    Italian Beef
    Kudakwashe T.

The food is hot, fresh, and tasty. I got the 'Italian Beef' dry with a side of au jus to dip the sandwich in. It was very delicious. The service is fast, amicable, and friendly. The ambiance is warm, soft, and friendly throughout the restaurant. There's a small bar that sits beside two TVs where you can sit and watch baseball or other sports. There's a small store of items if you want ti buy a six pack or other goodies near the bar. The deli order is in the room posterior to the bar where the magic happens. The restaurant is located near the Ohio river tucked away in the vibrant Columbia Tusculum neighborhood of Cincinnati.

Knuckles Italian Beef. FYI- since giardinara is not my cup of tea, the peppers are my own homemade sweet peppers.

Full disclosure: I LOVE a good Italian beef. Until moving to the Cincy area I had no idea how local to Chi-town they were. Nobody here seemed to have even heard of it. Ya try to explain it and people just don't get it. No, its not like a cheesesteak. It's soooo much better. You just need to have one done right to understand it. In the past 6 years I have tried every Italian beef I could find in the area. None of them were bad, but none had the right subtle nuances to be a really good beef. Knuckles has got it right!! It is hands down the best italian beef you can find in the cincy area. My wife tried the Italian chopped salad and really enjoyed it. I will be going back and would love to review their other sandwiches, but TBH, I know I'm gonna get a beef every time. Every. Time.

    Juicy beef, hot

We spent a few years in Chicago back in the early 2000s and returned to Cincinnati with an insatiable need for Italian beef.

I stopped by for a quick lunch during the week and wanted an easy to-go sandwich. They have a medium sized menu but a lot of different options which makes it a bit hard to pick haha! I decided on a reuben sandwich with all of the fixens inside. I was surprised that I was the only one in there because of the amount of rave reviews. It was a small quaint little place. The employees were suppperrrr nice and gave me a lot of time to think about my order. The vibes in there were very cool with fun music and just overall a good time. Now onto the Reuben. Holy cow! It was juicy and very flavorful, with the perfect amount of sauerkraut. The bread was toasty and the sandwich was nice and warm but not too hot. I think this will be a new spot for me for lunch!

Essentially for me I had waited too long to eat and the idea of waiting longer was a non starter for me. Sandwiches are not my go to food outside the house, it seems silly on some level. However, the sandwich I had was fantastic and well balanced. There was a good amount of everything without it being too much. Sometimes it's too much. This was great. They also had good, homemade or freshly made sides like potato salad and other salads you could get. It was great.

We came on a Saturday afternoon in between lunch & dinner (hoping to beat any rush) It's definitely busy but we lucked out. We ordered the pickle boat, tuna melt and smoked turkey to share. Hands down our favorite was the tuna melt. I've never had such dilly, Smokey tuna goodness on crispy rye bread. It's alittle pricey... but we get it small business. Lunch came to $59 We left fulfilled

It was good, but nothing crazy special and a bit pricy for the size in my opinion. My friend ordered the same but with half chicken salad, half egg salad--which I wish I did to try both! However, the worker who helped us (he started two weeks ago!) was exceedingly nice and helpful with recommendations. I think they're actually more known for their pickles (cool to see they also offer fermentation classes) so I'd be interested in trying their Pickle Boat and some cold salads next time. (Also wish my sandwich came with a pickle!) There is both interior and exterior patio seating and lots of pig-themed decor throughout the store. This wouldn't be a regular spot for me because of the price-to-portion size ratio, but I would be excited to come again to try more of their menu.
