The food is delicious. For a gluten free person like me, finding fried chicken where the breading doesn't fall off is a blessing. But for two pieces of dark, side of rice and Cole slaw, $20 is too much. And we waited over 30 mins to get our food. But the lady was really nice and we enjoyed our email. The space itself is no frills with many fans running at once. But it's clean. And tasty. So no complaints.

I was down in Chula Vista for my son's water polo tournament nearby and we didn't want to be held hostage by the snack bar so we went on the hunt for some awesome fried chicken. Low and behold we found Knockout Chicken and confirmed that the title didn't lie. The exterior of the restaurant is a bit understated but if you've got any experience in finding hidden gems, that's usually a good sign. Focus on the food and not the Facade!! We ordered Wings, Ramen and Spicy Chicken Sandwiches. All of it came out fast, fresh, and amazing. The breading on the Chicken Sandwich and wings was light but flavorful and had a great crisp to it. The ramen was hearty and delicious as well. You can't go wrong with this place. We need them to offer a Salt and Pepper version of their wings next and we'd drive down there from North County!!! Even my mother in law who typically doesn't approve of any places other than her 5-6 favorite restaurants was raving about it. Keep up the great work!!!!!

Amazing service, very clean establishment and quality food that you can taste. The chicken is so juicy and large pieces! You are definitely getting your moneys worth! The rice flour breading is very unique. Apparently not many places use this type of flour as it's more expensive and healthier for you too! The owner was so attentive and sweet to my all customers! Support this business! They deserve it! It's a great shopping center too! Plenty of parking and very safe!

I want to say I'm deeply disappointed in the food. I have been wanting to try this place for a long time now I moved back from Georgia where I experienced Korean fried chicken for the first time and I was excited to come and have it again here in Chula Vista. I went in for lunch the cashier/waitress was very friendly so I give her a five star review. The fried chicken wings were crispy, but did not meet up to my expectations, as they were flavorless. I ordered the 12 piece wings with a soy spicy sauce and a honey garlic sauce and when I received my order, my wings were dry and I got sauce on the side. When I ordered wings I expected them to be coated in sauce, not dry and have to dip your own wings. however, upon tasting the wing sauce, I realized that it was not authentic Korean chicken sauce. what was given to me for the honey garlic, was pancake syrup with too much garlic to hide the maple syrup flavor , and it was extremely watered down like it was so runny and it was cold and it was gross. The soy sauce, was OK, but it lacked imagination. It was again very runny and I was not what I expected. Authentic Korean sauce is thick. I expect the sauces for these kind of wings to be thick and flavorful and these were not. I asked the waitress if she could trade out the sauces for me she brought me some other options and all the options that she brought me were a complete fail. My surprises me is the barbecue sauce. I quickly could identify it to be sweet baby Ray's spicy barbecue so nothing about this place screams authentic Korean chicken, and I can only assume that the owners are not Koreans because the flavor is not there. A paprika and water sauce as spicy Asian is not a thing. I won't be back.

I can't get enough of this place, especially their Korean fried chicken made with rice flour--it's a game changer. The chicken comes out crispy on the outside, super juicy on the inside, and always made to order, so be sure to order ahead if you can. The fact that we have legit Korean fried chicken right here in Chula Vista is incredible! I spoke with the owner, and it turns out they've been serving up this deliciousness for four years. Every bite is fresh, and I love pairing it with a side of rice, relish, and coleslaw--seriously, it's the perfect combo. Whatever sauce you're feeling, get it on the side and dip away! If you're craving some amazing fried chicken, this place is 100% worth both your time and money. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

We got the chicken katsu plate, spicy soy garlic chicken and Cajun fries. Everything came really hot and crispy. The chicken katsu was their own breading with the katsu sauce on top, a little different from traditional katsu but really good none the less. The Cajun fries were fresh out the fryer without being greasy and the perfect amount of Cajun seasoning. And finally the spicy soy garlic we asked for mild and was a great balance between sweet and savory with just a small hint of spice, not to mention really crispy. Service was really good as well, would definitely recommend if you're in the mood for some fried chicken!

First Time Trying this place for Fied Chicken and wings. Very nice Cozy and Modern spot . My Family was up for a snack before going to Smart and Final for Groceries and we seen their Restaurant and wanted to try their Chicken. We Changed our plans. We went inside and ordered the Triple spiced Chicken wings which was actually a Whole Chicken chopped Fried in a sweet and Spicy Fiery sauce . Chicken was Crispy, Spicy with a hint of sweetness and Juicy center everything you look for in eating Fried Chicken and wings. We also had the Spicy Ramen which was very tasty as well . Customer Service was great and actually got to speak with the Owner as he prepared our food and came out after to make sure everything was on point. We will be going back for Dinner another day so we can try some more of their delicious Chicken for sure. The Owner also informed us that thier Chicken is Gluten for those that would be searching for a delicious Gluten free Option for Fried Chicken.

