The one on one coaching sessions are tailored to your personal skill and strength levels with incredibly knowledgeable trainers who modify the exercises to address any concerns you may have.  And the classes are always interesting, with different exercises every time to switch it up. Even in the classes, the trainers will work with you individually to perfect your form or address your concerns. Friendly, family atmosphere without that competitive attitude that you see in many gyms. I can't say enough about this fantastic gym. So glad I found it.

I signed up for the cheapest membership, which only included group classes 2x a week. It's not cheap, but it's what keeps me accountable. Their limited schedule forced me to become a morning person and wake up early to get my workout done. I've realized I love doing that because I have more time in the day. I'm so grateful for the trainers Abby and Terra, who enthusiastically teach the classes with energetic music, fix my form, and motivate me to be better. I feel a significant difference in my mood, energy, overall strength, and confidence level. I'm so grateful for the owner John. He's always supportive and always greets me with a smile on his face. From day one, he was welcoming and made me, someone who's always been intimidated by big box gyms, feel at ease. Go check this place out! It'll transform your life!

I cannot say enough great things about Katrina! I have been to her private sessions and her boot…read morecamps, and have seen great results! With Kat it's more than just weight loss, she is mindful of your body and possible injuries her workout may cause. She notices if you are having a hard time doing an exercise because of a muscle weakness or overcompensation. She works with you to show you how to strengthen that area without injury. I think Katrina out does any other trainer that I've seen because she understands the body so well. I've been to see her for back problems and she knows the exact muscle that is tight! I have tight calves and she has shown me how to loosen them with some really great stretches and my favorite, the foam roller. She definitely emphasis stretching before and after her sessions, so that your body can recover and you don't hate her too much after a workout. ;) She also works with oils and natural supplements that most all her clients swear by. If you have a cold, she has a remedy. Slow metabolism? She's got something for that too! And many other ailments. I highly suggest using her supplements to get the most out of her sessions and become healthy from the inside out. Thank you Kat for helping me down the path of my weight loss and health goals! Xoxo

This indoor/outdoor facility is also perfect when health and safety is your top priority. Brandon made sure everything I touched was clean and was very diligent about keeping all clients significantly distanced from one another. This trainer payed close attention to my needs (I have past body injuries) and adjusted the workout to my fitness level. I always feel the right kind of sore after working out here.

It continually changes, so you never come in do the same thing like your last routine. I work out smarter and harder by attending their Adult Clinic Training (ACT) class three times a week. OPT emphasizes rest and recovery between workouts. What is the ACT? It is a small group (up to 5) training program. Bottom line, this isn't a crazy wanna be testosterone hype gym. The routines are bad-a$$ enough to make a commercial of. They genuinely focus on making you the best that you can be. They are always throwing out health tip reminders in the workouts. The environment is conducive to developing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Today, I had the pleasure of seeing one of my ACT classmates insist on trying a ball plank after class with the coach. Coach Krista was excited yet patient to help her try. Knowing my classmate's uphill battle, and seeing her "Get Some" was inspiring. Yeah, she did it. It was awesome. Note - she (my classmate) and I are not "young-ins". My classmate's will and dedication to her health was bringing out the fight in her to bring her to the next level of fitness. OPT's Coach Krista was there to help her achieve her goal. Seeing that was just awesome. There have specialized classes for youth sports, corrective exercise and specialty sports. Like I have said before, no magic pill here. Do you have the will to get better? Want to take that first step? Or do you want to up your game? Come join OPT OPT is your ultimate fitness partner.

Here's a Yelp-style review that sounds frustrated but still fair enough to be taken seriously:…read more I understand Planet Fitness is built around being affordable and beginner-friendly, but the whole "No Judgement Zone" idea can also create a gym atmosphere that does not really push people to grow or improve. A gym should be welcoming, but it should also motivate people to challenge themselves, build discipline, and get better. The equipment setup is also very limiting. There are no real free weights besides some dumbbells, which makes it hard to do serious strength training. A lot of the machines feel like they force your body into awkward positions instead of allowing proper technique and natural movement. That can be frustrating if you actually care about form and progression. On top of that, a huge portion of the gym is cardio machines and treadmills. That may work for some people, but if you are trying to build strength, improve athletic performance, or follow a more serious workout routine, the gym feels very limited. Planet Fitness might be fine for someone who just wants basic cardio or a very casual place to move around, but it does not feel like the right environment for people who want to train hard, use proper free-weight equipment, and actually push themselves to improve. You need to do better.
