However the walls are thin and I could hear the conversion next door while trying to sleep; the sheets were terrible and rough. The food was salty. The gaming was atrocious. Wow, my wife and I had a great experience at Ko Kwel. We stayed for five days and enjoyed our stay. We had a room in the Tower with an excellent view. It started with Brandy who took our reservation. Extremely nice and gave us some great tips about the area. We were visiting for the first time. It was a total chill experience. Easy to go down the elevator and hit the casino. We went to a Billy Nation concert at the casino. They are a cover band for Billy Joel. The guy sounded better than Billy Joel! Ate at the Timber restaurant three times for breakfast and it was very good. Clean place. Pool is really nice and has two hot tubs. There is a walkway out the back door with a beautiful view of the water. I got my steps in walking down the promenade. Joe, the guy who maintains the lobby is a hell of a nice guy. Always had a "Hi Mike" to me and asked if I needed anything. Joe is extremely proud of his job and had nothing but good things to say about his employment there. 19 years and the guy is still happy going to work. That's the kind of stuff that makes me feel good about people. Great guy. Laura who works in housekeeping took care of us. She knows her job and isn't afraid to step in and help. Great work ethic. Our kids and their friends go to the Oregon Dunes to ride their Can-Ams and quads. We decided to leave our camper home and stay at Ko Kwel. So happy we did. read more

Too much $, it reeks of ancient cigarette smoke throughout the whole building. Towels are nasty polyester & just move water around, i could hear something like an old fridge buzzing all night long and people stomping upstairs. Stay elsewhere!! For this price I shouldn't see an exposed metal bedframe or hear it squeak when I roll over but there it is it all its cheapness. And parking! There's not enough. read more

As far as Indian casinos and lodging, this place was nice. Our river view room was not the greatest view but it was a view. The blinds were broken and it was a little dated but it served as a nice central location to our friends house for a few nights. We had fun in the casino. Clean but smoky! Restaurant was not great. Parking was easy. I've machines were broken so we were given bags of ice at the front desk. I thought it was a little spendy for what it was, but again.. it served it's purpose. read more

The room overlooking the bay on a full moon was magic. I stayed in the Lodge. Nice room. But the BEST part was the coffee shop! The fluffiest best donut I have EVER had! I never knew a maple bar could be so delicious. But wait there's more! The London Fog was absolutely perfect. Hot, flavorful, sweetened to perfection. The stay was highlighted by the flipping great service, delicious pastry, and the phenomenal London Fig. I will return for the pastry and tea. read more

I have been going here pretty regularly for 4 years. This past year, especially after September the machines have been adjusted down on winning percentage pretty noticeably. I routinely got hand pays and won/lost evenly. Not since September! Guess they have to pay for that expansion. Ha. The free play went from getting it every week to now every 2 weeks. Also the smoking has finally got to me. It's horrible. Will be going up to Chinook Winds for a smoke free environment and better odds for sure. read more

