we finally liked what we saw. This was literally the best decision we have ever made. Engagement Photoshoot: Kevin was our main photographer for our engagement and wedding photos. He was very patient and kind and took his time to scope out the Arcadia arboretum for the best shots, including one with a peacock (we were very scared to be pooped on!!). Also it was a very hot day and I was borderline fainting to the point where Kevin and my now husband had to carry me to a water fountain to drink water. He never complained and he never deducted our time. He continued the photoshoot and gave us EXTRA TIME (he did not include my "almost fainting" time). He remained patient with us throughout the entire shoot. He made us feel very comfortable and natural. At our second location, we brought our dog and Kevin was a natural! It was nice that he was able to incorporate our dog into our photos as he is such a big part of our lives. Wedding day photoshoot: Kevin was the main photographer for the bride (me) and Khoa was the main photographer for the groom (my husband). Let's just say it was the best day ever. Kevin was patient with me and took the time to take extra photos. It was cold and had rained earlier in the morning in Malibu, CA so I was freezing. They both were patient with me and let me change into my UGGS for photos that didn't reveal my shoes. They made us feel so comfortable and we had a blast during the photo shoots as well! The photos turned out AMAZING. We got our photos online through a portal and we recieved a USB with the actual photos in the mail. This review has been LONG overdue. We had our wedding in May, but from the very beginning, Kevin and his team made us feel like old friends. We had booked them nearly a year and a half before our wedding. We knew we had made the best choice. The package we booked with them included an engagement shoot. We had no idea where to start, but Kevin helped us pick our clothing choices and the location. Without his help, we would've been lost in the process. It was awkward at first, since we've never done a photo shoot. But, as the engagement shoot continued, we got comfortable and opened up more. Jenna was our photographer for our engagement and wedding. We got married in late June. We were already familiar with Jenna's work since she photographed two of our friends' weddings. My wife and I loved Kevin and team, they did things we didn't expect to. We ran into a lot of issues with many wedding vendors but we ran into almost none with KLV. They are reliable and could be trusted, which unfortunately was not the case for a couple of my vendors. The last thing you want for your wedding is someone you can't trust, having additional anxiety and worry for a wedding is something you should avoid at all costs! We picked KLV because we saw them and heard about them at some other weddings and people were happy with them. I could definitely tell why. Our engagement photos were great. They delivered on our wedding and gave us a nice article we didn't know existed, nice care package, and KLV people were 90% on top of things. KLV wasn't exactly our photo style, and we did ask for more action shots than the wedding, lovey dovey type photos. We had almost none of those but if you see KLV photos and it is your style than you're going to love how reliable and nice KLV is. We postponed our wedding 18 months so I am a bit sad that we don't talk regularly after talking for years. we get nice instagram posts from them periodically and it is pleasant when I think about KLV. It was pure happenstance that I came upon KLV while researching photographers for my surprise engagement in Lake Arrowhead. Between scheduling a consultation for packages/pricing with Meg to consultation for shoot logistics with Jenna it felt like zoom hangouts with longtime friends and made my experience so wonderful and enjoyable! I instinctively turned down the other photographer options knowing that KLV would take care of us. KLV are such seasoned pros and they were so welcoming of my input and suggestions. We seamlessly interwove our thoughts and our shared vision for the end product was so reassuring. I ended up upgrading from the 1 hour shoot to 2 hour shoot to document both the surprise proposal and engagement and it was the right decision all the way. I posted my first review of Kevin a year ago and now, a week after our big day, we're still in awe of Kevin, his team, and of course, their beyond spectacular work product. They say that the biggest investment any pair should make for their wedding is their photography. It is the physical, visual reconnection with your wedding day-arguably the most important day of a couple's life. We knew from friends, reviews and our own e-photos that Kevin was the best. And I would never settle for less. There's an intricacy in his work. He isn't just snapping photos. His methodology, even with placement of lighting and catching the best angles--its an art form he's mastered. Not only that, Jonathan is also learning this same craft. It's amazing what this team can put together and how much emotion is captured -- even with those who aren't comfortable in front of a camera. Kevin made sure to get all the shots I requested, and was even nice enough to take pix with my guests' cellphones upon request. They are fun, accommodating and just work with the rest of your vendors to create a stress free day. He's prompt with emails and texts and even apologizes for responding an hour late!!! We had Kevin/KLV for both our son's and daughter's weddings. I am the father and writing this review because photography has been my hobby for 20 plus years. We are ecstatic with our choice, and if I could give KLV 6 stars, I would. 