Summary: Duckbboki is better than the chicken, ask for sauce on the side to avoid $3 extra charge, ordering whole is cheaper than two halves We came around 12pm on a Saturday. It wasn't busy at all so we ate at the restaurant. We ordered the Duckbboki, half of sweet & spicy, and half of spicy soy chicken. We wanted to do the half & half order option but that only gives one sauce option with original. If you want to try two sauce type chicken you have to order them individually in half sizes. Whole size half & half is 28.99 while half sizes of any flavor is $14.99. And if you ask for the sauce on the chicken, they charge you a "toss fee" of $3. We were not notified of this fee so we found out after leaving by looking at the receipt (we paid at the counter before leaving). So we paid $48.46 in total before tax for the three orders including 2.49 for one fountain drink. The chicken was juicy and crunchy but their sauce was more on the watery side than the thicker syrup style. So getting it tossed didn't really make a difference as we were keep dipping it in the sauce in the plate. Some pieces were dry but it was probably because they were flat small pieces. Neither of their sauces were spicy at all so if you can't eat spicy food, these two options would still be good for you. The portions wasn't too big as three of us ladies were able to clean all three plates.

I got the kimchi, sweet potato fries, and fried gizzards. The kimchi and sweet potato fries were okay. The fried gizzards were fried perfectly. I wish there was some sort of sauce added even though it said there was spicy soy garlic, I didn't taste anything but just the fried batter. The lady who took our order was nice and friendly. Plenty of seating inside and it is located in a shopping plaza so plenty of parking.

The chickens are really good and perfectly fried, I usually order the original because I don't like to have chicken tasted sweet and this is perfectly cooked. Paired it with Ramyon and Pickled Radish is truly makes the food tasted better, I loved radish just like eating tacos with radish makes the palette get reseted lots of times.

First of all I love the hospitable staff. But man... the quality of the fried chicken is 5 stars. Perfectly breaded and fried. Perfect for the palette. Great perfect spot to go to after work where you just want to unwind and drink a beer and enjoy some perfect fried chicken

Size of Original Fried Chicken (supposed to be two drumsticks and three thighs)

I ordered the 5-piece legs and thighs to go. When I opened the box, I first thought I'd mistakenly been given boneless nuggets due to the size of the pieces. Once I got home I realized I had two drumsticks and three chunks of breaded white meat (legs and thighs are dark meat) - - Highly disappointing as I do not eat white meat. So essentially I received two drumsticks for $13. That said, the chicken had just the right amount of spice (not too hot) and the two workers I interacted with very were friendly. One star given for atmosphere due to the lack of air conditioning (it's over 80° and it was stifling inside the restaurant). I really wanted to like this place but alas, I will not return.

The food is not great, not even delicious, but very expensive. I paid $28.79 for this crap.

Best Korean fried chicken out there. Rice flour is awesome as batter. Angry sauce is the way to go on the side of course. Onion rings and Cajun fries are also excellent addition. Service is excellent and the owners are very nice. read more

Hands down best korean chicken I have tried in a while! Disclaimer: I have only tried a handful of places so I would say I've tried many different kinds. Service is spot on. All gender restroom. Kpop is played the whole time so if you aren't into the more upbeat and energy full music then I'd get take out. Or brave it or bring ear plugs/ear buds xD Food: The sauce can be overpowering for some especially for those who do not eat spicy. What I did? Get original and then get the sauce on the side. This way I don't get tired of the taste and I can try the different sauces. Also, the chicken tastes good by itself. So when I'm not feeling the sauce I can just keep chowing on the original. I'm not a big spicy person and the mild was just right. A slight kick. Got the full chicken legs and thigh to share. It was very Juicy. I loved it. Hit the spot. Tastes better fresh. Price was reasonable compared to other places and great for sharing. Highly recommend! read more

CHECK IT OUT! In the mall and tired of the same old..so we walked a bit further and saw knockout chicken and we decided to try it. It was SO delicious! the spicey chicken was incredible! the chicken sandwich had a very nice and different taste! They make THEIR own sauce! Service is great! The fried chicken here is really good (crunchy) along with the different types of sauce. The service is great (Sandra) but I've noticed most people prefer take out. The ambiance is chill. They have lunch special until 3 pm. The Cajun fries& regular fries are crunchy/good too but it's spicy for me since I don't eat much spicy food. I recommend trying this place out if you're in the mood for Korean fried chicken! read more

