This was my first time trying Kneaders which has been recommended by several friends. While I can honestly say the staff was friendly and courteous, I can't say anything positive about the rest of my experience. My order wasn't correct and people behind us received their food before we did. My sandwich came with things in it I specifically requested not be added and the "cup of soup" was so small it wasn't worth the price. For 1 full sandwich, 1 half sandwich and a cup of soup it was $17 and change. Definitely not worth the price. read more

Very unprofessional! I spoke with the owner Kathy last week in regards to doing a cute simple holiday display with hot chocolate. We spoke in detail and she took my information and was going to send me a quote. We planned all the details even down to her delivering some items the day before. I had not heard from her via email or phone, so I called this morning and she had a store manager tell me she would not be fulfilling my request. My event is tomorrow! VERY unprofessional!! Always very slow service. Food is fairly good, but they are ALWAYS out of bread/items...we have gone there several times and every time at least one of my family members has to change their menu item to something else because they are out of it. When we asked them about it, they told us that they typically run out of items on the weekends. So, I guess if you go there on a weekday you may get what you actually want! Now this is a place to have lunch! I wanted a baguette following an earlier diner disaster; This would have been the place. Clean Nice, New, Smells Great. So Inviting. And Bustling with life. It is sad this city does not have any owner operated bakeries. Kneaders is the only place to get some speciality pastries but if you have lived in bigger cities or have been to an actual Italian or French bakery, kneaders pales in comparison. The only place I can compare this to in St George is Harmon's (a local chain grocery store bakery). The prices are about the same and each has it's better items. I like Kneader's cakes and candy apples and Harmon's Scotchie bars and canolis better. The big difference is service. The lines at kneaders are long. Then they will take your order and money and have you sit and wait for them to package it. Only for them have run out of items! This has happened at least 5 times to me. The person bringing the items out feels bad and offers another item or your money back but it is frustrating to have missing items especially if one person in your party gets nothing. This is where Harmon's does better, even though it is a grocery store, they have great customer service and tons of staff behind the bakery. I haven't been back to Kneaders since they messed up a custom cake. I paid good money for the cake and when I picked it up they knew it was wrong but no one knew how to help. There was no one in charge that could make a decision. call back tommorrow is not the answer you give someone holding a cake made wrong for a party that night. The party was in an hour and I actually went to Harmon's and even though I didn't buy the cake there they helped me. read more

The only thing I'm here to review are their salads. The pastries were pretty, but I didn't try any of them. I didn't have a sandwich; nobody in our party did. The entire reason we went there was because they had something like "Voted Best Salads in Utah!" on their sign out front. Well, I was craving a good, hopefully unique salad, so I convinced everyone that we should eat there. They have about seven salads on their menu. It was difficult to pick one out to order, because the descriptions were almost the same for all of them. The three of us each ordered a different salad, but all three salads looked almost identical...pale greens, a couple of rings of red onion, etc. My mom ordered the avocado salad which did have a good-sized portion of perfectly ripened avocado on top, but the rest of it was just like ours. The salads contained almost no vegetables at all. The salads were $7.19 each plus tax...a fair price to pay for a real salad, but real salads these were not. Nothing was rotten or dirty, and there were no bugs in our food, nothing like that. It was just a huge salad disappointment and a total waste of money. The last time I visited St. George, I had a Greek salad at a place called Basila's, not far from Kneaders. I remember the salad being a bit pricey, but it was WONDERFUL and was FULL of good things. read more

Greeted with a slow line at the door, the order taker was slow and confused, the dinning area had loud and screaming children running around. The lobby is noisy. Both of our soups were not hot just luke warm. There was not much chicken salad on my croissant sandwich, tired lettuce and sour cream sauce in the chicken salad. It tasted and smelled sour. The iced tea had a funny tired taste. No manager in sight, just lots of uninterested employees. Don't bother. By the way the bread was pretty good. read more

So disappointed in kneaders today. Whenever my grandchildren or any guests come, I always take them to kneaders. Today my little granddaughter from Illinois and I went to kneaders for breakfast. We got there at 10:45 but by the time we got to the counter it was 11:01. The girl at the counter told us it was too late and she refused to let us have breakfast unless we wanted French toast which we did not. I even explained we had been in line for 15 minutes! We left and I called from my car to complain. She was nice, took my number but nothing came of it. We ended up going to Hash house where we got great food and wonderful service. read more