WiFi, WiFi, WiFi. This was our deal breaker. The WiFi here is bottom line terrible. It's terrible at the RV Park, inside the casino and restaurants. We've been traveling along the Oregon coast area for months and this was our worst WiFi connection yet. And, Why? It's not a family owned park where this would be too expensive to add.... It's a casino. They make a lot of money on most days. It SHOULD have great WiFi for its casino and RV guests. We asked a server in a restaurant about the WiFi and she said it's terrible all over the property. Now, the positives. The RV park had the best staff. The grey haired woman at checkin was so nice every time we saw her. The property is clean, no long term occupants, good view of the bay, and spots had a lot of space. Overall, I rate the RV park a 4 out of 5, but because of Wi-Fi I'll say 3. The casino has SO much smoke. I let three different people at the RV park and all mentioned how much smoke lingers in the air inside. We are from Nevada so we know a smoky casino... this one was like alit had a 70's ventilation system. The casino staff were great. Everyone was happy, helpful, and seemed to like their jobs. The food was just okay. Nothing was great. We are in the sports place three times and then went to town for the rest of our trip if we went out. We stayed here 7 nights. Not a bad hotel casino combo. Definitely one of the nicest stays in coos bay. The staff are friendly, the rooms are fairly clean and you get free bottled water. I do wish the casino area was a bit further from the hotel lobby as there is plenty of smoking but that's just me. Beautiful boardwalk surrounds building. Pool and hot tub. Not many channels, no coffee in room but there is some downstairs every morning. Definitely like it here but there is not wow factors that warrants a better rating. Writing this regarding the RV Park. I had booked this site over a month in advance for a trip up the coast my husband and I were taking for my 30th birthday. Coming all the way from San Diego in our newly converted van, we were super excited to stop here for the night. It looked incredible between the amenities and the location. After a long day of driving from the Eureka area, we arrived, and I went to check in. The lady checking us in was confirming the information we had already provided and got to the point of confirming the camper style. When I mentioned that we were in a van, the tone of the interaction switched. She was very quick to let me know that they only allow self-contained campers and asked if we had a bathroom in our van. I said no, and mentioned that wasn't apparent to me on their website, I am sure to check as I know many places aren't camper van friendly. She proceeded to turn us away, despite their park being less than half full, having onsite bathroom facilities, and a customer who was there willing to pay, and able to plug into a site just like the next camper. I highly recommend the business either make it clear that vans are not welcome, or better yet, be welcoming to camper vans. There's a HUGE group of us, and you're closing yourself off to a really key market. This was super disappointing and we felt very patronized. read more

We stayed here for one night while passing through. First of all, I want to thank Kathy who was very helpful when we checked out in the morning. I really appreciate all she did and very pleasant person to interact with. The hotel, I think, is a little over priced for what it is and the area. It's still a nice place though. One thing I thought was strange is there's a lot of things showing and saying how the Coquill Indians are welcoming us to staying at their hotel and casino and how we're their friends and all that, but then in the room there's a painting of an Indian that's got his war attire on and and spear in hand in a charge position like he's going to charge and kill us. Find a different painting to put in the room. Or nothing at all. That was a little off. We're still very happy overall and will stop by again when traveling the coast here. read more

This review focuses on the hotel. For openers, I admit, our room is one of their "less expensive" rooms. One with a ground view of the handicap area of the parking lot. The room has a desk chair, another more comfy chair, two queen beds, a moderate dresser underneath the flat screen, a narrow entryway and narrow space between the beds and dresser & desk. And, no coffee maker. To be fair, there is a large pumper pot of free coffee (not decaf) in the lobby. Getting to and from the lobby requires getting dressed, and a round trip walk about the length of a football field. The shower is a nice 1970 or so vintage shower, the A/C and heat unit is through the wall, rather than centralized. The controlling thermostat is in the thru-wall unit and you can choose heat, cool, or fan only. You can't choose a setting that maintains temperature at a fixed setting, regardless of the ambient temperature. The desk staff has been helpful. The hotel's full service diner style restaurant isn't open until 11:00 AM. So, if you'd like breakfast, it's a counter order situation slightly better than Burger King, except that live people can take your order while you stand at the counter. FYI, This is not my idea of a nice breakfast at a nice hotel. . . . This hotel does focus on being a casino resort. One might think that rooms would be inexpensive so that they could draw in guests (and gamblers) for a nice stay. . . This hotel (a mid-week stay) is averaging me $250/night. No other hotel in the region approaches this amount. I'm here this time "just because". The best part of the hotel is the bar, 'cause it helps you to forget the rest. Opening the restaurant offering table service earlier, installing more modern thru-wall heat pump units, improving in-room lighting, and modernizing the bathrooms would make for significant improvement. read more

My friend was visiting from New York, and I wanted to show her the beauty of the Oregon coast. So we came up for a night. Check-in was easy and everybody was friendly and helpful. We had a handicapped accessible room on the fourth floor The room, and the bathroom was very large, and my partner really liked the walk in shower. There were also great views from our room. There was a fridge, but no microwave. The TV had lots of channels and got a good picture. The casino is large, with both slots and table games. My friend had a fun time playing. She earned enough points to buy a couple of small things in the gift shop the next morning. The food was good. We had dinner at warehouse 101, , and in the morning, we ordered breakfast from the plank house. The casino does not offer room service, but you can call down to the restaurant and it will be waiting for you when you get there. It was packed well and still warm when it got to the room. The plank house also had a beautiful view. Three small things that I am taking away a star. First of all, it is a smoking casino, and they only have a very small non-smoking area in a corner of the casino. Naturally, the smoke still get into the non-smoking area. The bed was OK, but it was a bit firm for our personal taste. We still got a good nights sleep. Finally, the room thermostat is an old-fashioned thermostat, and it was very hard to get it to just the right temperature. I know it's an older property, but they really should replace the thermostat to a digital. Other than that, we had a good time. We would come back. read more

