    Cesar salad and salmon fillet
    Doug J.

About four years ago we had dinner at Bennett's while staying at Ocean Shores. We have been looking forward to a return visit. I enjoy their seafood while my wife enjoys the prime rib sandwich. This trip she went with sandwich yet again and found it still very good. Plenty of prime rib, melted cheese, and tasty bun. The fry sauce was a good compliment to the fries. I went with a Cesar salad with a grilled salmon fillet on top. I was very pleased. The salad had green crisp greens, a couple cherry tomatoes and peppers, plenty of Parmesan cheese and a few croutons. The salmon was very good. Seasoned well, flaky, and was a pretty large fillet. I had the dressing on the side and added as I wanted. I have never gone wrong at either of the Bennett's location. Stop in and have a good meal. Both meals were about $25 a piece but tasty and large portions for both.

The halibut was good, cod was heavy with batter, the oysters were delicious, the coleslaw lacked flavor, and the clams were heavily breaded & taste frozen. You order at the counter so there's not a lot of customer service, and it's farly pricey for fish baskets, we'll try another local fish spot next time we're in town.

The food was good at this restaurant but it wasn't shocking or noteworthy. When you arrive at the restaurant you order at the counter and get a number for your food. The ambiance for this restaurant is fairly casual, we sat outside and the tables were fairly dirty and they were uneven rocking throughout our meal. Napkins were on some tables and not others and were not given with the meal!

Don't know why this place gets beat on so much. Great fresh and crispy fish with a nice tap selection.

I hate to say it, but pretty disappointing. We had the Fish and Chips and Clam Chowder. Fish was overcooked, dry and somewhat bland. Beer batter would have been a lot better instead of panco. Clam chowder was definitely made in house but was was very bland. Even after adding salt and pepper it was still bland. Tarter sauce and cocktail sauce came in a container. Cocktail sauce was almost solid and was not dipable even after trying to stir it with my fork. Bathrooms were too small for number of customers. On the positive side, service was excellent and micro beer was refreshing. Would not return.

The oyster shooters had the biggest oysters Ive ever seen, we ordered two sets. The margaritas were perfectly blended. The clam chowder was loaded with clams. The fish and chips had two giant pieces of fish. The children's platter had an adult size piece of fish. Definitely going back when we return.

Bennett's Fish Shack is the kind of local spot you hope never changes. The halibut and chips were hands-down the best I've ever had -- perfectly cooked, flaky, and fresh without being greasy. The crab melt with cranberry salad was outstanding too, a great balance of rich and bright flavors. Even the details were dialed in: the Seattle soda (root beer and diet cola) was the best soda I've had in a long time, and somehow even the ketchup stood out -- it honestly tasted like fresh tomatoes. You can tell this is a true local joint. There aren't a ton of people working, but everyone there is hustling -- cooking, cleaning, taking orders, keeping things moving. We were checked on to see how our food was, and one of the women even stopped to chat and offer additional recommendations, which made the experience feel personal and welcoming. A friend recommended this place to me and he was absolutely on point. I saw a few earlier reviews mentioning staffing issues, and maybe that was the case at some point -- but honestly, I don't care. The food was delicious, I really liked the chowder, and the overall experience was exactly what you want from a place like this. I'll be back without hesitation.

The portions are pretty big, the pieces of cod are HUGE, but had no flavor. The service is friendly and quick, but the food is pretty bland.

While waiting for a table, one of the workers directed us to a corner table. But a solo diner was already sitting there-apparently miscommunication between the staff. Staff had to redirect them to the bar. Once seated, we had to ask 3x for water and despite asking for a straw 3x for my salted margarita, I never got one. In fact, I directly asked the owner/waiter/manager if he had a straw on him-his response "it's probably good that I don't" ‍‍. In general, they appeared very overwhelmed and scattered. My husband stated "almost felt like we were interrupting them ". I asked twice for our check & finally walked up to the bar to pay. Thankfully, the food made up for most of the disorganized service. We both ordered the chopper steak & cheese sandwich and our daughter had a bowl of clam chowder. All of us cleaned our plates!

A much needed ocean therapy was calling my name and I drove west. Ended up in Ocean Shores. I left my town due to how crazy busy it would be with parades and a carnival, not knowing what's in store here. A pleasant surprise to see the streets lined with families. Anyway, got to shop, enjoy the festivities, and more importantly spend time walking the beach. Gorgeous day! Which led me to try something new and ended up here at the Garage. The atmosphere here was electric with Mariners on a screen over the bar and the FIFA World Cup games on the other screen. Love the open patio area, where a cooling breeze can be felt all throughout the Garage. They were a bit busy, so it took a minute to greet me, but at least I was able to find a table. I ended up ordering their Fish & Chips, and a cup of their chowda! DAMN!!! That's a mighty fine cup of chowda! And the baked buttered crips was spot on. Never had it that way (just the usual soft sourdough or oyster crackers) but them sliced crisps were perfect and I'm going to have to try serving it that way at home. I started out with the Hot Honey Old Fashioned, and surprisingly, there was some heat. Thoroughly enjoyed it! The Fish & Chips were breaded a bit differently. Reminds me of the cornmeal you'd find in the south with fried catfish and what not. The cod was flaky and perfect. It came with three pieces and it was just right. The fries complimented it well. The tarter was legit. Not the standard white sauce, but seemed to have a hint of dill in it. All in all, a great experience for my first time. The staff was busy, but they ensured I was tended to. As always, enjoy and Happy Ocean Therapy!!

