Cod, clams and fries and a bale breaker ipa

Don't know why this place gets beat on so much. Great fresh and crispy fish with a nice tap selection.

I hate to say it, but pretty disappointing. We had the Fish and Chips and Clam Chowder. Fish was overcooked, dry and somewhat bland. Beer batter would have been a lot better instead of panco. Clam chowder was definitely made in house but was was very bland. Even after adding salt and pepper it was still bland. Tarter sauce and cocktail sauce came in a container. Cocktail sauce was almost solid and was not dipable even after trying to stir it with my fork. Bathrooms were too small for number of customers. On the positive side, service was excellent and micro beer was refreshing. Would not return.

The food was good at this restaurant but it wasn't shocking or noteworthy. When you arrive at the restaurant you order at the counter and get a number for your food. The ambiance for this restaurant is fairly casual, we sat outside and the tables were fairly dirty and they were uneven rocking throughout our meal. Napkins were on some tables and not others and were not given with the meal!

Amazing clam strips and fish and chips. Service was excellent, although you do order at the counter and they bring it to you. We were seated no more than 4-5 minutes and the food was brought out hot and fresh. Highly recommend when in Ocean Shores

Battered cod was good with the freshly made cocktail sauce. Halibut was meh, unremarkable. Commoditised tartar sauce focused more on the commode concerning its flavour. Clams and Fries were ok. The "clam chowder" was more of a bland and chunky wall paper paste, no cream or depth of flavour. Music was way too loud by the self service counter which made it difficult to communicate.

Bennett's Fish Shack is the kind of local spot you hope never changes. The halibut and chips were hands-down the best I've ever had -- perfectly cooked, flaky, and fresh without being greasy. The crab melt with cranberry salad was outstanding too, a great balance of rich and bright flavors. Even the details were dialed in: the Seattle soda (root beer and diet cola) was the best soda I've had in a long time, and somehow even the ketchup stood out -- it honestly tasted like fresh tomatoes. You can tell this is a true local joint. There aren't a ton of people working, but everyone there is hustling -- cooking, cleaning, taking orders, keeping things moving. We were checked on to see how our food was, and one of the women even stopped to chat and offer additional recommendations, which made the experience feel personal and welcoming. A friend recommended this place to me and he was absolutely on point. I saw a few earlier reviews mentioning staffing issues, and maybe that was the case at some point -- but honestly, I don't care. The food was delicious, I really liked the chowder, and the overall experience was exactly what you want from a place like this. I'll be back without hesitation.

Pass this place up. The Clam Chowder here is WTF and BS from a can. Very tasteless. I ended up leaving it because it was shear garbage. Looking around other costumers were leaving their food too. The Bay Shrimp Cocktail was meh. I lime a little hot sauce with both my clam chowder and shrimp cocktail. I asked one of the staff members for some Tabasco and he rudely said we don't carry it here. I ask for any other hot sauce and he reluctantly pointed to a corner. I went up to set some hot sauce and there was none. I looked at other tables and they had none either. I asked the front counter and they said what you see is what you get. This place is BS!

We've been to the Ocean Shores a few times as well as Bennett's in Westport. We've always had great customer service and delicious hot food here. The menu has great selections and never disappoints. The fish and chips are delicious as well as the chowder. We haven't hit any long lines here because we luxury to be able go on their off hours. The restaurant is sizable and the restaurant has ample parking.

Ok. Not great. Cod and chips. A soda. Fried jalapenos. They charge credit card fee. $30 for one. It's basic basic. Go to a counter. Order. They bring it to you. That's the end of service. No checking on the table, no inquiries of dessert or further ordering. We were expecting more.

This local restaurant is truly Worthed to stop by if you are in Ocean Shores. Specially if you are a fish lover.. fresh seafood and they have a great prime dip with generous portions. This place is very popular with locals.. plus great Margaritas... great bar.

Bread bowl chowder and Crab Cakes!

We've enjoyed this place both times we visited. Crab cakes were solid, the chowder as well. The soda fountain has lots of unique options to choose from! The bar area looked like a decent place to watch a game as well. Would return next time we are in Ocean Shores!

Inconsistency is definitely an issue here.

A much needed ocean therapy was calling my name and I drove west. Ended up in Ocean Shores. I left my town due to how crazy busy it would be with parades and a carnival, not knowing what's in store here. A pleasant surprise to see the streets lined with families. Anyway, got to shop, enjoy the festivities, and more importantly spend time walking the beach. Gorgeous day! Which led me to try something new and ended up here at the Garage. The atmosphere here was electric with Mariners on a screen over the bar and the FIFA World Cup games on the other screen. Love the open patio area, where a cooling breeze can be felt all throughout the Garage. They were a bit busy, so it took a minute to greet me, but at least I was able to find a table. I ended up ordering their Fish & Chips, and a cup of their chowda! DAMN!!! That's a mighty fine cup of chowda! And the baked buttered crips was spot on. Never had it that way (just the usual soft sourdough or oyster crackers) but them sliced crisps were perfect and I'm going to have to try serving it that way at home. I started out with the Hot Honey Old Fashioned, and surprisingly, there was some heat. Thoroughly enjoyed it! The Fish & Chips were breaded a bit differently. Reminds me of the cornmeal you'd find in the south with fried catfish and what not. The cod was flaky and perfect. It came with three pieces and it was just right. The fries complimented it well. The tarter was legit. Not the standard white sauce, but seemed to have a hint of dill in it. All in all, a great experience for my first time. The staff was busy, but they ensured I was tended to. As always, enjoy and Happy Ocean Therapy!!

