I love this BBQ spot compared to the rest in the area. You can do what you want apart from the tables wants and needs because it is buffet style. I don't care for short ribs as much as my husband, so as he filled his plate I can focus on things I'll actually eat without feeling like I need to help him out with a set portion. You take what you actually want without feeling like you need to be dedicated to a whole serving of something you don't love. Service is quick clean and fun even on a busy night. My family came for dinner table of 6 and they helped us so fast, with drinks and switching out our grills when they're burnt. They're a few bucks cheaper than competitors in the area and their more authentic atmosphere and flavors keep me coming back Thanks

This place generally hit all the basics of a Korean bbq. We came for the lunch special, which for the price was fair. Very Self-Serve, we thankfully came at a not so busy time, but I could imagine that being competitive if it got busy. The meat quality was good, service was great, never had to ask to get my water refilled. My only tiff was the charcoal grilling was very advertised, but didn't seem available when we ate. I was under the impression that's how we'd be eating before we arrived but was given otherwise. Ambience was no frills Korean bbq.

Totally my good to spot when I am feeling like a fat boy! Enjoy everything about this place. Smaller Korean BBQ restaurant outside of Korea! But pack with quality service and menu items. As far as an AYCE this my only recommendation in the North County. Highly Recommended!

When I arrived, the restaurant was packed. I had to check in and take a number, but they managed to seat us in under 10 minutes. If you're not into crowds, I would definitely avoid Sunday's. My usual visits are during the weekdays when they open first thing for lunch. You get first pick of the buffet offerings and it's much more enjoyable without the crowd. My faves are the Chow Mein, Teriyaki Beef, Fried Rice and Honey Walnut Shrimp. So....if you have a craving for AYCE buffet, check it out!

The place smells decent, decently easy to find so no issues there. Cleanliness: the Buffett definitely needs some upgrading and cleaning. The rug smells and feels sticky to walk on, the counter area was clean but the ice cream section needed a deep clean, the cones were out of the packing and stale. The sprinkles were covered in ice cream and all over the place. The machine was covered in dried ice cream and caked on. I did not go into the restrooms, so I am not sure Food: cold. Everything except for the hibachi I got was cold. Shrimp, pork, chicken, all cold. They have an okay variety of deserts but other than the coffee and orange ones they were pretty bad. The flavor of the food was good, but the temperature of it was what really grossed me out and worry about food poisoning. It was during dinner at around 4pm so crab legs were included. My daughter devoured them and so did I. Best part of the buffet. Customer service: the waiters were very nice and kept our table clear. As soon as they notice we had our empty plates they would come around and grab them. I did notice and maybe it was just for that moment but we did get different waiters just grabbing our plates. Maybe they are doing a system where everyone waits on every table. Whatever they were doing it worked! We did mention at the end that our food was cold after we had paid and all because we were asked how we liked it. She did apologize and told us we should have brought up sooner so they could warm it up. That since it was slow the food gets cold. It was nice she apologized and all, but working in the food industry myself it is not any of the customers job to remind you to keep an eye on food temps. And you're supposed to keep food hot. Regardless they were nice. Would I come back? No. Would I recommend it? No. $60 for two adults $9 for my 4 yr old and $5 for my two yr old. So basically $80 for a family of 4 for cold food. Flavor was good though. So if you want to try it maybe you're lucky and get hot foods

