This place is incredibly half assed, but that's also kind of it's charm. Staff is non existent outside of the hours at the store, they don't seem to care how many cars/vehicles/people are at your site, security is a joke, but as long as you're cool they don't seem to care it was pretty peaceful for my stay. The "wreck" center was exactly that, a wreck, some kids ruined the one working TV, and the games were askew, luckily the feral children left the giant chess set alone, as it probably confused them. I wouldn't buy anything from the store, as most things were expired, overpriced or both. Showers there were a joke, two of them worked, restrooms went days without cleaning, but they did hand out tokens for the showers no questions asked. It's main charm is it's proximity to the dunes, ease of access, and it's super easy to park. Might return next year, might go to the other campground to the south, it was 75 a night for me and my toy hauler with full hookups. read more

Beware - this place has different cancellation policies than all other KOAs. Don't book if you might have to cancel. They will keep all your money even if you cancel weeks ahead and tell you they'll refund. I wasted nearly $100 here - leaving this in hopes the next person doesn't get tricked. read more

First off, I am not a fan of RV parks and prefer national forrest or state parks. However, on a recent trip we thought we might like something different and this was close to an activity we thought we'd try. The sites were adequate but almost no privacy. The electricity, sewer and water were all at weird places that made hooking up challenging. All in all the park looked grim with almost no grass, shrubbery or natural beauty aside from some anemic looking trees. At 70 a night it was twice what Oregon State parks are for full hookups in stunning scenery. Those are the negatives. The positives are if you are a dune buggy rider with kids this may be the place for you! From a nice jump pad to "train rides" to a mini-dune course for kids there were lots of activities for the kids. I don't think the paddle boats or the zip line were operational but didn't ask. The staff were lovely and helpful. We knew shortly after arriving we would not be staying the full length of our reservation. They were very cheerful and gave us a complete refund for the unused nights. If you are going to a place to ride the dunes and don't particularly care about the aesthetics of where you are camping this could easily fit the bill. read more

All we can say is WOW!! We brought a group of our friend to Oregon to go side by side riding. After a lot of research we stayed at the Oregon Dune KOA Holiday Campground. It was perfect for us. Some of us brought our SXS and some of us rented from Steve's ATV which was right next door to the campground. Super convenient and everyone was so helpful and friendly. There were 16 of us so we rented several different types of accommodations. They had many different choices to choose from. Several of the couples rented the cabins and loved them, another member rented the caboose which was really cute and set up very nice. Being we had a big group we also rented the big house which was perfect for our group gatherings. It has a huge porch with tables and chairs, a big living room and kitchen and a nice back yard with a BBQ and fire pit. It worked out perfect so we could all hang out together and share our stories of how much fun we had riding in the dunes and over by the coast and then road through town to a Café for lunch. We could not have asked for anything better. They offered so many things to do when we weren't riding. They had axe throwing, zip lining, a game room, playground and jumpy pad and more. The staff at the campground was sooooo friendly and their store is well stocked, they had everything we needed. We will defiantly be back. Campers Beware! My husband and I traveled 4 hours from WA to this Oregon KOA site expecting a peaceful time and an amazing experience at the sand dunes. Instead, our vacation turned into a nightmare. Shortly after we encamped at our reserved spot, our rude, drunken neighbor informed us that we were on "his property" (as if he owned it) so we moved our belongings to the next spot over. I walked to the office to verify our neighbor's claim and was told that he was wrong and to move back to our assigned spot. The office manager also told me to relay this information to our neighbor and if he had any questions, he should talk to management. This is where our trouble began. After I relayed KOA's instructions to our inebriated neighbor, he became verbally aggressive and then assaulted me. My husband and I then called 911 and the Sheriff and a deputy had to come out to de-escalate the situation. Needless to say, I was scared to death, my husband and I stayed up all night fearful of this violent man, and quickly left early the next morning. In retrospect, a KOA security staff member; not me, should have informed our neighbor that we were in the correct space and to leave us alone. A police officer had to come out to do this job. What turned out to be a bad experience could have turned out much worse. I will say that although the staff was nice, they were clueless. It's protocol for the staff to direct their guests to their campsite to avoid any confusion. Hopefully, our experience will serve as a learning lesson to the KOA staff and its owner. One more word of caution, as other reviewers pointed out, the campsite was loud and very dirty and dusty (without a patch of grass to be found). It felt like we were camping in a parking lot. Also, it was more of a RV/Monster Truck/ATV Park, if you know what I mean. Not a family-friendly place, considering the copious amount of drinking and bad behavior. To top it all off, the manager of the KOA refused to refund us the $125 we paid for our stay. Unbelievable! read more

