This used to be our favorite hamburger stop and a must stop in Cuero on our way to Rockport. Sadly, today it no longer will be on our must stop places. Hamburger meat was overcooked and dry. When ordering, I asked for medium rare, the clerk responded all our meat is well done. So, I'm assuming no options! We won't be returning!! read more

We moved to Cuero a year and a half ago. What used to cost $25 for two now costs $35 and they are closed on Saturday and Sunday. I'm guessing they don't need to open on the weekends due to making all the money during the week. Haven't been back. read more

If you want awesome, tastes like homemade, delicious burgers then come here! The fries and onion rings are also homemade and crispy. It's not really a drive in because you still have to leave the line then get back in or walk up to get your food. I come here every time I'm in town! read more

KN is a classic burger joint. If you are in Cuero looking for a good burger, chili cheese fries, and sweet tea, this is the place to go! Service is pretty quick. Been passing this place for close to my whole life, finally stopped to check it out. Descent little small town burger joint that plays 50's music in dining room that also has a drive thru. Got the double meat bacon cheeseburger with some tots, burger is solid with a little ground pepper added. Steak fingers were also pretty good, as was the gravy. Fries weren't very fresh but tater tots were. Good service and cleanliness brought me to the fourth star. read more

Wholly moley! Stopped for lunch on our way to Rockport. Had the double cheese burger and onion rings. The burger was huge, and so delicious! Cheese was gooey and melty. Topings stayed put and did not fall off the burger. The onion rings were crispy, but not so crispy they cut the roof of your mouth (like some places...Sonic). I would give it an easy 5! But.....it's the issue with the drive thru service. It makes no real sense to drive up to the window, place your order, then be told to drive around and park....then when your order is ready you either get back in line at the drive OR you can get down and go inside and pick it up. To get back in line is a REAL issue because many times others will not let you back in line. And if you go inside to get it. Then why go to the drive at all. My parents are one of the reasons I bring this up as mother is disabled and can't walk inside. But as I said I would easily give it a 5 otherwise. The good is great. The people are friendly and I'll will still visit. But I would go more often if they would bring out your food once you parked. read more

We stopped at KN Root Beer Drive In for the first time on our way thru Cuero. It may become a regular stop on our way home (Austin) from coastal trips. We had cheeseburgers (single for me and double for hubby) and fries. They were very good - not super greasy as another reviewer stated. They were moist and flavorful with fresh lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. We shared fries and my husband had a root beer. He said he has had better root beer but not bad. This reminds me of the burger joints of my years growing up. Very basic decor, very standard menu but these are hands down my favorite hamburgers in town. The staff is super nice , the service is good and speedy, and they have those yummy frozen mugs for root beer if you are dining in. I always get onion rings, which are really good - not too greasy, and a generous portion. When you want just a great old-fashioned hamburger, this is the place. This place is great! Definitely a dive, but amazing food!!! The inside is small and not modern at all. Order at the counter, pick up at counter, and enjoy your food. The hamburgers are my husbands favorite, but the chili cheese enchiladas are the bomb!!! We drive through Cuero about once a month and this is where we eat every time. I give this place 1/2 star. Was in location at 12:46pm. My first thing to see was a very outdated restaurant. The person taking my order was not friendly at all. She took my name off of my credit card. I do not go by my first name. I ordered the steak finger basket. It took 12 min to get food out. The people that came in behind me got their food first. As I went up to ask where my food was they called my name. I asked about the salad that comes with the meal. The lady sighed and said hold on. Let's start with the salad. I have had more lettuce on a burger than was in the bowl. The salad was also frozen a long with the ranch. That tells me there is a problem with the refrigerator it was stored in. The steak finger basket came out cold and the fries were very dry. After I at my meal I took my cup back up to the front counter and asked for a refill. I got the same reaction form a different person. I take it people don't like working there. Growing up there was a KN root beer in my home town. I was looking forward to old memories. I have always heard great reviews about this place, so I decided to go there today . While standing at register I could see the kitchen , and wasn't very happy. I watched three cooks pick up lettuce, tomatoes without using gloves. This is s health issue that requires people who handle your food should always wears gloves.
