I started my combination Invisalign / braces journey last April and just finished last month (almost 80% of which was in Invisalign and 20% braces). Dr. Lee quoted me 15 months and we were able to finish in that time frame, which was much shorter compared to other estimates I was getting from other orthodontists (who were estimating 2-2.5 years). Dr. Lee is very kind, patient, and honest. He is also a perfectionist. My treatment would have probably been quicker if he wasn't such a perfectionist, which made the entire process feel even more genuine and worthwhile. He was willing to make me keep coming back for minor adjustments to fine-tune my final smile until he was happy. As a healthcare professional myself, I really appreciated that he didn't mind me taking up extra appointment slots when he could have ended my treatment a lot sooner. This is long overdue but I'm finally sitting down to write this detailed review from my experience at Star Bright! A little background is that I have been insecure about my smile ever since I was a little girl. I didn't like how it was crowded but what bothered me the most was my two peg laterals that made my smile uneven. If you don't know what peg laterals are, they are teeth that are not developed correctly resulting in small looking "baby teeth", pointy, cone looking teeth. Now imagine two, right in the front of my upper front teeth. At the end of 2015, I finally made my first appointment for a consultation to get braces with Dr. Peter Lee. Dr. Lee examined the condition of my teeth to see if there was any dental work that needed to be done before proceeding with braces (I ended up with traditional metal braces) and indeed there was a lot that needed to be done. It was embarrassing how much dental work I needed but it was to ensure my teeth was in top shape before getting the braces. I never felt any judgment despite the poor condition my teeth was originally. Another important thing during this consultation was that Dr. Lee pointed out to me that in his experience with peg laterals, even if I was to get my teeth straighten out, the results may not be what I'm looking for because aesthetically my teeth would be straight but it wouldn't be even because my peg laterals. My options was to get veneers or crown replacement for both peg laterals for the cosmetics effect. After careful considerations I decided to go with the veneer option. After my braces were put in, the plan was to create spaces between my two peg laterals so that veneers would fit right in after I get them off. And that is exactly what happened after having my metal braces for about 2 years. General dentist Dr. Hyun did my veneers and they came out beautifully. I can't describe how happy I was with the results. It truly gave me a new sense of confidence that I didn't know I was missing. If you've read this far, hopefully something from my story resonated with one of you and helped you made the decision to give Star Bright a chance to change your life as well. In 2021 I began the lengthy process of jaw surgery, and was referred to Dr. Lee by Dr. Ha, a surgeon at OMSI LA who handled my surgery. Getting jaw surgery covered by insurance is difficult because it falls under medical insurance, but also requires dental insurance, which usually doesn't cover orthodontic work. Even if you prove the medical necessity of the surgery, the associated orthodontics are under a separate insurance. But the orthodontics needed to support the surgery are vital, and finding a trusted orthodontist who could guide my bite before, during, and after the surgery was so important to ensure a successful outcome. Dr. Ha and Dr. Lee have worked together on many surgeries, and I was in good hands. Given the frustrating limitations of insurance, Dr. Lee's office worked with me to make sure that I had a clear idea of all costs without any surprises, and offered a payment plan to make the financial commitment easier. I wasn't thrilled about having braces again in my 30s, but Dr. Lee made sure to minimize the time I spent in braces to the period around the surgery, and I was able to wear Invisalign for the majority of the orthodontic work. The entire process from start to finish was just a year and a half- not bad at all! The results are incredible. I had put off this surgery since I was a teenager, and suffered with TMJ pain, grinding, and an open bite for almost two decades. Now, my bite is perfect, I can chew, breathe, and sleep with ease, and my TMJ pain and grinding are completely gone! It is a difficult process but for anyone who needs to get this surgery, I cannot recommend Dr. Lee highly enough! read more

I went to Dr. Lee for invisalign. In my 40s I was to the point where I thought it was impossible to fix my teeth without brbraces, which i did not want. I decided to get an opinion from Dr. Lee and began my invisalign treatment. He truly kindest, patient and most caring dentist I have ever been to. He estimated that we would be done within a year and I had horrible overcrowding which had kept me from smiling without covering my mouth for years! He is such a perfectionist and wouldn't end my treatment until he could get the best results he thought he could achieve. I was left with even better results than he thought I could get considering I didn't want to get my wisdom teeth removed prior to beginning the treatment. I just finished my treatment with Dr. Lee and I am BEYOND satisfied with the results! I started my treatment in July of 2016 and my braces were debonded February 27th, 2018 making it a total of 19 months. When I first went in for consult I was told it would take about 18 months, so 19 months wasn't too far from the estimation. Advice: ALWAYS follow your treatment plan, don't get lazy. Take care of your teeth and braces and ALWAYS wear your elastics for the time you're supposed to or you will fall behind on treatment leaving you with braces for longer. Star bright orthodontics has a very nice, clean office. The waiting area has a TV that's always playing some movie or show so you're not bored waiting. I always made my appointments on Sundays and honestly I never waited more than 15 minutes to be called in. The regular visits normally take no more than 15-20 minutes and they usually just change wires, power chains, and ties. Dr. Lee always took his time to answer any questions I had about my treatment, and he worked with me to help me get my treatment done before my goal deadline. (I am going to Japan in April and wanted to take tourist photos with my new smile) As you can see I got them off well ahead of schedule. After taking off my braces I got my impressions for my essix (clear) retainers done and I was told to go back after 5 to pick them up. The retainers are not as bad as everyone complains about. I wear them day and night no pain at all, they did a great job making them. If you're interested in braces you should definitely look into Dr. Lee and his team of friendly and efficient staff! I know this place has good reviews but I personally have not had the same results as others, I am a very friendly easy going person, so it's rare that I would have an issue with anyone but the receptionist/front desk gal/manager is RUDE beyond imagine! She seems to lack the skills of being cordial and patient when discussing anything in great detail, she is pushy and quick to cut you off REGARDLESS of how kind you are to her in return.
