I had a routine Colonoscopy a few days ago from this amazing team and the entire experience was nothing like I expected it to be. From start to finish, they kept me informed on how to properly prep, what to expect throughout the procedure, as well as after-care. Upon arriving, the front-desk rep was super friendly with gathering all my information to get me checked in. When I got to my room, the awesome service continued with a phenomenal team of women! Shout out to Alexis, Camille, Carrie, CeCe, Linda and Charlene for making me feel so comfortable There also was a male nurse that hooked up my IV and leads, but I don't recall his name. His bedside manner was respectful, patient, and professional - exactly what I needed to ease my anxiety before starting such a vulnerable procedure. Before the actual procedure started, Dr. Erika Madrigal Hoyos came into my room to introduce herself to let me know that she would be performing the colonoscopy and let me know what to expect. I had a colonoscopy today at Knott Family Endoscopy Center, and I wanted to share what an excellent experience I had. For anyone who is nervous or scared about getting a colonoscopy, this is the place to go. From start to finish, the entire process was organized, caring, and professional. Scheduling the appointment was easy, and the intake nurse thoroughly explained the procedure and answered questions ahead of time. Leading up to the procedure, I received helpful text reminders and clear instructions each day regarding the prep process, which made everything much less stressful. The care team was exceptional throughout the entire visit. The nurses and doctor were kind, attentive, and reassuring. The doctor introduced himself personally before the procedure, and the staff made me feel safe and comfortable the entire time. Aftercare was also excellent, including coordinating my pickup and ensuring transportation safety before discharge. This visit was handled with professionalism and compassion from beginning to end. Excellent, competent and compassionate care. From the moment you enter their doors until the moment you stepped out of their doors, you will know that. Be assured that you would want to return to this facility, even if it's 3,4,5,or 7 years or more. I was warmly greeted by the front office staff and made comfortable by all the RNs in the back exam rooms and in the Endoscopy room. Everyone took the time to explain what they were going to do and did so with professionalism and respect. I had to have my third colonoscopy, and Knott family endoscopy is where i was sent. Well, as soon as arriving at my scheduled check in time, until the time i left, my visit was amazing. The front desk was really on the ball, checking everyone in quickly. Once i went back and changed into my gown, the nurses were very professional, knowledgeable, and just plain nice. The procedure went well, no pain, no discomfort. I was in and out in about 90 minutes. I was giving a very detailed form of what they did, what they found, etc. For sure i would recommend KNOTT FAMLY ENDOSCOPY. 5 STARS read more

If you're looking for condescending doubt, here's the place! It sucks to have symptoms of something and telling them thats something is wrong to have them DOUBT me before going under for a colonoscopy, to find 3 polyps, 1 bad, with no sorry no nothing. Not only that, the doctor who performed the biopsy wouldn't respond for months! Extremely unprofessional doctor. The only nice thing there were the people who made you comfortable before going under. This review is more for my discharge nurse. I did not have a great experience at this clinic/hospital. I have a fear of needles which has never been a problem with my previous hospital experiences (at other hospitals/clinics). I ended up fainting and the IV didn't work until the third try, which was not their fault but it was so painful. But at the end of my procedure, my discharge nurse was terrible. I was still heavily sedated from the anesthesia and not conscious and I was forced out. My partner who was picking me up knew I was not ready yet the discharge nurse was shaking me, making me nauseous, telling me it was time to leave trying to force me to get up. I had to leave with them holding me up because I couldn't stand on my own. I asked for a barf bag and my partner called for the nurse to get one, which she replied that she would bring one, yet it never came. Leaving their care scared me. My previous colonoscopy experience elsewhere was absolutely amazing, so this is how I know their patient care was terrible. On my way home I threw up twice from the anesthesia. The only bag I had was the bag that was meant to carry my belongings prior to the operation. I will not be going back to this clinic/hospital for a colonoscopy. I wish I could remember the name of my discharge nurse, because I fear for others in her care. read more

First off, I want to acknowledge that the nurses and doctors were all very accommodating. That being said, I have been fighting the billing department for four months because my preventative procedure was charged as diagnostic and I was left with a $1500+ bill. My insurance has gone back and forth with this and I have had multiple reps tell me that I should not be paying this full charge, yet they have refused to change anything. Also, they sent me home with ANOTHER PATIENT'S PAPERWORK. I wish things would have gone smoother because I will have to get these types of procedures done pretty regularly and the medical staff here was helpful, but I will NEVER have another service done at this establishment. read more

This was my fourth time having a colonoscopy. Something people probably don't want to talk about on yelp, including myself. But this was the first time I had a five star experience. In other words, everybody was wonderful to me. The nurses here went above and beyond the call of duty. My gastroenterologist, Dr Yoon was fabulous as usual and my anesthesiologist, sorry I don't remember his name, was amazing. My procedures are more complicated, which require me to be put under rather than just twilight. Obviously the prep for this procedure is always miserable but I had a wonderful nurse available a phone call away to help guide me through any questions and the overall experience was better than anticipated. read more

This is a tough one to write. Although it's been challenging to schedule (called Sept. 9,2023) this procedure from the beginning and my procedure was Jan. 22, 2024, the staff, nurses, and doctors are all amazing. And I can somewhat get past the almost 5 months it took, the reason for the one star review is because they charged me over $850 for a procedure that is preventative and therefore should have been done at no cost. I assumed (stupid me) it was my deductible for the new year, however when I called my insurance provider, I was informed the doctor was in network and she showed I should not have been charged anything as it was preventative which is FREE. Theres nothing "free" about $850. Good luck getting my money back read more