The food quality has improved a great deal since I was last here a few years ago. I ordered the seafood fettuccine, cheese curds and Brussels sprouts. The serving sizes of the pasta and sprouts was for 2 people. I inhaled the pasta dish, so incredibly tasty. The seafood was fresh, and there was just one small hard bit of clam shell but that happens when serving them on the shell. Jumbo shrimp wasn't expected and seemed to have been swimming that morning. Tasty salmon. Divine sauce, which I don't think I've ever thought of an Alfredo before. Quality cheese. The sprouts were roasted/blackened, and tasted great. A bit of fried onions, I think, sprinkled on top that I just ate around (just not for me). Cheese curds were still hot and fresh with marinara and a BBQ sauce I added. Leftovers fed me lunch the next day. It was one of those meals where I was ful but wanted to keep eating, it was so delicious.

The service seemed friendly overall, but there were moments that said otherwise. When a glass of water was spilled right in front of the server, she didn't offer any extra napkins or help clean the table. My pasta was worse than Domino's. I didn't even take it to go -- it was completely bland, and the shrimp were tough. My aunt ordered fish with vegetables, and the carrots were clearly burnt. At first, I thought maybe it was some kind of preparation style I didn't understand, but no -- they were simply burnt. Honestly, it's especially disappointing because I had recommended this place to my friends before. I live a few hours away and came here partly for good food, but even being very hungry after the long wait didn't make the meal any better. The oysters were also flavorless. On top of that, I didn't feel well after dinner and had stomach pain. I can't say for sure it was caused by the food, but it definitely added to the negative experience.

april 11th, 2026…read more honestly, i was hesitant to come here at first due to the mixed recent reviews, but during a week-long stay in ocean shores, ocean beach roasters became our go-to place for coffee and breakfast. i don't have photos of everything we ordered (sorry! i wasn't initially planning on writing a review). over the course of a few visits, we ordered the sockeye benedict, country hash, G.O.A.T., brunch burger, turkey croissant, and eggs benedict. we also got the seasonal fruit, cottage potatoes, tim's salted potato chips, sausage patties, side toast, and cookie. as a warning to others, the main thing we DID NOT LIKE was the seasonal fruit extra/add-on because it was $4 for literally 5 pieces of fruit. we were disappointed about the quantity and think this should just be taken off the menu as i don't think anyone would want to pay this price for that little amount of fruit. however, the rest of our food and experiences was enjoyable, so we're able to look past this. i can see why some people would think the service can take some time, but there are usually only 1-2 people working the floor. so yeah, it's going to take some time, especially when it's busy. pls have some patience and communicate w the staff if you need anything. the employees were always nice, welcoming, and hospitable every time we came, especially greta (hopefully that is her name!!!). we were helped by her every time we came in. my friend rly admired her work ethic (called her a hustler) as she was always doing something, whether it was cleaning, taking an order, serving food, making coffee, etc. all the staff was great. we mostly interacted with the women who work here, but were assisted by greta the most so we always looked forward to seeing her :) i made a joke to my friend that when i ordered the G.O.A.T., i'm surprised greta didn't come with my order. as for the food, we rly liked a lot of it. both of the eggs benedicts were better than some of the ones i have had in seattle, so i was pleasantly surprised. the english muffins were toasted deliciously, the hollandaise sauce was a good consistency and flavor, and the eggs were poached well and runny. the croissant for my turkey croissant was flaky and airy mmm my friend wants to get this the next time he's here! i appreciate the variety of the menu for both food and coffee. it was hard for me to decide what to eat every time because i wanted to try a lot of the menu!!! i also appreciate how many sauces they have as condiments. they have a whole wall shelf of different sauces (i was excited to see the yellowbird sriracha hot sauce). as for the coffee, i think it's ok lol. it's fine to get just to get but after i tried the specialty drinks they had at the time (the lucky charm latte and nutty irishman cold brew) i didn't want anything else. they had a lot of syrups though!! which i like as a sweet coffee girlie. overall, my friend and i enjoyed every visit we made to this establishment and would 100% recommend it to everyone, both visiting and local. my friend's review: Service is amazing. They had good oatmeal raisin cookies. The coffee is alright. Good amount of options on the menu, not too many, which is nice. Food is fresh. Greta is the GOAT. She's a very hard worker. The bathroom is clean. The blue agave Siracha is good. The eggs benedict is good. Nice interior. They have the best ice, crushed ice