Been coming here for 4 years like clockwork. Multiple times per year with a group of over 40 people & 10+ Rigs. Hasn't been to bad until this time. My wife and I have Received TERRIBLE service with MAJOR ATTITUDE from Lynzee!!!!!! Our water went out in our Motorhome so we wanted to OBVIOUSLY use the Showers at the KOA just like we did earlier in the week at the Medford KOA. UNFORTUNATELY Lynzee gave my Wife a very hard time with MAJOR attitude about it!! So if you were camping in a Tent or staying in there cabins you could use the showers..... but if you had an RV space you couldn't use the showers..... We have Two Autistic children with us, what are we supposed to do not give them showers for the 5 days we are here?????? This is the Second time someone at this KOA has made our stay unpleasant!!! My Group and I will be looking for other places to stay that appreciate our Money!!!!!! read more

Rats and space heaters. We stayed at this KOA for our 2021-2022 New Years group trip. Day 1: The office called early on our day of arrival. They took a payment over the phone as they were not open in the evening and would need to leave our key in the drop box. Easy enough, we paid and picked up our key that night and made our way to the Lena lodge. This hit our bank at a little under $1500. The lena lodge was freezing cold upon arrival we get it save some money while not in use right? In this case it was so cold because the central heating and air was broken. We found TWO SMALL SPACE HEATERS placed inside for our stay. Are you kidding me? 1. It would of been nice to know this when they called to take our payment ahead of time. 2. If they knew we would be dealing with small space heaters they could of been nice enough to turn them on ahead of time. We had to turn on all four stovetop burners, the oven and two space heaters to get the house to a bearable temperature. After a 10 hour drive this was less than ideal. While "enjoying" our cabin sitting separately on the couch from my husband as we both are fully dressed in our outdoor weather gear and boots in our freezing lodge out of the corner of my eye I see a HUGE RAT at the front door looking right in at us. I looked at my husband and im so disappointed at this point, I tell him I can handle rats outside but rats and no heating is just a horrible way to start our vacation. Day 2: We make our way to the office to inquire about or cabin and other alternatives. The staff inside is less than accommodating with any other resolutions other than 1. Giving us TWO MORE SPACE HEATERS, we now have four space heaters in our cabin. 2. upgrading to the grand lodge cabin for "$600 more" So the obvious choice is we give the third and fourth space heaters a try and we sleep in the top section of the cabin because well heat rises right? So much thought on how to make our stay bearable has gone on in our first 24 hours of staying here. The staff is so self righteous the whole time as they are solid on the fact they gave us these small heaters so they have made our trip as it should be. Sorry guys but you dropped the ball on this one. I know you wanted to reel in the money for this cabin but you should of shut it down until your maintenance team fixed the problem! Day 3: My husband is irritated, were sleeping at the top of this cabin which is the kids section the ceiling has to be no taller than 4 feet. we have three space heaters blasting on the main floor below us and one in the bathroom with the door shut so were not peeing and showering in 30-40 degree weather. We again reach out to the front desk and inquire on the Grand lodge cabin they say no one is staying in it during our stay and we could pay to move over. The lady on day two had mentioned the same thing "pay more" "pay more". Well you guessed it we "paid more" way more to move into a cabin with working heating and air. As originally quoted $600 more turned out to be $600 A DAY more and when we got our statement for ANOTHER ALMOST $2000 we knew then and there we would be staying somewhere else for our yearly new year group trip to Coos Bay. We asked to talk to someone (owner/ manager) but the front desk girls informed us they are privately owned and there was nothing we can do and no one to hear our review of our stay. I called today to give them one last chance to just talk to someone who was not a front desk worker and the girl told me YELP was my only option. So here I am giving everyone a fair chance at knowing what your getting into with the ladies that run this establishment. They don't care just "pay more" $3374.84 to be exact. Side Note: smooth the private road into your camp it's full of holes. read more

