I've even dedicated whole birthdays - to visiting grocery stores. Perusing well stocked aisles - especially when the words 'organic' and 'natural' grace them - is where I often get my dopamine highs :) Recently Safeway has been serving up some solid grocery store finds. Their berry selection has been 'berry' good. In fact their blueberries are some of the best around. I will often stock up on multiple cartons and will even freeze some of them for cold fruity weekday snacks. In addition to carrying solid berries - their produce selection in general is varied and reliable. I still adore Grocery Outlet and many of the other quality grocery stores in and around the area - but when I have a basic shopping list - I know that Safeway knows what's up. Though the current handleless paper bags are definitely not serving. Anyone. Trust.

The alcohol is a little bit on the expensive side, but at least the selection is pretty solid. We've come here a lot over the years and it's never super busy. Soap dispenser never has soap which tells me the employees are handling food without washing their hands. I've seen both men and women employees enter and exit the restrooms in their aprons....blah... The floor is coming up near the meat area. Some of the shelves are stained with liquid. Every time I'm there they have some sort of "line crisis" and backed up checkout lines. I could go on but don't have all day.... This is by far the most rundown, pathetic Save-Mart I've ever been in... I guess corporate figures we're not entitled to a nice store here.... We'd rather drive to Stockton Safeway than shop here... The pumpkins are clean, fairly priced, and there's a fantastic selection--from HUGE pumpkins to cute little decorative ones. I loved that there were tons of photo opportunities all around the patch, making it easy to capture those picture-perfect autumn memories. The farm stand is adorable and well-stocked, and there's even a little snack shack for treats and drinks. For the kids (and kids at heart), there's a small petting zoo and a fun haunted maze, which added to the whole experience without being overwhelming. One of the best things about this spot is that it's not overly crowded or hectic like a lot of other pumpkin patches, so you can actually relax and enjoy your visit. It's definitely worth the drive for a wholesome, festive, and family-friendly pumpkin-picking adventure. Highly recommend!