Knockout Chicken knocked it OUT of the park! Homerun! We got the Mon-Tues Special of 10 spicy fried chicken leg and thighs, the side of coleslaw, sweet potato and regular fries, and a half order of roasted chicken (7 pieces). Everything was delicious. Loved the light but very crisp breading on the fried chicken, and then roasted chicken both had very good flavor. Coleslaw was not too sweet just right. Fries were all crisp and stayed crisp driving home too. Everything was very fresh. The place has bts performance videos which i loved and a very professional and helpful guy helping at the register, he was probs the owner bc he was very proud of their product and i see why. If you like spicy, this is NOT the place for you. Ordered boneless chicken (SPICY). The order I got looked and tasted to be regular chicken, but the cashier ensured it was spicy. Very little flavor in the chicken itself although the crunch is perfect. Ended up paying an additional $7 to get some sauce to make the chicken spicy as I initially desired. For the price, portion and lack of spice, I would not recommend coming here as I will not be returning myself. $27 for a small bowl of essentially chicken Nuggets. read more

Mmm Knockout Chicken... I really enjoyed their Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Of all spicy chicken sandwiches I've ever tried, i'd say this one knocked it out of the park. Every bite was delicious! I love how the cheese is melted into the bun and that their chicken is juicy! It goes well with their sauce too! I've also had their regular fried chicken and they were just as good! Every bite was perfect, crispy and satisfying! I definitely like Knockout's Chicken better than Bon Chon's for sure! read more

I came in on Thursday afternoon for a bite before picking my son up from sports practice. I came in and the restaurant was uncomfortable and warm. The guy at the counter took my order and food took about 20 mins before it came out. They packed my order to go, which I never mentioned I was taking it to go? So I was surprised when they brought it out to me because I was ready to eat! I ordered half the snow chicken, rice, & kimchi. They took my order to the table and I started to unpack it, which was when they brought me a plate and utensils, pickled radish and coleslaw. I really like their coleslaw! It was not sweet compared to your typical slaw. It balanced nice with the radish. The chicken was good, nice and crispy! They had k-pop playing on TV. I am hoping to try more of the food at another time. read more

You're not coming here for instant food--everything is fried when you order it. But everything we ordered was perfect and delicious. We got a half spicy soy fried chicken and a half an original mild and they were seasoned and fried to perfection. Added a side of rice and kimchi to round out our lunch and just can't say enough about the whole experience. You don't have to drive all the way to Convoy for great Korean Fried Chicken! read more

On a trip to Smart and Final I noticed this fried chicken spot a couple doors down. I actually smelled the chicken frying at first. I love fried chicken, so I had to give them a try. The restaurant is still observing its Covid safety protocols. So no dine in and you must wait outside for your order. I happened to be there on a Tuesday so I ordered the special. 12 pieces of their original chicken. I really like the crunch and taste of their chicken. As advertised, they use rice flour so it's lighter than your average fried chicken. The chicken was juicy and that seasoning they use can go toe to toe with the Colonels. What really made it stand out is the sauce. I got the honey garlic sauce . It was both sweet and savory. Really good stuff. Im looking forward to try their other sauces. They also give little sides of daikon and coleslaw. A nice addition to the meal. Overall, a great option when your in the mood for fried chicken. I'll update when I try some more of their sides and sauces. read more

Was looking for a new chicken place to try that didn't require a drive to the Convoy area and this place popped up. Glad I checked this place out as the food is delicious and the service was just as good as the chicken. I really appreciate the young man taking my order as I had so many questions. One I am lactose intolerant and had plenty of questions on the sauces (which one are dairy free?). The house sauce I am happy to say is dairy free as well as the batter they use for the chicken. As well as the coleslaw. Next set of questions was what would be the recommend item to start since it was my first time. It was recommended to try the chicken sandwich with fries. Didn't have to tell me twice! I ordered the combo with a Fanta soda (they have the fountain soda or glass bottle soda options) with the honey garlic sauce. I did have to wait a little bit for my order, but that is because they made it as I ordered so keep that in mind if you come super hungry. The chicken was a decent size and flavorful. Crips was perfect. I asked for the honey garlic sauce on the side and I had a feeling it might be too sweet and take away from the chicken seasonings. It sure was sweet. I would recommend this sauce for a spicy chicken sandwich to cool down the spice. The fries were sooo good! Definitely get the fries. The owner stopped at the table to say hi and make sure everything was ok. Has been awhile that I dined at a restaurant and the owner stopped by loved that gesture. Definitely going back to try the wings and this tangerine or orange flavor soju I saw LOL. Definitely recommend of looking for a new chicken place to try. read more