While passing through Oregon, we stayed here in a cabin (or Kabins, as they call them) to visit the grandkids while they're camping here. My only complaint about the cabin is the mattress is so bad, that one thing alone will prevent me from coming back. Next time we will get a hotel in town. Other than that, it's a nice place to camp at. The kids have been coming here for years with their motorcycles and they love it. read more

Disappointing. The very long road leading up to the campground is muddy and full of large potholes, mimicking an earthquake in your RV. The roads on the campground are also muddy. Additionally you will only get one access to their wifi and an additional access will cost you $10 even if it's only for one night. There is a way around this though, connect your smart phone to this wifi and turn on your hotspot on your phone. Now everyone can use their wifi via your hotspot connection. Lastly, if you bought wood at a previous KOA, you're not allowed to use it. A sign says you need to buy from them for $6. read more

After-hours check in allowed the 6 of us access to the cabin. However not a single shower token was left for us with our key. The only staff at the campground was a 3rd party security guard that basically told us "tough luck" This was poor customer service on KOA's part not having planned for 6 of their customers the ability to shower after a day of riding/hiking/sweating all day. I have a major concern with how they ration guest services. I have never been to a KOA where you are limited to 1 shower per stay. Kids who get muddy or spill something on themselves and you want to clean them up again, nope. Elderly and have an accident and want to freshen up, nope do you like to exercise in the am and want to shower before the day and then have a shower before bed, nope. You should really re-examine how you want to spend you time here as to ensure you only use your 1 token per person per day. This is absurd and isn't realistic for an adventure park riding trails and playing in the ocean. This is a first for me. What an absolute joke! read more

Rented a cabin with bathroom and kitchen. The cabin set us apart from most of the noise. The cabin was clean and well prepared. It had towels blankets kitchen implements and chairs on the porch. We were very happy with the cabin and service. read more

But keep in mind you can ride your quad straight to the dunes - very very windy - only 2 standard washers in the laundry room or 2 high capacity - limited 50 amp hook ups For the price I'm definitely coming back. read more

So our trip started with them giving us the wrong cabin. I reserved a cabin back in November that had bathrooms. My family and I get here in June and they inform us that we have a cabin with no bathrooms. We were upset but we just accepted it and moved on. Around 7pm we walked over to the showers to find out that they close those at 6pm. The hours of the showers are 9 to 6pm. Basically after riding the dunes all day and getting dirty, you have to sleep that way because you will not be able to take a shower. Again, we do not have a bathroom in our cabin. My daughter had to use the bathroom the following day and the rude ladies were in there cleaning and would not let my daughter in. She had to come back to the cabin and urinate outside because it was either that or peeing her pants. Final day here, we go to the showers at 9:30am like they have asked only to find out that they are going to turn off the water for another 30 minutes! I feel like my family and I have had to BEG to take showers here. Definitely do not STAY here if you do not have a toy hauler, trailer, or cabin with a bathroom. These people do not care about customer service. They just want your money. We will stay at a different place next time. We will never come here again! read more

We were kept up half the night by flag-flying Trumpsters who drank, whooped, hollered and played loud music until midnight with no enforcement of 10 pm quiet-time curfew from management. Showers were only available for cabin renters. ?!! And they would not provide a refund when we told them we weren't staying a second night. read more

Clean facilities, recreation room with foos ball, table tennis, large Jenga, connect 4 games. Camp sites with for all types of camping. Big boys to tents they have it. Even wagons and caboose's to rent. Large kids jump area and toy areas. A lake is near by for non power boating and fishing. Direct access to the beach and dunes without having to go across the highway. Friendly staff and lots of security to make sure the stay is perfect. read more

