Don't judge a book by its cover. The outside and even inside of this restaurant is suspect but the food is not. My friend and I SPLIT the Italian sub and we both had 1/2 of sub to eat later. Delicious fresh bun, plenty of meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato and banana peppers with Italian dressing. Came with Chips, I bought a bottle of water the entire lunch was $10. Stumbled upon this place looking for a quick lunch with some coworkers. The location is unassuming and really didn't know what to expect when we walked up. Once we got in, talked to the team, and learned more about the shop, it's clear why this has been a staple in the area. The portions are generous and the sandwiches were simple but quality. I got the club sandwich which honestly could have fed two people. The staff was great and my coworkers from out of town enjoyed the sports banter and local history the staff shared. We have ordered several times for office business lunches with people from out of town and the on-line ordering service is quick and easy. We ordered for 12 people and 1 hour and 15 minutes later we were able to get delivery. The sandwiches are piled high with toppings, very fresh, very good. Fries are amazing. Something for everyone. This place slaps. Got a Turkey and BLT (pictured) sandwich. Look at her, she's beautiful. They pile on the crispy bacon. It's a mountain of crunch. My bet is that the turkey is freshly sliced on location. The white bread is perfectly toasted so the sandwich maintains its integrity and holds together while you eat it. We got fries too which took awhile but were worth it. The seasoning on them is a nice touch. The prices can't be beat. The service was exactly what you want. This was my first time visiting this sandwich shop. It was super busy, but the staff worked hard to get everyone their orders. I had the BLT and a bowl of chili, and both were wonderful. My first time to Cincinnati, a coworker took me to J&W sandwich shop. It's a small, hole in the wall place but dang they make a good sandwich, and it's very reasonably priced. I got a roast beef and turkey sandwich, it was huge. There had to be a half pound of roast beef and a half pound of turkey on the sandwich. I was only able to eat the roast beef and two pieces of bread. I got this sandwich, chips, and a can of soda. My co worker got a sandwich and a bag of chips (no drink). Our total was under $16. Such a great value. As a former Jets fan, i appreciated seeing all of the memorabilia. After 20 years of heartbreak as a jets fan, i have gavup on them but i did enjoy seeing the memorabilia. read more

I'm still not sure this place is real... the sign is hand painted, the address is held on by scotch tape, the service rivals teleportation in terms of speed, the prices are affordable, and the food is delicious - none of that floppy bacon here. Crisp and delicious. Feels like a fever dream every time I go... one I'm eager to relive. Edited to add: I wrote this before looking at my previous review. With the double mention of teleportation I feel it's necessary to emphasize this place is just flat out magical. I made the mistake of getting a double decker and I could barely fit it in my mouth. I ate half of it for lunch and I'll eat the other half for dinner (and I am not a small meal gal). Its 2024 and I paid $14 for a double decker roast beef and bacon with egg, a pickle spear, chips, a can of soda, AND included a tip. That's $7 a meal folks. This is THE best deal around. read more

The hidden gem is located in a small business area surrounded by nieborhoods and doesn't look like much from the exterior but they have an incredibly strong following with many wonderful sandwiches and other items to choose from which are all over the top in not only size of portions but flavors and value. read more
