The lady was a sweetheart, I'm guessing that is Sue. There is wonderful comments about her on here. The guy is a prune for sure. No sense of customer service at all. Almost made it feel uncomfortable been inside. Came in to have them look at two if my windup watches that didn't seem to be quite working properly. So he took at look at them and very much pretended that I was not there and just spoke to her. Which made it even more awkward standing there. One of my watches it appears it needs a service and needs quite a fix and it would be $48 dollars to fix and the other one just needs more winning. Very honest of him I will say. He could have easily told me it needed a fix. I didn't get the other one fix. I am no expert on how much it should be charged but it did seem a bit pricey for my pocket at the moment. I did get three links removed from my watch and it was only a five dollar charge. That was very good. Overall good spot. read more

This place is awesome. I went here based on the good yelp reviews saying repair prices were fair. Also, they've been in business in A.V. for a long time and have a lot of reviewers saying they are trustworthy. I needed to have a ring resized and my wife's engagement ring cleaned. I saved about $100 having Knolls do this vs. Ozel Jewelers in Victorville. Plus the two guys working at Ozel seemed shady to me. While I was at Knolls for the resize and cleaning, I bought a couple of unique and beautiful rings for our two daughters. They had one in white gold and one in yellow gold, and I asked if they could get a second one in white. It turns out they were custom rings made on site, and they were able to make another one in white gold in just a couple of days. My girls love their rings, and I got a really good deal. I had forgotten Knolls Jewelers was here, after moving away for several years then returning to the high desert. Recently, a prong on my wedding ring felt a little sharp, so of course, I checked my faithful YELP for a local jewelry repair store with good reviews, only to find Knolls Jewelers was still in business in the same Apple Valley location, and had great reviews! I went in and found Sue was still there after over a decade or longer, just as friendly, just as helpful. The moment I walked in this store, I felt like I could trust them with my expensive jewelry and that they weren't going to over-sell me with expensive repairs that weren't necessary. I love that they are considerate of their working customers to close for a late lunch at 2:30 so that I could stop by on my noon-hour lunch hour to pick up my rings. They replaced all my prongs on my diamond, polished both my rings and made them look brand spanking new. I could not be more pleased with the price and the service. They aren't horrible but a one star just means that I can't recommend them unless you just don't care how your jewelry looks. They might fix a chain but it won't be pretty. I had them fix two chains and wow! One was so bad that after an hour I realized that if I didn't go back that I wouldn't wear it. So I went back and they actually said "you should have told us what you wanted." What! I don't know the terminology of the pieces (findings). That is not the customer's job. They would have had to ask me "do you want a good job or a poor job?" in order for me to have known that I needed to try to get descriptive. I know when I see it but somehow I just assumed that they would make the new end look like the original. They told me that what they did for me the first time is what people usually want. Wow! No, I want it to look right. I mean, this is jewelry and not a necessity. Er, the point is "how it looks" afterall. :) read more