The campground always has the cleanest facilities and the friendliest staff.... seems like coming home for us here at dunes! The store is always well stocked even during this time period. Hard to leave! Highly recommend for family get away! I read other reviews and want to add that we have been coming here for almost 8 years. Never once did we have any problems. We have always had our reservations exactly as promised. Next to our group (because we call directly and set it up weeks in advance; confirmed and set)....Wi-Fi included and never used it because we have our own hot spot... manager was very nice and accommodating... so I think others have problems if they call the national 800 number. We recommend calling the local number as we do! Always done correctly and fits our need. And I had dropped my phone... unaware I dropped in in the driveway, the staff found it. They went xtra mile and tracked me down.... great job and Thank You!! read more

We are actually staying here now. We are 1 night in, and my back is killing me. We rented a cabin and their mattresses are necessarily utilitarian for the sake of keeping things clean. Thin and plastic covered. I get it. However I literally can't sleep on them either. The amenities seem really good, the staff has been friendly and helpful, the cabin we checked into was clean, but if I don't figure something out with this matress I'm going to be miserable by the end of the week. One of the employees said their boss (I'm assuming the owner?) checks YELP constantly, so considering I have little else to do this early in the morning, I'll put that to the test. This is the kind of issue the people running the place should address anyways, not the girl working a summer job. Well 4 nights later and we were able to fix the issue with the beds ourselves by unrolling extra sleeping bags to sleep on top of. All in all it has been a good stay, just keep in mind that their beds are NOT comfortable in the cabins and you'll have to do something about that yourself. I'd bump the rating up to 4 stars if it weren't for the fact that sleeping at a KOA is kind of a big deal, and when that's not good, the rest doesn't matter. If you're bringing your RV to sleep in though there shouldn't be much of any issue at all, except for loud neighbors driving in on their dune buggies until midnight, and the traffic from HWY 101. read more

We were very disappointed in this place. It looked nice and the bathrooms were clean. But we were only given one opportunity to shower each day. One token per person. We have stayed at boxcar and can shower as much as possible with quarters. Then the showers koa had were worthless. They had 5 total. They are supposed to last 8 minutes. 1 lasted two minutes and I had shampoo in my hair when it ended. Another one had only two streams of water coming out of the faucet. Another shower had a fan that squealed so loud that it hurt your ears. The bathrooms ran out of towels a whole day. Then we only got one free device for wifi and had to pay $10 for each additional device to connect. So we paid for two more. But found out the wifi didn't work at our site at all. And we weren't able to get a refund even though we couldn't ever get it to work. Some of the staff were rude. I will be going to Boxcar from now on. read more

We stayed two nights here in our class A with Jeep in tow. It is located very close to the Dunes with ATV rentals on site by Steve's ATV. Lots of campers bring their ATVs here and ride up to their sites. Even though they rode into the night hours, they were all very respectful and rode at idle speeds up to their sites. We went to Steve's ATV and rented a RZR 4 for my wife, son, and myself. Went off to the dunes and then found the path to the beach. It was a blast! Will come back again. Next time, I'll remember to bring my shop vac to vacuum up all the sand! read more

Mostly revising this for big rigs towing. We're 45' rowing a 30' trailer. This park was easy to get around. As a larger rig it's nice to know what places truly work to get in and out of and this place did. Quiet hours were respected, it's open and sandy which is to be expected. read more

We had a great vacation and loved this place. Wish there was less asphalt and more sand for the quad with paddles when riding to the dunes. But the good thing about it being a ways away from the dunes was the quietness. Very clean and friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be back next year! Might even try one of the cabins for the family without a toy hauler. So far the Oregon dunes is our favorite place to ride! read more

Definitely the worst managed campground I've ever been to. The place is in serious need of competent management. The female manager initially accused us of lying about a truck with firewood in it. Despite making reservations several months out, we didn't get what we were promised including 50 amp hook ups and having our group together. We were forced to site hop during our stay and could never get a clear reason why because the manager's story kept changing. Basically bribed her to get our site hops changed to at least have us on the same side of the park. Also paid extra for stranger's reservation to upgrade them so we could be together AND THEN THAT OTHER SITE STAYED VACANT! Internet is $10 per person but their system doesn't have the bandwidth to support the campground so it doesn't work. Washers and dryers are limited and pricey. I've been to a lot of campgrounds and this is by far the worst. KOA did their best to take fun and convenience out of our visit. Our group won't be back. read more