Just spent 25 minutes waiting for a sandwich. I was the only person in line and there wasn't anyone in the drive thru. Wait for 10 minutes while the employees are chit chatting with each other. One eventually tells me they are out of the type of bread my sandwich comes with. No big deal I'll have it on white. I wait another 15 minutes while the sandwich maker the manager and the girls from the registers have a chat. I like Kneaders food, and the service at the one by my house (Henderson, NV) is always great, but if you value your time you might want to go elsewhere. read more

It was awful today. Went for all you can eat French toast. People were so mad. They had been waiting for an hour and still didn't have food. We decided to order lunch instead. That wasn't any better. It took forever to get our food and when we did, it was terrible! In the mean time all of the people who were mad and waiting for French toast got a refund and left. I have been a long time fan of Kneaders, but the St. George location is AWFUL. 75% our experiences have ended with them forgetting something of ours, messing up our order or serving us below standard food. Is it too much to ask for the person serving me to be somewhat competent? After too many times of being disappointed, I think my relationship with Kneaders is over (at least in St. George). I had never been here before so we stopped here for lunch. I had the crab roll sandwich and my boyfriend had the BLT. Mine was really good and I can't wait to have another one! My husband ordered two kinds of soups, salads and bread for my elderly mother who was quite ill and could benefit from some fresh and tasty meals. Horrible service.. Didn't get helped for 5 minutes after we walked in, didn't even get greeted. They had signs up for what kinds of soups they had, and when we ordered them, they were out of what we wanted. This was at 7:30 on a Saturday night and they don't even close until 10. Then, after we sat down, they came over to us and told us that they sold the last bowl of soup they told us we could have. Took 10 more minutes to get one bowl of soup. Asked for a grilled ham and cheese sandwich, and didn't get it grilled. When we left there was a huge line, and they still hadn't taken down the signs for the soups that they had ran out of. read more

I just left the drive up at Kneaders in St. George. I sat in line at the drive up for 40-minutes before finally getting my order. This is incredibly unacceptable for lunch time during the business week. There were still at least 7-10 cars behind me clogging the parking entrance. Upon arriving back at my office I discovered that my Turkey Avocado sandwich was lettuce, tomato and avocado, only. My cauliflower cheese soup had no cauliflower. I am incredibly disappointed. This is not the first time I have experienced delays at lunch time. My suggestion, don't try to go here for lunch if you don't have a ton of time to wait. read more

My first time visiting while traveling through SG. I've heard many good reviews from my friends. A family member didn't get it, I mean it's a bakery. With that being said, it's an amazing bakery with rolls, orange rolls , zucchini bread (highly recommend) on the menu are sandwiches and salads, soups and coffees, smoothies and such. I really enjoyed it, but since maybe I Haven't tried the French toast breakfast, it's another good sandwich/bakery place. I love the decor and the gifts too. We stopped in here for a late lunch, only because we know nothing about St. George and the parking lot was packed. Our indication there is good food inside. I was a little disappointed that you order at the counter, a lot like a fast food place. We split a BLT which was pretty good, loved the toasted whole grain and abundance of bacon. The broccoli "salad" was a farce, it was just broccoli, not impressed. Probably won't be back. read more

We would go frequently when we lived in Utah county but moved to St. George and everytime we go to Kneaders here it is so packed. They need another location to ease the wait time and small space. Our party all had different soups and we all enjoyed them. They let is have samples so we all had a hard time deciding because they were all so good. We sampled the potato rosemary bread and ended up taking a load home! Delicious! All of our soup came in sourdough bread bowls and the sourdough was really good too! read more

Good menu. Lots of choices. But need to train crew to work faster. 30 minutes in the drive through is too much even for Utah speed.

Love this place. Everything is so yummy!! The croissants and the German chocolate brownies are to die for!!! Sometimes the lines are long but that is to be expected with good food. I just go at off times. ....oh and to the person that says its a bad Panera knock off... I don't think they are trying to copy them. There's a million of these type places in the country.
