All we can say is WOW!! We brought a group of our friend to Oregon to go side by side riding. After a lot of research we stayed at the Oregon Dune KOA Holiday Campground. It was perfect for us. Some of us brought our SXS and some of us rented from Steve's ATV which was right next door to the campground. Super convenient and everyone was so helpful and friendly. There were 16 of us so we rented several different types of accommodations. They had many different choices to choose from. Several of the couples rented the cabins and loved them, another member rented the caboose which was really cute and set up very nice. Being we had a big group we also rented the big house which was perfect for our group gatherings. It has a huge porch with tables and chairs, a big living room and kitchen and a nice back yard with a BBQ and fire pit. It worked out perfect so we could all hang out together and share our stories of how much fun we had riding in the dunes and over by the coast and then road through town to a Café for lunch. We could not have asked for anything better. They offered so many things to do when we weren't riding. They had axe throwing, zip lining, a game room, playground and jumpy pad and more. The staff at the campground was sooooo friendly and their store is well stocked, they had everything we needed. We will defiantly be back. Thanks Oregon Dunes KOA Holiday for the wonderful memories!!!

Great stop if you want a true full service RV stop in and around Coos Bay, Oregon. It bills itself…read moreas a luxury RV, tiny house, and airstream trailer destination on Coos Bay and it delivers. This is my second stay at Baypoint Landing and everything was very consistent with the first time I stayed. Very helpful and friendly people at check-in. This time I booked a back in Bayview site that was pretty much right on the water. Left the shades up in my back windows and woke up with a view of the bay every morning. I've only used the RV sites but the 20 or so airstream trailers. They have there look like they'd be fun as well. The amenities at Baypoint Landing are really nice. Two bocce courts, two horseshoe pits, a children's playground, a pavilion if you wanna have a little party. There's also about a half dozen washing machines and dryers in the laundry room that includes a big table for folding all your stuff. The laundry room is open 24 hours via a door keypad. There are also four unisex bath and shower rooms and one male and one female bathroom. These are also open 24 hours via the same door keypad. The shower rooms are really nice, plenty of room to spread out and hooks on the walls for your clothes and towels. There's an abundance of hot water. There's no shampoo or soap so bring your own. The building that the shower rooms and laundry is in also has about a half a dozen covered garbage cans for the trash from your RVs. All this is pretty centrally located in the park so you don't have to walk very far. Baypoint Landing is only about a 14 or 15 minute drive into the commercial part of Coos Bay that has several seafood themed restaurants and bars. The only nit that I have is that the grounds have become infested with what I called goats head. It's those little yellow flowering plants that also produce a very sharp burr that falls on the ground. I guess it's indigenous to this Bayside location so there's not much they can do about it. But it's everywhere, gets in your dog hair and stuck to their paws and even stuck to the bottom of your shoes. You need to check carefully when you get in your RV and pull everything off or you're likely to get these burrs on the floor of your vehicle which will give you a very nasty surprise if you're up walking around without shoes.

The "fitness room" was a total disappointment. Asked the gal at check-in if they had free-weights. "Oh yes"she exclaimed. Really? 3 dumbell sets (10 lbs heaviest!) and no bench. Only machines were a couple of treadmills and stationary bikes. Fitness room for octogenarians? The pool is saltwater, and not big enough to swim laps. Maybe 10x40ft with stairs at one end. No spa. For the price of admission, this is pathetic. We've stayed at much less expensive resorts with far better amenities. This place relies on the location, which is decent, but not exceptional. You are on the bay, not the ocean, no with ocean access from the resort. In sum, we won't be returning; as the cost wasn't matched with value.

It wasn't as big as I expected, but they had all of the slot machines I enjoy playing, so I was happy with the selection. I also appreciated how clean everything was. I constantly saw employees wiping down the machines, and the ventilation system does a good job of keeping the casino from feeling overly smoky, even though smoking is allowed. On the downside, the non-smoking room still smelled like cigarette smoke, which was disappointing. The slot machines also seemed pretty tight during my visit. I wasn't impressed with the rewards program either. New members only receive $5 in free play after signing up for a player's card and spending $10 first, which seems a bit backwards. It would be nice if the free play was available immediately as a welcome incentive. Despite those drawbacks, the clean casino, great machine selection, and waterfront location made for an enjoyable visit.

And while not all transients are bad, we have experienced some that are on drugs, yelling, riding bikes at uncomfortably fast speeds, or just spitting and yelling at passersby. There was even a blunt sitting on an empty park bench. Which, shouldn't be an issue as marijuana is legal in this state, however, not only would someone not know what it's laced with, there are frequently children walking in that park and might come across it. If I didn't have my two dogs and my protector husband with me, you wouldn't catch me alone in that park ever. But with my bodyguards and always being alert and choosing my path wisely, I have some of the most amazing walks there!

I'll start with the good things about the park: It was easy access from Highway 101. The entrance was marked well, and it was navigable in a big rig (we did need to have someone move a vehicle when we were leaving due to cars being parked in the street since spaces are so tight). Our site was concrete and was very level. The wi-fi worked pretty well where we were located and there were no obstacles for satellite TV with our roof mounted dish. Hook-ups worked well at our site but another camper a few sites down from us had issues with a plugged sewer line. The park was quiet (the railroad yard nearby was not very active) and there is a walking trail from the park that leads to the Coos Bay boardwalk. There were some homeless people living in the rail yard but they were not panhandling on the walkway. And, the park is in close proximity to many great places on the coast. Now, the downsides: The sites are extremely tight. We had no room to sit outside, and it is even difficult to park your vehicle. The dog walk area is full of dog poop, and it's hard to walk without stepping in the waste. Which leads to management being on site only three days a week. If you have an issue you need to call and leave a message. Water pressure was low at our site. Finally, we were sure to not leave things outside of our RV due to the lack of management presence and the homeless population in the rail yard. The park is primarily full-time residents but they were very friendly to us. Again, not a bad park, but it's hard to enjoy fully when there isn't room to sit outside.
