Authentic. Kind staff. Delicious food. Must have when craving Puerto Rican food. The prices are fair, not the typical "pricey food truck".

While I don't recall seeing a sign for it as we were approaching (it's on the right side of the street if you're south-bound), the lights were on, and people were inside and outside (appropriate social distancing). As we entered, we were greeted by the vibrant Owner and Chef, Orlando. We learned that he purchased the restaurant just 3 weeks ago; it was obvious that he and his crew were working hard to get things up-and-running with freshly painted bright yellow walls, "fun reggae music" playing, a bright painting of Bob Marley on the wall and the delicious smell of BBQ as soon as we exited our car. Be sure to check out the picture of my ribs. That massive serving was only $17.00. I will get 3 meals from them. I chose steamed cabbage and yellow rice as well. While the serving sizes are large, the rich flavors are even larger!!! The food was absolutely superb and cooked to perfection!!! The meat literally fell off the bones.....YUMMMM!!! Be sure to bring cash, because at this point, they do not accept credit cards. Be sure to give this new restaurant a try! When it comes to carribean restaurants they are mostly a hit or miss depending on the day or time…read more Especially the Jamaican establishments. From the attitude to the lack of love put into the food. As for the Humming bird it needs help in many ways. The cleanliness is lacking, people should see clean tables and no leftover rice grains on the floor left from previous customers. The greetings and mannerisms are lacking as well. I shouldn't feel like I'm getting into an altercation with the cashier. As for the food it's lacking the love from the beautiful island called JAMAICA . When establishments get comfortable they forget what it took for them to open those doors. The hard nights of labor that open those doors, the love of cooking some amazing food, the introduction of bringing the elements of Jamaica. As for the order was an oxtail with rice and peas, and cabbage. Also an order of curry chicken with same sides as the oxtail. The oxtail wasn't tender enough the seasoning a bit on the salty side. The curry chicken tasted as leftovers from the previous day. Again it starts with the kitchen and owners have to be held responsible to the full extent. Either get it together for Tampa needs carribean restaurants or shut down and reevaluate the love once was that represented Jamaica.

Many options were crossed out from an already simple menu. However, the dishes that I got were…read moregood. Prices are reasonable.

Sherry's Trini Flavors had me feeling like I accidentally stepped through a secret Caribbean…read morewormhole and landed somewhere between Port of Spain and a gas station parking lot in Florida. The giant NOW OPEN banner was flapping like it personally invited me, and the storefront painted in bold Trinidad flag colors looked ready to hand out citizenship papers with every order. I walked in thinking I'd grab a quick bite. Rookie mistake, one look at the doubles and suddenly I'm ordering five. Then I'm calling my aunt and cousin like it's a family emergency: "Allyuh want doubles? Because these looking SERIOUS." Next thing you know, I'm walking out with ten doubles like I'm catering a small festival. And let me tell you, these doubles? Soft bara, perfectly seasoned channa, pepper and tamarind sauce hugging everything like a warm Caribbean auntie. I've basically been on a doubles‑only diet since, and honestly, I feel spiritually aligned. I even ate one cold from the fridge and it still slapped. That's when you know it's real. Then there's the boneless curry chicken with buss‑up‑shut. Pure comfort. The kind of meal that makes you close your eyes after the first bite. The potatoes were soft enough to spread on a cracker, the channa was rich and earthy, and the chicken tasted like somebody's grandmother was in the back whispering, "Put a lil' more seasoning, nah." The buss‑up‑shut was fluffy, torn, and ready to scoop up every drop of curry like it had a mission. And the pepper sauce? Flavorful. Respectful. Not trying to fight me or send me to the ER. A rare and beautiful thing. The place is clean, the parking is plentiful, and the staff has real Trini accents that instantly make everything feel more authentic. Even the way they say "Next!" has rhythm. Next time, I'm calling ahead for dhal phourie, because clearly this place does not miss and I'm not risking it selling out. If you see me there again, mind your business! I'm probably ordering another ten doubles and living my best life.

I happened to find Sherry's Trini while I was in Orlando for an exam and decided to give it a try. I ordered the potato and channa roti with pepper sauce on the side. The potato and channa was yum, well-seasoned. The pepper sauce was everything I needed. Now for the roti itself. If you're accustomed to a good dhalpuri or buss up shut, this one might leave you wanting a little more. It wasn't bad, but it lacked that soft, delicate, flaky texture. The filling was carrying the meal more than the roti did. Overall though, I appreciated finally finding a place in Florida serving Trini food that actually tastes like somebody put some love into it. It's hard to come by down here. While the roti wasn't exactly what I was hoping for, the potato and channa definitely satisfied the craving and I'd still come back to get some other fixes.

I'm going to give this place a 6. Was disappointed with my overall experience. Check it out and let me know your .experience.