We ordered half and half chicken with spicy sauce and spicy soy for dinner last night. It came with Cole slaw and Pickled radish. The quality of the chicken was really good, the spicy sauce was too spicy, but the spicy soy was just perfect. It took 45 minutes for the food to be ready. Quite a long of a wait. Please order an hour prior, because it takes them a while to prepare the orders. Total of $40 for everything. Shared between 3 people. Not too bad at all. read more

I love this place. Thank god for gluten free boneless wings!! I order a batch of these plain and pair it with my favorite GF sauce at home and I'm set for football season. I recently was diagnosed with celiac disease, so eating gluten is life threatening -- and it's in almost everything! Such a hard adjustment, but this place has made it much easier on me. Can't wait to pair their chicken with different GF sauces. Even my non-celiac fiancé loves it! Highly recommend for others, especially those with CD. read more

Came on a Friday afternoon with my fiance for a late lunch date. Staff was extremely helpful and went over the entire menu when we mentioned we had never eaten here before. Based on her recommendations we had the most amazing lunch. The fried chicken is awesome and full of flavor. There are a ton of varieties to please every palet. I also enjoyed the beers on tap, which paired deliciously with our meal. Definitely recommend and will be coming back! read more

7/20/21 was my first time here. I stopped for lunch and grabbed food to bring to my son. I met Sandra cashier. I was treated with great customer service. Despite being hot and humid. The man who took my order over the phone was the most unenthusiastic person I've ever interacted with in customer service. He sounded like he hated his job so much, I felt bad for him. I ordered a half order of the original fried chicken. The chicken is basic, nothing special and extremely overpriced. I only enjoyed the drumstick, everything else was underwhelming. I had ordered mine spicy but it wasn't spicy at all, not sure if the person who took my order forgot to indicate spicy when he entered my order? The meal doesn't come with any sauce which I was surprised about, but it comes with complimentary coleslaw and pickled radish? I was hoping it would come with 1 sauce and then you'd have to pay for any extras, but $2 for a side of sauce is excessive. Food is good, but the menu online and the actual cost is a big difference. We ordered a chicken dish online it's 9.99 but when we purchased it was $15.21. I also ordered wellbeing chicken for $30. When you eat it there you get a lot of vegetables almost the same amount as chicken. But this time I took it to go and it was half the vegetables then before. For chicken and vegetables for $30 you do expect more. Won't be ordering this dish again. Food is good but prices are not as posted online. Knockout Chicken is hands-down the best Korean fried chicken spot I've ever been to. Their chicken is consistently battered and fried to a light, crispy perfection that's hard to beat. The honey garlic sauce is a standout--perfectly balanced and bursting with flavor. Every bite is pure bliss, especially when paired with their refreshing daikon. The daikon is crisp, cooling, and complements the chicken and rice perfectly. I've also tried their healthy chicken wraps, which are fantastic. The grilled chicken is seasoned and cooked to perfection, and the fresh veggies add a delicious crunch. It's fun to wrap the chicken in daikon slices, making little healthy tacos. The service varies depending on who's at the register. Sometimes you're greeted by someone friendly and welcoming; other times, they're more reserved, though never rude. The person at the register also handles hosting and serving, which adds a casual, laid-back vibe to the place. I believe the owner occasionally comes out to check on customers, which is a nice personal touch. Overall, the food is so good that I wouldn't knock down any stars for service. Knockout Chicken falls short in terms of value and service. It's disappointing that they charge extra to add sauce and even more to toss the chicken in it, which feels excessive. The boneless chicken portions also come with an underwhelming amount of sauce, making the flavors feel incomplete. For the price, you'd expect a better experience, but unfortunately, the nickel-and-diming ruins it. You're better off heading to BBQ Chicken, which offers better portions and value without the extra fees. read more

I waited 45 minutes for half and half chicken I got home and the chicken was all the same with sauce on the side I called I went back explained it to them and waited again and the chicken came out wrong again the manager was there and she did nothing about it I will never go there again read more

Just tried this new spot and the service was friendly and the food was delicious. 10/10 spot for Korean fried chicken. I would recommend the original chicken with spicy soy sauce. Hands down the best Korean chicken in San Diego read more

The fried chicken here is really flavorful tasty crispy and delicious. It is better than bonchon chicken and one of the best fried chicken places in SD. They use rice flour so it is very crispy and not as oily. read more
