My catalytic converter was stolen from my parents driveway in Pueblo earlier this year. The muffler shop that replaced in Pueblo it did a horrible job (ripping off my elderly father ) and it failed after a few months. I ended up taking it here. Everyone recommended that I take my car to Knechts, and I must say that the job was decent quality. However, I will not be giving Knecht Automotive my business moving forward. Clint was impatient and rude when answering my questions over the phone, and I hung up feeling like I had wasted his time. It was awful. Perhaps he was just having a bad day, but that certainly does not justify how he treated me. If anyone has recommendations for a different shop that provides quality automotive work AND respectful customer service, I would appreciate it. read more

Great service at a great shop Over the years we've used Knecht Automotive a great deal and we've always been pleased with the work from competitive pricing on tires to first rate work on our cars. Recently on a Monday morning while preparing to drive to Denver to catch a flight I found a tire on my car flat. It was a leaky valve stem. I called Knecht to see what they could do for me. They were very busy but said they could get it in the afternoon. I told them my situation about needing to be in Denver and I would head out as soon as they had the car done. Without inconveniencing the other customers, the shop owner actually did the work himself and got me on the road by 10:30. The work was done fast and it was done correctly. We have worked with Clint Miller for years. We've never met anyone more honest, hardworking, and able to solve the most perplexing of problems. One of our first experiences with Clint was a major project involving engine and transmission replacements among many other things. Clint always does things "right" and is straightforward about all repair issues. Having lived in other places, with much different experiences, it's a gift to have such high quality and trust worthy service available in our town. When I needed to get my vehicle worked on a few years ago, I asked several of my car savvy friends where to take my car in Los Alamos. They all recommended several places, but Knechts was always one of those. I figured if several different people mentioned the same place, they at least have to be honest. I usually change the oil myself but my wife's car was due so we decided to try to get the oil changed here. My wife dropped the car off at 10 am and didn't hear anything for over five hours. Not the place to go if you want work done quickly. read more

Better buy another car by Disappointed Customer - 08/07/2012 They have good towing but lack quality at what they are doing.After replacing the water pump with them, they ignored to check if the radiator is clean, when put new cooling fluid, but because they replaced the spark plugs they applied a "mandatory" oil change replacing a synthetic oil with another 5000 miles life with a low quality new Pennzoil with less than 3000 miles life, and bad qualities at high temperature (behaves like water over 220F). Before replacing the water pump with them because it leaked I DID-NOT experience engine overheating, but after that suddenly the radiator get dirty - may be they added something - and If I did not had the right knowledge by now all the engine will be defect and I might need another car.I brought back the car to them but they refused to hear anything and they proposed to replace all the system for only $500...they charge +50% to the parts they procure.To replace the water pump because they are missing the appropriate tools and skills they broke the distribution case making a 400$ operation cost 1400$.By 6 years ago when they repaired a Honda Civic they diagnosed well the gas pump rely, and replaced it, but forgot to tight back the gas pipes and when I drove it home overnight it leaked gasoline allover. I had to repair it myself, and for few years I did not worked with them.I did now because of a new owner, but the main LOW QUALITY trend maintained.I have tried to explain the new owner the importance of quality, and the danger he exposed me due to the sloppy work (sabotage is probable) and he replied : You waste you time I you hope to teach me something - but I hope that free market economy may do a better job, than I did paying another $40 just to give him the opportunity to learn his mistake and fix it.Need adventure and reasons to buy another car, do business with them, and good luck! read more
