I am no stranger to Make Me Holey, and truly, thank goodness for that…read more Their professionalism, friendliness, and customer service is unmatched. The moment you walk in the door, you're greeted by at least 1 associate happy to help. Not sure what piercing or jewelry you want? Trust that a Make Me Holey team member will be there to provide suggestions. Is the cost high? Yes. But their determination to provide a good experience makes them so unique and the pricing worth it. Do you have a budget? Well feel free to share that with the associate and they'll still share some amazing pierces within your price range. Despite coming to this business (and their new location after the move from downtown SJ) multiple times with wonderful experiences, what pushed me to write this review today was the fact that I was unlucky enough to break my cartilage piece but lucky enough to save and keep it to bring it in. I came in with the broken piece and the associate explained that due to the jewelry company's bad customer service, they're no longer working with them. Instead of saying "too bad, there's nothing we can do", the associate worked with me to get credit that applied to a new piece. I feel like most shops would not provide any help in a situation like this. Already obsessed with their work, service, and inventory to begin with, this truly solidified me as a lifelong customer and champion of Make Me Holey.

Still the best. I went last month to get my navel done, but alas, my navel was deemed un-do-able…read more I really appreciate the fact that Karissa and her crew are professional enough to give you an honest answer about your anatomy, rather than lie about it to take your money even if they know it will not work. This is why you should ALWAYS go to licensed and APP professionals. So we talked over the rest of my list of wants, and came down to the last one I had a good anatomy for. So I ended up getting my septum done!! I was not super prepared (pro-tip, trim the nose hairs before you do this one or your pics of it freshly done will be scary) and I hadn't really thought about jewelry options for it. Karissa took her time with me and helped me pick out a pretty little captured bead that I was pretty sure I could live with while it healed. (I have the jewelry attention span of a ...oh looook a shiny new piece of jewelry....) As always, she was professional and explained the steps to me, and warned me what to expect during the first few weeks of healing. I am very happy with it, it's healing nicely, and I cannot wait to go, in September, and have the captured bead ring switched out for something else, once it's all the way healed. Thank you for another successful hole in my head, Karrisa!

They have an amazing selection of real gold, rose gold and white gold jewelry. Maddie was a wonderful help at the desk selecting our jewelry and giving us the confidence to make our selections. Mariana pierced us both and was so skilled! I'm not gonna say it didn't hurt but she was quick and explained everything in detail as it was happening. I highly recommend this spot. Once I got into the room my piercer was friendly and very thorough. My previous piercing was not even on both sides and he took the time to show me several placements for my second hole to create the look I wanted. He walked me through some breathing exercises to preform to help decrease the pain. Before my visit I checked out the website which included the cost of the piercing ($80) for a second hole. Additionally, the website mentioned walk ins are welcome from Thursday - Sunday. My only complain about this shop was the lack of transparency on cost. Personally, I'm someone who prefers everything to be clearly listed black and white so I can review the information and make informed decisions without feeling pressured. At this shop, you need to ask about the price of each individual piece, which can be a little uncomfortable. I asked for quotes on a few jewelry options, and when I made my selection, I was told the jewelry would cost $30 but it ended up being $28 per piece, which came out to $56 for both ears. There was also a $36 charge for two titanium threadless labret posts (the backing, I believe), which I hadn't anticipated. On top of that, I was charged $10 for saline spray for aftercare, something that wasn't mentioned beforehand. In my head, I was estimating around $150 total, factoring in the $80 listed for the piercing and some variable jewelry cost. So walking out with a $211 bill was a bit of a surprise. I really wish the full breakdown, especially the add ons, was made more transparent either online or displayed clearly in the shop to avoid that kind of sticker shock. With that said, I'm very happy with my piercing and the overall experience. The staff was professional and kind, and the shop was clean and clearly run with care. I plan on coming back for future piercings and recommend it to others.
