If patients are required to sign in, it is reasonable to expect that the sign-in sheet is actively reviewed. Otherwise, the purpose of having patients sign in is unclear. My daughter even told me that one of the receptionist with blond hair acknowledged her when she waved hello and signed in her name so I don't understand why the other receptionist twisted things around saying they didn't know my daughter was there for her appointment and requested us to reschedule to another day. I took time off work and pulled my daughter out of school early for this appointment, only for our time to be wasted and the blame shifted onto a minor who had properly checked in. Extremely unprofessional and disorganized. We will not be returning.

I had a truly horrible experience here and want to warn other parents. I brought my 2-year-old…read moredaughter in because she needed a filling. To my shock, the staff told me I would need to leave her alone with them in the back while they did the filling -- and that they planned to do it without any anesthesia or pain relief. Their reasoning? They said she would be screaming and they didn't want me to be present to see her crying. When I asked about laughing gas, they brushed it off, saying most patients "don't sit still long enough for it to do anything." So their solution was essentially to restrain and drill into a toddler's tooth while she was in pain, with no parent allowed in the room. Completely unacceptable. Thankfully, I found another dentist (who also takes Medi-Cal) who treated us completely differently. They allowed me to stay with my daughter the entire time and offered several safe and appropriate options for her comfort -- including nitrous oxide ("laughing gas"), Silver Diamine Fluoride for smaller cavities, a mild oral sedative ("juice" she could drink), and even sleep dentistry if necessary. My daughter was cared for with compassion, given proper pain management, and avoided unnecessary trauma. No parent should ever be asked to leave their child alone while they undergo a painful procedure, especially a toddler. This practice felt careless, insensitive, and in my opinion, unsafe. Please think twice before bringing your child here.

I lamented over the procedure for weeks, worrying about how he would handle it all. Dr. Kang and her team were so very patient and kind. From the initial phone call and consultation, and every step to the procedure, they were absolutely wonderful and put our minds at ease. We had such a great experience that today, when I told Shayne we had to see the dentist, he yelled, "Mommy I'm so excited to go see the dentist!" Not many kids (or adults even) have this reaction to a dental visit, especially after his procedure. The team here truly takes the time to connect with your child. Upon entrance, whether it's Dr. Kang herself or one of her assistants, sat with our son to play a game, watch a few minutes of the Disney channel or really whatever he wanted to do.