1. First and foremost, the pictures are absolutely beautiful. Kevin is a seasoned veteran and it shows. Sharpness is amazing; posing, color, and saturation are spot on. Even on in-house shots (of tea ceremony) where he had to use flash, the pictures came out as if there were natural lighting. 2. Kevin is courteous, pleasant, easy to work with, and extremely professional. He helped with posing and made the bride and groom feel comfortable. All the key shots (vow, cake cutting, speech, 1st dance, etc.) were taken, nothing missing. If you like a certain vibe or background, etc., let him know, it will be done. 3. IMHO, don't miss the 2 important photo shoots: the "Engagement Session" typically a few months before the wedding, and the so called "Romantic Session" where the bride and groom (and bridal party) have their pictures taken BEFORE the ceremony. Because everyone has time and is relaxed, these sessions result in many beautiful and romantic/artsy shots. I enlarged a couple from each session to 20x30 inch canvas prints (by Richard Photo Lab) and framed them for display at the wedding (engagement pics) and later, in their homes. 4. Meg is the manager and is so helpful every step of the way. Meg worked with the bride and groom on the crucial timing of various "sessions" and recommended locations for photo shoots. In short, KLV Photography is a first class and professional team that is very pleasant to work with, and receives my VERY HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION. read more

This review is long overdue, but well deserved for this entire team! Our wedding was in November 2019 and we were recommended to the KLV team by a family member who also works in the wedding industry. After looking over many options, we decided to go with KLV Photography because of the packages, pricing, and it was what we were looking for in regards to our photos. Note: we did not do an engagement photo shoot since it was being gifted to us by someone else, however, I would highly recommend it as it can be part of the package. Not to mention, they do extensive research for it based on what I have seen. We inquired via their website and it was met with a timely response from Meg. We met with Meg on a FaceTime meeting where we spoke with us about who were are as a couple, our vision for our wedding, and late filled us in with what to expect from their team. She was nice, welcoming, and engaged in us as a couple. It was very comforting since the wedding planning process can be very stressful. We were later assigned our photographers, Jenna (lead) and Kortney. We met with Jenna later in the year to discuss us and what she had planned for the day of. She was very attentive and response on emails and texts were immediate, given they weren't in the middle of another photo shoot/wedding. There is a questionnaire that they send you on their customer portal that gives them an idea of how to plan out the day. Since my husband was getting ready at a separate location, the two photographers split apart to each location to get"getting ready" photos. I was so happy they could accommodate. Not to mention, they also met all of us at Eisenhower Park to get our first look photos. This is where we did a good amount of our photos with our wedding party. In addition to that, they were great at getting the shots we wanted at the wedding and extremely professional. The wedding party blended well together with them and they fit right in. Kevin was one of the vendors that I felt super solid about going into wedding planning. He is a delightful blend of being friendly, but also very organized and on top of the small but important details. He was so quick to respond to emails and provided us suggestions when we had decided we wanted to take pictures off-site and he worked beautifully with our wedding planner, and videographer. I wish i had more words to explain how awesome I think Kevin and his team are. The biggest thing I really liked was how comfortable he made us feel from the get-go when we first met him. He is very approachable and yet also displays a quiet leadership. He is very organized- this is a HUGE deal when you're planning a wedding because I knew he was on top of things. I remember him telling me that he wanted to get them for our wedding as well because they were very professional and they knew his "good angles" hahaha! We then met up with Kevin and Jon at their fullerton office. They were so down to earth and professional, I was sold that day! We also saw some of their great work online! We booked them right away! We initially got the package that included an engagement session and day of coverage. However, one of my bridesmaids (who is also a wedding photographer) offered to do our engagement session instead. Kevin was very flexible and offered an extra 2 hour coverage the day of the wedding in replacement of our engagement session!! He also emailed back right away anytime I had a question! The day of the wedding, I was shocked that they arrived earlier than expected. They said that they wanted to capture the "getting ready" moments. I truly appreciated that! The entire day..all I remember was Kevin and Jon working tirelessly to capture all the amazing moments! I remember seeing sweat drops from kevin and jon's face but they didn't care!