Run if you don't have extra thick skin to tolerate a blantly unfriendly racist cook. I live and work in Ocean Shores. I make an effort to support locals when the season's visitors are at an all-time low. This year has been cooler than usual. The tourists aren't coming in hoards yet. My husband and I stopped to support the business. We were friendly and spoke with other people waiting. The cashier girl must have gone to take a break. The cook never greeted us. There was only one customer in the store. We came in and waited patiently for 10 minutes for someone to take our order. We put in our order with the cook. He used the greasy gloves to run the register and touch cash. This wasn't acceptable to me. However, I don't work in sanitation or food service, so maybe that's OK to do between touching food? He glared at us and really just didn't want to be there. We felt the silent hate emanating from his words. Luckily, 6 new clients appeared. The cashier girl returned and took their orders. While 8 people are waiting inside the little takeout store.. the cook turned towards me while I was misconversation with another local and asked what I wanted on the brat. I asked him what options were available. He just glared at me with extreme impatience. This made everyone in the store, and I just paused in shock. The cashier girl just looked helpless. Since the cook never answered, I said my husband ordered the brat and would eat anything because we are fat. He just stomped back to his station without a word. This was witnessed by locals and visitors alike. We will never support a business who hates Asians and Native Americans. This is not a common experience in Ocean Shores. The locals are usually very kind and reasonable. I hope that the owner is aware of the cooks behavior and helps him have better customer relations. This is not acceptable. I work in the service industry, and I could have never treated a customer this way. If you are having a bad day. Stay home. april 11th, 2026…read more honestly, i was hesitant to come here at first due to the mixed recent reviews, but during a week-long stay in ocean shores, ocean beach roasters became our go-to place for coffee and breakfast. i don't have photos of everything we ordered (sorry! i wasn't initially planning on writing a review). over the course of a few visits, we ordered the sockeye benedict, country hash, G.O.A.T., brunch burger, turkey croissant, and eggs benedict. we also got the seasonal fruit, cottage potatoes, tim's salted potato chips, sausage patties, side toast, and cookie. as a warning to others, the main thing we DID NOT LIKE was the seasonal fruit extra/add-on because it was $4 for literally 5 pieces of fruit. we were disappointed about the quantity and think this should just be taken off the menu as i don't think anyone would want to pay this price for that little amount of fruit. however, the rest of our food and experiences was enjoyable, so we're able to look past this. i can see why some people would think the service can take some time, but there are usually only 1-2 people working the floor. so yeah, it's going to take some time, especially when it's busy. pls have some patience and communicate w the staff if you need anything. the employees were always nice, welcoming, and hospitable every time we came, especially greta (hopefully that is her name!!!). we were helped by her every time we came in. my friend rly admired her work ethic (called her a hustler) as she was always doing something, whether it was cleaning, taking an order, serving food, making coffee, etc. all the staff was great. we mostly interacted with the women who work here, but were assisted by greta the most so we always looked forward to seeing her :) i made a joke to my friend that when i ordered the G.O.A.T., i'm surprised greta didn't come with my order. as for the food, we rly liked a lot of it. both of the eggs benedicts were better than some of the ones i have had in seattle, so i was pleasantly surprised. the english muffins were toasted deliciously, the hollandaise sauce was a good consistency and flavor, and the eggs were poached well and runny. the croissant for my turkey croissant was flaky and airy mmm my friend wants to get this the next time he's here! i appreciate the variety of the menu for both food and coffee. it was hard for me to decide what to eat every time because i wanted to try a lot of the menu!!! i also appreciate how many sauces they have as condiments. they have a whole wall shelf of different sauces (i was excited to see the yellowbird sriracha hot sauce). as for the coffee, i think it's ok lol. it's fine to get just to get but after i tried the specialty drinks they had at the time (the lucky charm latte and nutty irishman cold brew) i didn't want anything else. they had a lot of syrups though!! which i like as a sweet coffee girlie. overall, my friend and i enjoyed every visit we made to this establishment and would 100% recommend it to everyone, both visiting and local. my friend's review: Service is amazing. They had good oatmeal raisin cookies. The coffee is alright. Good amount of options on the menu, not too many, which is nice. Food is fresh. Greta is the GOAT. She's a very hard worker. The bathroom is clean. The blue agave Siracha is good. The eggs benedict is good. Nice interior. They have the best ice, crushed ice