I really enjoyed my stay here. I was visiting for over a week for The Mill High Tide Tattoo Festival at the end of April. Everyone at the front desk was very helpful and knowledgeable. The employees at all the restaurants were very attentive and shared great recommendations for things to do around town, especially Mari at The Plank House. The tattoo festival was also one of my favorites. It was very well run. Melanie and Andrew were amazing. We are definitely returning next year. The casino was very well lit and even though there are smoking sections the ventilation is pretty good, since you could barely smell any smoke. There is a small non- smoking section if you are interested. The food at the restaurants was very good. I was also told they bake their bread in house. There was not a place I tried where we had an issue or didn't like the food. The rooms were very spacious, we stayed on the top floor and had a room overlooking the bay. It seems the rooms were recently renovated. Even though it is pet-friendly, the hotel was really clean and well maintained. read more

We've been here for a couple days and we've stayed here for more than a week before. Today we were told we could no longer stay. I mentioned off hand that we were going to have our shower looked at when I registered. Today we were told that the manager was kicking us out because we didn't have a working hot water heater. So, you can only camp and use the amenities if you don't NEED the amenities. They also said it looked bad because we have a bay door that has to stay cracked open to accommodate the electrical cord. My husband and our two dogs were recent guests at the Coos Bay location and we cannot say how much we enjoyed the stay. The staff were super friendly and always had a smile on their face and willing to help out. The prices from the room to the food we way less than we expected and fit our budget. Very nice city-type campground on the bay. All roads paved; conveniently placed utilities; good water pressure. We had a 45' back-in with 30 amp and full hook-ups. Site was big enough for 31' travel trailer with slide and still open awning. Very reasonably priced (unless you visit casino - very tight slots ) Easy Check-in and out with friendly service. I don't typically leave reviews for RV parks but this one is worth writing. We traveled from Eastern Montana to Coos Bay specifically to stay at The Mill RV park. We have been here for almost a week and we have enjoyed some time in the casino, ordered plenty of food and drinks from the Timbers Cafe, and we enjoyed every moment of it. But this morning we came into the RV club house to purchase another night to stay at the park. We were informed that our motorhome "doesn't match their NEW guidelines." We were told that, "the park is looking for "newer" types of motorhomes and not any older ones." We have a fully restored 1978 Winnebago, a small 20 ft. rig. When I asked the clubhouse what the age cut off was, she said "well I don't think it's age, but we don't want any campers here with rust." I then responded that the motorhome is fully rebuilt with new parts and there is no rust on the motorhome, escept for a little bit on the rims of the wheels, and the back bumper, which is new due to the salt placed on Montana roads in the winter, rust that will be cleared from the motorhome when its not a rainy season. She proceeded to tell me that it was age, so I asked when the age cut off was and she referred back to the rust. Also not telling us what year was the cutoff for their park. The Mill Resort & RV Park then asked us to leave, informing us we are not able to stay for another night due to "age and rust", and said that "the manager in the back is working on the new policy and cannot speak to us". So this is a brand new policy as of last night. We were never informed of this on any of the previous night we stayed here and there are no guidelines anywhere on their website or any pamphlet of this RV park and resort that mention rust or age on campers. Mind you, our motorhome has been fully rebuilt in the last couple of years. If you have any campers that aren't brand new and straight off a lot, I wouldn't stay here. The RV park aparentally can make up brand new policies and then tell you to leave whenever they like if your camper doesn't look the way they want it to. We will never be staying at this RV park, eating at any restaurant here, nor will we ever spend money in this casino again. I would be careful if you stay here, they might make up new policies and kick you out whenever they feel like it. **Update** We spoke to management and they were told that aparentally it was a piece of tape on a broken door (which was there because it broke at this specific rv park), and due to paint chips, which aren't a thing. So which is it? Rust, paint chips, tape, or motorhome age? Also, the establishment did nothing to make it right, told us that we can file a complaint and they would call us later with more information once they "learned more about the new policy."" ‼‼ Also, if you are disabled or ADA, this park is NOT for you. My mother is disabled, and due to the lack of due process, it feels this is discrimination towards disabled people. Also, the management refused to speak to us at the RV park and the hotel, and they only let us speak to security, not anyone in truly charge ‼‼ The management and security also mentioned they have never heard of this new policy before. **I added photos of our camper below for reference** read more