On July 13th and 14th my girlfriend and I stayed at Oregon Dunes KOA in one of their new Covered Wagons and it was awesome. We would definitely do it again. We were driving the PCH and looking for a place to tent for the night. We stopped here on a whim. Due to the busy season and my lack of planning they didn't have any tent sites available, but we lucked out. They had one of their "Wagons" available, and we were thrilled to stay in it. It is a new Covered Wagon with a very comfortable king size bed and bunk bed. It was nicer than many hotel rooms I have stayed in. Inside the wagon there was electricity, a mini fridge, coffee maker, and Microwave. Outside the Wagon was a great little patio area with a dedicated picnic table and fire pit. Not only was the Wagon awesome but the campground is very nice too with clean bathrooms and showers, a great camper's kitchen with several sinks and electric burners, a little food cart, and a cool bounce pad and playscape for kids. We were only planning on staying 1 night but slept so well and enjoyed it so much we decided to stay a second night and go rent ATVs next door (at Steve's ATV) and go rip around the dunes(also a great experience). I highly recommend this campground and a stay in their covered Wagon near the end of the Oregon Trail. read more

We had reservations to stay at this KOA and unfortunately we were in contact with someone who had tested positive for COVID-19 and were informed by our local health department that we needed to self-quarantine. We called KOA immediately (12 days before we were to arrive and their policy is 14 days) and explained the situation to them so that we could get our deposit refunded. They REFUSED to refund us our deposit. To top it off, we know for a FACT that the site we reserved was reserved by a friend of ours. These are unprecedented times and you would think a DECENT human being would do the right thing and issue the refund since the cancellation was beyond our control. Moral of the story, apparently the owners of this KOA could care less about people and events that may occur that are beyond their control and just care about taking your money! read more

My husband, son and I stayed here for 5 nights. The grounds are well kept, tended to constantly, and surrounded by trees. We were in a tent and the spot was nice and shaded. The playground was well kept although we didn't use it. I did use the kamp kitchen to do some dishes and it was very clean. The only problem I had was the no see ums. They ate me alive and they don't care about bug spray. Next time I'll do my research as to what keeps them away. The dunes are a little far access wise but not bad as we rolled over to them on our 4-wheelers no problem. All in all I'd stay again. read more

My first time at the dunes a couple weekends ago and not only were the staff friendly and very helpful but so were the folks on the dunes! We had a great time staying at the KOA. In fact, we had such a great time that we planned another trip for summer 2021. The staff was friendly and helpful on the phone for making reservations, but hard to get ahold of at times. They don't return emails nor phone messages (those are the only negatives about the experience and the reason for a 4 out of 5 stars). I see people complaining about the off-road activity and noise. Sure, it is there at times as people come and go, but it isn't constant and quiet time begins at 10:00 PM. The campground is safe and is patrolled by security who is very friendly. We were in the overflow area which is still patrolled by security and he politely asked us to keep it down after 10:00 one night because we were hanging out until almost midnight. Being mindful of others, we toned it down and continued to have a great time. Steve's ATV shop is handy to have close by if you need any parts or supplies, riding gear, safety equipment, riding licenses, etc. I highly recommend this place and wish people would give it honest reviews instead of closed minded, personal attacks. Camp here with confidence of having a good time. It's beautiful, quiet, close to recreation activities as well as close to modern conveniences while still being a scenic getaway. Where else can you go to enjoy the great outdoors with such a diverse landscape : sand dunes, ocean water and beaches, fresh water lakes, riding trails, pine trees, coastal wetlands with local wildlife (we saw beaver, deer, thousands of birds, did some local fishing). First time there in March. Weather was perfect for Southern Oregon. Sunny and warm for the majority of the week only had two days of rain. The campsite was nice and clean and secure. The sites are large enough to keep your ATV's and gear outside. The camp hosts were friendly and the staff in the store were great. You can ride to the dunes from camp, we took our ATVs out every day. The dunes are fantastic- loved going in and out of the trees and back onto the sand. Lots of fun! Don't forget to watch the sunset on top of the dunes it was amazing! We will be back next year. read more

