I hope the fact that I'm taking the time to submit this feedback is enough to let you know how thoroughly disappointed and disgusted I am with the way my family and I were treated at the Orem Kneaders store. The complete disregard for any customer service was almost laughable--for a minute I thought I was perhaps on 'Candid Camera' or 'Punk'd'. It was as if management was daring me to write the most scathing critique I could come up with--and broadcast it to as many people as I possibly could (which I am now doing). The truth is, this was not the first or even the second or third time I've felt mistreated at Kneaders Orem store--every time I go in there it's like my patronage is a terrible burden. On Friday night, February 15th we decided to meet up at Kneaders for dessert with family after a play. There were about 18 of us in all. A group of about 9 arrived at the North Orem store at about 9:45pm. They knew we weren't far behind, so they ordered their desserts and sat down. We--another group of about 9 former customers--arrived at approx 9:56pm, and went straight into the dining area to greet our party. The layout of that location makes it quite obvious to workers when a group that size walks in the door--they knew we had walked in and they no doubt had an expectation we would also want to order desserts (and spend in the neighborhood of about $50 on desserts and drinks). We visited for a few minutes with our family, when one of them said "oh, you better go order . . . they close at 10pm". I checked the clock on my phone and it read 10pm exactly. We immediately walked over to the counter to order (probably arriving at the counter at 10:00:49pm), and were met with a snippy and callous "We're closed. We close at 10". I smiled and chuckled (as I thought that was the reaction she was looking for) and said something like "Well, it is now 10:01pm . . .but we're just looking for some desserts." There were two workers out front--one of them just looked at us with a doltish blank stare and the other was doing all the inconsiderate and unprofessional talking. She let me know that no . . .they really were closed and she wasn't budging. I tried to explain we really just wanted some drinks and some ready-to-serve (no prepping, cooking, or heating required) desserts. Anyway, we went back and forth like this for a few minutes--me trying to speak some reason while explaining what customer service was, and her trying to further strengthen her position as someone who should never, ever, ever be placed in a position where one actually has to talk with people. By this time it was all of 10:05pm and she was frantically counting the till--I'm sure so she could hurry and turn out the lights on the 20 or so customers that were still in the dining area. I can think of dozens of different suggestions for how this situation should have been handled--you may be thinking of some right now. I think anyone who has ever engaged in any sort of human interaction--especially interaction that involves retail commerce--could list 15 or 20. How about a 'soft close'? How about showing the slightest courtesy of walking over to the customers you just four minutes ago watched walk in to inquire whether or not they would like to order something? What about just speaking courteously? What about an apology? What about an explanation that would have made sense to me like "I'm quitting--this is my last night. I hate working at this place and hate who I work for so I'm trying to be as malicious, mean, and vindictive as I can to as many customers as I can so I can really spread as much ill will as I can on my way out." Yes, it really was this bad--and as I earlier indicated, sadly this treatment was just incrementally worse than the treatment I've received at this place for the past +/- fifteen years they've been in business. I'm done with this place. The food would have to just be incredible to look past the way I'm treated whenever I walk in--and frankly everything I've ever eaten from Kneaders is probably a solid C or C+. read more

Don't buy pies at Kneaders. I highly doubt they make their own. They likely ship them in frozen. Terrible cardboard-like crust, tasteless filling, and nondairy whipped topping. I'm surprised they sell such a poor product for having quality bread and other tasty salads, soups, and treats. read more

Cinnamon French Toast is the thing to get when eating at Kneaders. It is top notch and so filling. Guaranteed that you will roll away feeling stuffed. Our kids love the French Toast and always share a plate. The rest of the menu items are decent. Good sandwiches for lunch. Had the Greek Scrambled Omelet recently. Great flavor. Would have liked it to be a bit bigger though. You can also get a number of breads, pastries, and pies. This place will be around for a long time. One downside is that it is usually hard to find a table for your group if you come on the weekends. Plan ahead. Grab a table while the rest of your party waits in line. read more