Contrary to some of the other reviews. My stay here with a child was actually really nice. Rooms were clean and updated. Bathroom was large and looked recently remodeled. I had to go into the casino with my small child and wasn't followed or harassed by security at all. They actually opened doors for me and were nice. All the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Honestly some of The best service I've received at hotel. This place was really convenient, as we were visiting family and needed to stop for one night to rest. I didn't check out the pool as we hadn't packed any swim stuff. I would stay there again. Minimal vegan options at all the restaurants, mainly sides. I was able to get an oatmilk latte in the morning at the cafe in the casino, and the barista made it really well. I will say I gave 4 stars because the casino smelled like cigarettes but that's what comes with a place that allows indoor smoking. read more

In all fairness we were here for a hotel room in a pinch and not the casino, but for those of you concerned about second hand smoke and a general foulness of aroma, it's best to avoid The Mill. The entire hotel smells like cigarette smoke, including the rooms, and it's important to note that we were on the second floor! Off putting at best, and to add an additional layer of criticism, the rooms were incredibly small, and there was no coffee maker in the room. We own a hotel in Oregon and the most important thing is to make sure there is coffee and a coffee maker available for guests in their room. Horrible service. Checking in the young kid was not friendly at all. I asked a question due to never being here before and he rolled his eyes. The nice restaurant was closed, because people do t travel on Tuesdays! so we ate at Warehouse 101. The waitress was slow, finally placed our order. In the meantime 4 more tables came in and placed their orders at least 20-30 minutes after ours. All their foods came out and they were way into their meals before ours ever did. Waitress never checked back with us, asked us if we would like another drink or anything. I finally had to wave her down to get the bill. The rooms are spacious, but can hear the people above you walk and go the bathroom. Person next to us had their TV full volume, could hear through the walls. read more

You close when? The last time I was here I was at the hotel but it's been so long that I don't think it would be fair to comment on the Hotel. So this review will cover the casino only. The casino is open 24 hours but that's a little deceiving to an extent. The casino slot floor is open 24 hours but the table games are only open for a limited time. Compared to all the casinos I've been to in San Diego alone (I know you read the reviews) this is disappointing. There's only one PIT with six carnival games to go with the one crap and one roulette table. The PIT opens at 3pm and closes sometime past 1am. And if there isn't enough dealers you may not get your game at all. They have one family restaurant outside the casino and one inside. The one inside closes past midnight but there is an unlimited beverage station for anyone to use. Overall it's a small place but the it works for the population here. Reason it's getting 2 stars vs 1... Easy check in, and clean. We stayed in the tower "deluxe" king. We were told it had no views prior to check in. In this room you have a tiny patio that is completely enclosed with a concrete wall, thus making the room very dark! All the other reasons for low rating, again dark, lacking in the decor arena, all furniture very dark in color, could use an update. Bed was like sleeping in the floor, so if you like a hard bed you're in luck. WiFi was horrible!! No coffee in room, have to go downstairs to get it. The reason for the stay was for work, we asked for a late check out because of our meeting, they gave us half hour(11:30 am) if longer they charge you $50 per half hour !!! At 11:05 I left my room to get ice, walked back and my door was locked wouldn't open with key, staff was standing there watching me and told me I had to go downstairs to get permission, after they had already granted me "late" checkout... all rooms automatically key reset at 11... no one tells you this...totally cluster... At a rate of $300ish, won't be looking to visit again. read more