We have been staying here every year and this year will be our last due to very poor customer service. They have several upgrades that are nice. Our kids loved the giant bounce platform and I noticed the bathrooms were refinished. This was all for not however as the staff (most not all) was not helpful. We couldn't get shower tokens for most of the day because the only employee there said she cant leave the store to get more. She was extremely defensive when I asked what the policy was for quiet hours. I advised we had neighbors who were partying until 3 and 4 in the morning. She (red/brown hair) advised I needed to deal with it myself and it was not her problem. Really? Thats the official KOA answer? There was a very helpful man working there but he was hard to find and seemed like he was only part time. Overall we love the location and facilities but wont be coming back. I advised we were leaving early due to the inability to sleep and the employee (same one) said, and I quote..."well I hope you don't expect to get out of paying for the nights you didn't use just cause you cant handle noise". No apology. No concern. Just rude and defensive. read more

This Place isn't even worth one star to me and we haven't even stayed there. We made reservations for Memorial Weekend and when I made them I asked specifically what their cancelation policy was because my husband's work schedule was so unpredictable. I was told by the girl on the phone that if we called a week in advance that we could cancel with full refund. Well of course we ended up having to cancel. I called a week in advance and some woman (ill keep my true feelings about her to myself) who said she manages the place refused to refund us our deposit because she said that we didn't give them 30 days notice. When I explained to her that that was not what we were told, she just kept going back to "that's the policy on the email confirmation that was mailed to you" . This woman was willing to do NOTHING to help resolve the situation in any way shape or form so I decided to call their corporate office. Got nowhere with them either. At NO POINT did anyone from this company try to resolve my complaint. The worst customer service I have encountered in a long long time. This was the very first reservation we ever made with a KOA and it will be our LAST. Thanks "Manager" of this KOA. Your doing an outstanding job. If I was your Boss, I would fire your ass. read more

The best thing about this KOA campground is the location - it is right beside the sand dunes. Many campers even drove their ATV's to their camp sites. There is also an ATV rental store very close to the KOA office,so you could literally walk down to rent out your vehicles. We rented a 2 bedroom cabin-it was nice and clean like all other KOA ones. But coming to my biggest complaint - each guest gets only one coin for a bath per day.Yes,just one and you cannot buy or beg for another one;) And the water flow stops after 12 minutes. This is great and I would love to conserve water. But on a hot sunny after being in the sand dunes and beach for hours,I'd love to freshen up even if they cut off the water after 6 minutes. They told us that this restriction is only in this koa as they had a lot of outsiders coming here to take a free bath-so I understand,but hope they come up with something better. And also carry your own drinking water-they dont sell water and the water fountain is broken. read more

This was our 8th year at this KOA! As in the years past, we are leaving happy customers. The staff make you feel like you are home! The sites are large enough to accommodate our 35 ft motorhome, trailer, 4 ATV's and still room to play corn hole! The buildings, laundry room, bathrooms and showers are clean and well maintained. The KOA is both kid and pet friendly. They now have paddle boat rentals on the lake, ice cream socials and free hay rides! We would still choose this place to camp if we did not have ATV's. What was a wonderful trip turned sour the day after we departed. We got a phone call from them the day after we got home accusing us of damaging the cabin we were in and stealing a picture. Then they billed us $500. We have no recourse. There was no check sheet to go over like when you rent a car. We cannot prove anything. I can't be more upset about this. We are not thieves. I will never stay at any other KOA's as long as I live and I will tell all my acquaintances my experience as well. This is all I can do. I hope other vacationers don't get robbed like we did. What's even more disappointing is that we really enjoyed our stay there. We had even bought a membership and talked about returning in the years to come. We tried to settle the issue and explain our side during the phone call......but we got hung up on. Twice! read more