BUT this one ain't it! There were a handful of items that were decently edible like mashed potatoes and gravy. The salad bar was also alright. It's difficult to mess up chopped lettuce mix because it only requires opening a bag or container and pouring the contents into the bin. Fried chicken was fine as long as you are able to get a piece or two. I noticed if you come in later in the evening, the food is not replenished so you are stuck with bottom of the bin caked on dry remnants. Here are the highlights: the server bringing the drinks and busing tables was doing her best to be happy and welcoming. One of the cooks was very courteous and also did her best to anticipate customer needs. They get two thumbs up! Now for the fun part: The clam chowder was too salty and had an aftertaste of old dirty towel, promising a fitting end to my evening with a bad tummy ache. The cook making the steak didn't seem to care about communicating a single word with the customers. Her sole purpose was to repeatedly flip something that looked like meat and point to a bin full of burned protein hockey pucks. I noticed how the line of hungry patrons grew with eager anticipation as she stopped flipping and started attempting to slice. As each diner finally walked away with something on their plate, she was free to disappear in the back to probably make more clam chowder. I watched a couple seated near me with steak on their plate. Husband was breaking a sweat trying to slice a piece while his wife was busy trying to gracefully eject something inedible from her mouth. Now on to the pinnacle of the meal - dessert time. There wasn't much left, so I chose a slice of pecan pie. It looked promising, like something you could pick up at the local grocery store, but that's where any similarity ends. It tasted old and stale, like it was made from expired corn syrup found at the bottom of the moldy basement. The soft serve ice cream machine was screaming like an exit door alarm every time someone pulled the arm to coax out some frozen ice milk. Then I spotted the highlight of the evening. I didn't think it was possible to mess up jello, but heck you learn something new everyday. I captured that masterpiece in a photo. Sadly, the owner of this location really needs to put many improvements in place. People do enjoy going to buffets and truly miss Souplantation and HomeTown Buffet. Golden Corral has the potential to fill this gap. It is in a good location anchored by Target with lots of parking to serve a busy neighborhood in oceanside. It also has a few employees who still care to do a good job. So please take the good location and good staff and make this Golden Corral a worthy business for hungry patrons looking to spend money at a place with quality food and variety.

My favorite is the salad bar. I get a whole plate of samplers of make your own salad and the two salads they had prepared plus Neptune salad (fake crab). Delicious!!!! Bummer the kid age cut off is 10, most places it's 12. Our daughter is 11, ouch. Hard to pay $20 for 3 chicken wings and an ice cream but we were already there. Super Solid 4 1/2 stars!!…read more Wifey & I were in Oceanside for our nephew's wedding, and we managed to find this Sizzler on a whim looking for some last-minute clothing items! OMG blast from the past! All the Sizzlers in Las Vegas closed many moons ago! So needless to say we were excited to go try it out! What a revelation! Sizzler really did an excellent job to rebrand the remaining restaurants! Looks soo good, soo clean! Soo friendly! Our hostess at the front cashier stand was excited that we were excited LOL! She said she loves when people come in and see that Sizzler is still up and running! Wifey & I managed to get in on the Weekday Lunch Special too: -Sirloin Steak (Hand Cut 6 0z.) with baked potato - $15.99 Then we both added the Unlimited Salad Bar to our lunch orders for only $10.99 each! AND WOW it's like the salad bar here is the star of the show! Over 50 fresh items daily including soups, a hot bar, and desserts! Count us IN! After ordering and taking a seat - your server comes out to check your receipt and lets you know your order will start cooking shortly. Then they also will ask you, "Would you like some Cheese Toast?" OH Heavens, yes indeed we do! It's been years! While you're waiting for your entree is when you get the chance to hit the salad bar if you purchased it alongside your meal, in my opinion you should NOT skip out! Buy it, it's worth the extra scratch! So many excellent options on the salad bar - lots fresh veggies and prepared salads, a rotation of 4-5 soups, a hot bar that includes chili, pasta & sauce, chicken wings, and even taco meat with all the fixins' so you can make yourself hard- or soft-shell tacos or even a taco bowl! The crew at Sizzler even keeps the salad bar fully stocked and super clean too, hygiene is a plus! Everything tasted fresh and not sitting for long! We went back to the salad bar so many times for lunch, we were STUFFED by the time our entrees came! Our waitress beat us to the punch though, she knew and brought us 2 take-out trays - leftovers for later! Cheese Toast was just as buttery & crunchy & cheesy as I remember, the nostalgia hits you! Before packing up our sirloins to go I did check to see if the quality was good. Great cut of meat grilled to a perfect medium! We ended up eating our steaks and baked potatoes for a late dinner that night in our hotel room. Even after a light nuke in the microwave the entrees were still super tasty! Sure beat a cold pizza that day! Such value at this Sizzler, very clean, very good service! I wish I could remember our server's name she was so lovely to us and treated us well - all we remember was that she used to live in Las Vegas before selling her house and moving to Oceanside! Since this is basically one of the closest Sizzler's to us now, hopefully on our next trip back out to California we'll be back! Gonna need extra helpings of that Cheese Toast!