Wow I'm going to review a Endoscopy center this will be different than the normal restaurants. First I had mine done about 6 months ago and was just amazed how nice everyone is from the phone calls to checking in. The nurses really take care of their patients and listen to all your question they are not in a rush at all. I had Dr Yoon and he did a fantastic job and took time to talk with me after my procedure. This brings us to current my wife just had hers and again from the front desk to the Nurses an amazing experience this time again I was the driver they call you when your partner is in the recovery room and they give you the room number and you park the the patient pick up this helps out a lot when leaving. I do love that the nurse walks the patient out to the car and makes sure you get in safely my wife had the pleasure of Dr Jamal and he was great took his time to go over what he saw and any recommendations If your on the fence about a location look no more read more

Being it my first time dropping off a family member for their first procedure Natalie dismissed the patient and family's empathy of asking my telling my family member to wait outside. I was standing next to him in shock. I understand COVD compliance yet she spoke of me in 3rd person in front of me. As for the lack of disregard of being scared and concerned I was handed a paper and shifted outside. First of all, having ANY medical procedure is never fun...and the prep day for a colonoscopy is challenging, humiliating, and uncomfortable. Keep in mind that there IS end to all that! Remember that they're screening for cancer and any other harmful gastric situations. If you have to do this, than THIS is the place to do it. Before you even begin the prep day, they have you stop by and pick up the paperwork. DO read and study what they want you to do. It will be easier than having to go through all that twice. And they have someone call you the day before to make sure they understand your current medications, and field any questions you may have. The whole staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Every nurse, every admin, the O.R. staff, and the doctor himself try to make to you comfortable and explain their role in your experience while maintaining professionalism and competence. (Shout out to my nurse "Sue" who eased my angst, and gave me an IV that didn't bruise!) The facility is considered an outpatient hospital, and it seems to be managed with all the current standards. Your personal medical history is taken into account, your safety and comfort are taken into account. Just like any doctors office, they can get behind schedule, which throws off their timing for the rest of the day. However, you shouldn't have anything else to do all day anyway. Tell your ride to bring a charged device or book. That part is inconvenient for your driver, but the edict really is in place for your safety. Everyone there helps to get dozens of patients in and out and they do an amazing tag-team job. They appear super organized, with each team member doing their part. read more

Bring a book, kindle, iPad because they will make you wait! We got told to be here at 9am and then later told the appointment was for 10:20am. They want you here an hour before your actual appointment! Then they are late for even that! Staff is generally polite and the facility is pretty clean. They offer free coffee which is ironic because most of their patients aren't allowed to eat or drink anything. Parking is easy. Don't park in the st Jude parking garage. They have their own lot. Dress for the winter. Their AC is on and they keep it very cold in the waiting room. Overall pretty disappointed with this place. If your doc gives you a few choices definitely consider a different location. read more

Got a pre surgery covid antigen test here now twice the staff and people inside are very nice but trying to get them to fax records to my doctor never happens it's for pre surgery I go in with a form to have them do the test with the fax number I specifically have to tell them to fax it and I am here for my procedure they still haven't done it and the doctor is now having to wait on them. Such a great experience getting it done very easy staff is nice and now to have to put up with this for the second time it isn't hard to fax something over especially when your doing it specifically for post surgery covid test. I don't need to stress before surgery I mean come on. read more

Unlike the other reviews, I've had a pretty pleasant experience here thus far, both as a patient and as a ride home to a patient. The medical center itself is really nice. It's modern and has a selection of coffee and tea for those waiting. But like any doctors office, it's a little intimidating. The process from the patient perspective was actually relatively painless, pun intended. I signed in, paid the copay and was taken in within a half an hour of arriving. They told us the wait was so long due to the fact that they complete the procedures in an assembly line fashion and they see one patient to the next and send everyone home pretty much at the same time. It's to save everyone time, really. All of the doctors and staff were really friendly and patient. I was thankful that they were so patient with me. I was extremely nervous and I hate needles. So really, overall I had a great experience here. I would definitely recommend it. My appointment was at 7am and I was released a little after 9am. Allow some time for delays for sure, but overall it's a pretty seamless process for all. read more

Health concerns require me to have a Colonoscopy every year. For many years I have been going to a specialist on the West Side. I heard good things about Dr. Mathews, and thought I would try him, and be closer to home! From our first meeting to the procedure follow-up, it was the most special, easy, competent experience I have had in nearly 20 years. I am only giving this facility one star because of the parking attendant. He was rude and obnoxious. The parking lot should be clearly marked for patients and employees! I called the office manager and received no help. I emailed St. Jude and received no response. I am very disappointed in their customer service. read more

Scheduled for a procedure at 10 am. Over 1 hour delay. Issue with the IV and had to go find a nurse to evaluate the IV site. The staff is friendly but never checked on my wife. Second procedure here with another. 2 for 2 for not being punctual. read more

Overall the facility is clean, but a bit small waiting area for all the patients that are booked, the waiting time was too long, we have been in the waiting area for 2 hours and continue to wait with no updates from the staff on how much longer the wait will be, remember people waiting have not had a decent meal for over 24 hours, which makes the wait less tolerable. I agree with one previous comment/YELPER, if you have a choice, find a different doctor for your endoscopy needs, or ask when booking your appointment ask what days or time of day are best to schedule where there are less chances of delays. read more
