This is my second time at a black bear diner location and unfortunately will be my last. I originally went to the location by knotts berry farm in LA and was impressed. So when visiting family in St. George, I was proactive and chose a spot instead of leaving every decision up to them. Man do I look like a fool now! The food was unappetizing and the place was quite loud. Portions were huge but it seemed they were quite passionate about the concept of "quantity over quality" Our server Kami was wonderful and kept this place from getting 1 star, she was friendly and attentive and I hope the Diner knows they've got a future MVP doing charity work in the minor leagues with her working there. They also had fun hot sauces

Love coming here for breakfast the food is 10/10 & usually the service is great but not this time. The hostess sat us quickly but our waitress was either very tired or just rude. We didn't get seen til 10 mins later, our drinks didn't come til 10 mins after that, and we got no beverage refills. She seemed more annoyed and was rushing us to order & quick to give us the receipt. I ordered the Denver omelette with grits 8/10

Been to BB before just never this location but it was consistently amazing just like the other locations we have tried, great and plentiful food in a nice location with a very friendly staff.

    Welcome!!

The food came out hot and flavorful, you can choose 2 sides and there's a lot of great options. Large portions, I'll have my leftovers tomorrow!! This is a cute restaurant, I love all the woodwork inside & outside, it's warm & cozy I took a star off bc the kitchen staff and other servers talked loudly and kinda forgot about me in their discussions, my original server was awesome but clocked out midway thru, I was in a corner and had to flag someone down to get To-Go containers. I enjoyed my meal, would recommend!

This was my first time to Utah and this restaurant and Iʻm from Hawaii! It waz so cute and cozy! They were all welcoming and friendly! The food was delicious especially my Tti-Tip sandwich! They call it "Better French Dip". Will definitely eat there again if I ever come back to Utah! Mahalo!

We came when the restaurant was full but was still seated right away and Joshua was very attentive and polite especially when we took forever to order. The food was well priced and generous in portions. It was good food and hit the spot for us. The restaurant is a typical diner style and nothing to shout home about. But for the food we'd come back again.

From the moment we arrived, every dish was exceptional. The salad was fresh and beautifully prepared, the pork belly was absolutely outstanding, and the steak was cooked to perfection with the most incredible seasoning. Every bite was memorable. The biscuit was unreal--warm, comforting, and honestly one of the best I've ever had. What touched me most was the homemade ice cream. One spoonful instantly brought me back to childhood memories of my dad making homemade ice cream for us when we were kids. It was such a special and unexpected gift to relive those moments. But what truly made the evening unforgettable was our server, Parthee. She was absolutely amazing. Her kindness, attentiveness, and genuine warmth made us feel so welcomed and cared for. She didn't just provide excellent service--she made our night. Our family has been through a lot, including the heartbreaking loss of my sister. Father's Day hasn't always been easy for my sweet dad since then. This evening gave us something precious: a new happy memory together. Parthee, thank you for your compassion and for helping create a beautiful moment for our family during a difficult season of life. We are so grateful, and we will never forget it.

Their local beer section was fantastic. The food was mid in my opinion, specially for the price point. They said the sizes were 'shareable' but my husband could have the entire thing. I wouldn't call it that since it's not that big. We got the chicken fries, good taste, the chicken was good. Just wish there was more chicken and less salt. They are known for the old fashioned and that was pretty amazing. The vibe was nice, not too loud. And the service could improve since they forgot a drink of our table a few times. Overall it was a nice restaurant just a few improvements but we had a good time.

It definitely did not disappoint! I had a bit of a hard time finding this place as it's in an industrial area and kind of hiding, but it was worth the journey. For my drink, I ordered the blackberry smash, which was a mule with a fruity twist. It was delicious and much stronger than other drinks I've had in this area. For my meal, I went with the highly-acclaimed fish and chips, which did indeed live up to their hype. The fish was perfectly fried and the fries had a good bite to them. I also really enjoyed the fry sauce that tagged along with the dish. Our server was also wonderful and made helpful suggestions throughout the meal. This was a great experience and I would definitely return for future meals when I'm in the area!

Ok, for the food, the fried pickles were the best thing we had, get those. Light and crispy batter with a decently thick pickle chip inside, really good. The food, fish and chips, spicy reuben, chicken sandwich, and bbq wings. Fish and chips, decent enough, nothing to write home about, delicate batter, great flavor. Spicy Reuben...what a trainwreck, the meat was stringy and annoying to eat. The sauerkraut was sweet? Just terrible. The bbq wings were as described, so not bad. The chicken sandwich was not great either, chicken was dry and kind of hard to eat. The garlic parm fries though? Amazing. Get those as your side. We also had the Guavala and the Hef, both were really good and a steal at $6 each. They also have a small store front with no prices, frustrating. Overall, won't be back again, maybe we just came on a bad day, but once was enough.

Today, happened to be, I had a quick trip to St George and I went to grab a quick bite before heading back to Vegas. It was between lunch and dinner, so the place wasn't packed at all. Hostess offered a seat by the bar or in the dining room. I picked the dining room. Waiter came over quickly, took my order, then returned with water and my Pepsi. Then a few minutes later he came back with the sandwich which was French Dip with Fries. The sandwich was more like a cheese steak sandwich, I noticed, but it was tasty enough to eat it, and didn't bother me much. Although, I picked out the spicy peppers from it, and the waiter asked me if I wanted it to remake the sandwich, but it was really fine. I only took out the spicy peppers, because I don't eat spicy food at all. That's all. I told him that I think it's really a cheesesteak sandwich, and he said that this is how they make the French Dip in this restaurant. I didn't make a big deal about it. As I said before, it was tasty and I ate it. He refilled my Pepsi. Got my check, paid, and left. This Brewery is worth visiting, because it looks really cool! The building itself is huge, very authentic with lots of great decorations. Based on that alone, I would give this place a 5, but unfortunately, everything else was below par. The service was slow, as was every other restaurant in St. George. I ordered a Manhattan, and lo and behold, I received some type of smoked old fashioned. When I asked for a new one, Dom, our waiter, said, "Sure, but you'll probably just get the same thing." That surprised me, and I was like, "Go talk to the bartender and see if they can make it." But Dom was pretty certain that, I'd get the same thing. So I ordered something else, and it came out fine. Dom, while new, was not a very good waiter and could use some more training in customer service and in cocktails. His attitude completely ruined the night.

My ONLY GRIPE was the service, it was hard to get a drink refill or anything that wasn't food. Food was well-seasoned and portions were perfect, not so much that you question your life choices, and not too little that you're left saying "bruh". The foods, spinach and artichoke dip, stuffed shells, fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp, blackened chicken carbonara, and tortellini with parm crusted chicken. Best bite was the blackened chicken carbonara, the heavily seasoned chicken breast with the creamy carbonara was the perfect mix. The spinach and artichoke dip was also pretty good, heavy handed on the garlic but tasty. Oh! The fresh free bread with the olive oil and balsamic on the table *might* fill you up before the meal, it was a good starter. The desserts tiramisu and crème brûlée, tiramisu was ok, quite boozy. And the crème brûlée was a little on the soft side but the brûlée topping was still nice and crackly. Overall, will be back for the food, I think I'm good on the desserts.