I love kneaders and always have since I was a kid. It was my go to place when I was pregnant. The food is amazing. That being said though, the workers are so so rude. Especially the managers. They are the most judge mental, stuck up, most unwilling to help people I've ever encountered in the food industry. As well as that though, I have placed many to go orders and I don't remember one time that my order was correct after paying for it and taking it home. I should learn to check first. But when you're paying so much, the workers should be more polite and competent than if I were going to McDonald's. You expect a higher quality of service when you pay as much as they charge. It's gotten to the point that I just don't come here anymore because I'm so tired of being disrespected by the workers and not getting the right order over and over and over and over again. read more

Had the French dip and broccoli soup. Both very tasty and received great service. The reason for two stars is for a fairly pricey sandwich, there was barely any roast beef on my French dip...mostly bread and a small amount of cheese. For that price I could get nearly two pounds of good roast beef sliced at a deli not 1/2 ounce of meat on a giant slice of bread. They always put their beautiful sugar cookies in a sack that ruins the frosting. I was buying 3 apple cookies "back to school cookies" as some teachers gifts. I went inside the store and asked specifically to have them NOT put into sacks. The store was not busy, 10 mins later they bring me cookies in a sack. Really? I told them WHY i didnt want them in a sack and specifically asked for a container. Not only did it take forever for 3 cookies then the manager seemed totally peeved to return them. Ugh.. Wow. Just wow. A friend brought me here for the promise of unlimited french toast. I honestly expected some pretty crappy french toast like the kind you get at a continental breakfast in a hotel. Kneaders is becoming quite the big deal in Utah and for good reason! Their food is made with fresh high quality ingredients and is loaded with flavor! The first time I went a family member introduced me to their TBA sand which on focaccia bread, it was one of the best I've ever had! Their bread is excellent and the sauce they put on it is incredible! Then I had their French Toast which is just amazing, the syrup, the strawberries and the whipped cream are all so tasty, and they're very consistent! I've been here probably a dozen times, around lunch time, and every time, they just so happen to be out of bread bowls, with the excuse "We had someone come in around 10 am and buy all of our bread bowls for the day" or my personal favorite "It's just that time of night"... What the heck does that mean... it's 2 PM?! Make more bread bowls, or stop giving them all away to 1 person right when you open. Its so flippin cute and fancy in there, and my mother has gone several times and informed me that whenever she goes there with people everyone orders something different and everything everyone has is always amazing. I had to get some work done, and I wasn't close to home, so I hopped in to this Kneaders thinking I could access wifi on my laptop. I purchased some tea and a brownie because I would feel bad using wifi without a purchase. Turns out, they don't have wifi. I tried using my phone hotspot. Alas, I'm almost out of batteries. So I request to speak with a person in charge. He tells me that Kneaders doesn't want to pay for wifi, and that's why they don't have it. My wife like this place A LOT more than me. The food is good especially the breakfast Sandwiches. The deserts are good as well. I've purchased the fudge brownies for a Big group i was in charge of and everyone loved them. I find the Sandwiches OK. It's not my first choice but I'll eat here and its makes my wife happy. Good desserts. The counter girl was utterly confused when I asked what was in one of the menu items. The chicken pesto panini was very good. The fountain drinks were perfectly mixed, and free refills. The mint Brownie was a bit dry whwn eaten minutes afrwr purvhase but the cream cheese Brownie held moisture well for several hours after. Every time I've had their bread I've gotten royally sick. Tried to buy some sides instead of the pricey entrees and really liked the price, came back a second time and what had been allowed before was not allowed now by the manager, you have to purchase an entree to purchase a side. I order online to avoid the long lines during lunch time and I understand that is lunch the most busy hours but come on, I made my order earlier at 1150 and it supposed to be ready by 12:15 pm oh but for my surprise my order wasn't ready I had to spend 30 minutes or more for my order not a good service !! read more

Pretty much any dessert you get here is going to be great. I have a soft spot for the fruit and key lime tarts, and in the cannoli they use ricotta and it is delicious. I always get the lemon bar when it's in season, and of course their sweet breads are all great. I used to love their soups, but they changed the brand of the base they use and it's just not as good anymore, which is a shame because I loved me some portabella soup. Their turkey sandwich is great with the roasted, hand pulled turkey. Just don't fool yourself into thinking you are eating healthy(er) when you order a sandwich or soup from here.
