I got my belly pierced here at the beginning of June. It's currently mid October and it is fully healed, has never had any issues, and I've changed the jewelry out too. I could not recommend this place more. I've gotten my rook (2 years ago) and conch (3 1/2 years ago) done as well and they both healed perfectly without any issues. If you want to get pierced at a place with very friendly and caring employees, definitely come here! Vaughn is the goat you can tell he's very knowledgeable and enjoys his profession. He asked me where I got my piercing done and since I got it done all the way in sf I wasn't thinking he'd know the shops there but he totally did, I immediately knew he was a trustworthy piercer. He helped me out with my tongue piercing and alleviated my worries about the possibility of my piercing embedding. Everytime my swelling fluctuated i'd just think "Vaughn said it's okay." and my worries dissapeared . My first time ever being pierced was last month at Vaughn's, and I couldn't have dreamed of a more safe and welcoming experience. Even without an appointment, when I knocked on the door one day they were super happy to let me in to look at jewelry - thankfully, they had some pretty basic stuff that suited me (not just the higher-end gold on their website!). The person at the jewelry counter was so friendly and happy to chat and answer all my silly nervous first-timer questions, and sat me down and explained all the very basic ins and outs of what it meant to care for a piercing. They made sure I knew how everything was a freshly sterilized one-time use needle, and that the studs were made of a special safe piercing-grade metal. Later, for the actual piercing, my piercer was super lovely also. Highly recommend this place especially for my queer friends - my partner and I were always addressed as "friend" rather than with gendered terms, which is always a bright green flag for me :) If I ever get pierced again, I 100% intend to come back to Vaughn's for the safe feeling and lack of judgment. read more

Everything about my experience was lovely. From the time they greeted me at the door, to when I checked out. Their staff is heavily trained in customer service skills and it shows. I was actually shocked at how nice they were. Their staff lets you know what you're getting into, by explaining the steps along the way. The piercer themself was pleasant. I let them know it was my first time getting pierced (apart from my baby self who got her ears pierced, lol) and they were so kind about it! It made the experience less scary as an anxious individual who does not like needles. They even checked if I was happy about the piercing location. They also provided excellent education about after care. This place cares about your piercing healing well. They encourage you to come back for a check up and to make adjustments to the bolt size if needed. Prices vary depending on what you are looking for. They do have some lower end pricing, but most of their beautiful jewelry is expensive due to the quality (gold, titanium, real gemstones etc.). Make sure you plan accordingly. I actually got two piercings done here and I might go back for a third. This is purely a piercing shop, therefore they are meticulous about what they offer. Vaughn's is truly a wonderful place to get a piercing! I was recommended this place by a few coworkers, as I was looking to get second piercings on my lobes. The second I stepped inside their establishment, I was warmly greeted by the incredibly informative and friendly staff. Not only are they impeccably clean (even showing you a test strip of their sterilizing machine...I'm not sure the specific name for it) but take their time while piercing. I love how the staff was extremely patient and dedicated to their craft. They clearly illustrated the aftercare process, even sending me a file with written instructions in case I forgot. They have a wide array of jewelry to choose from. They also made sure I was confident in the placement of my piercings, which I appreciated. My piercer (I believe her name is Adriana...I will edit and give her credit if I got her name wrong) was super sweet and made sure I was comfortable. The person who greeted me at the register and was going after care details (I apologize, I forgot their name) [edit: Carter] was equally polite and extremely knowledgeable. The service was phenomenal. I went in June of 23 (I believe) to get a belly button piercing. After a few weeks (maybe days) I went back for a follow up because I was concerned the piercing was too small and it was digging into my skin. I was told it was normal. 8 months later and I'm finally removing it because it was still digging into my skin and didn't heal properly. I was consistent with the cleaning and products used. I'm really disappointed because I am convinced it was too small and I went back and said something and here we are months later. I gave 3 stars because staff was great and I guess I could have gone back and requested a bigger size but I am new to the body piercing game and trusted the piercing pro's judgement. Anyway. I do recommend this place for piercings, just maybe not that lady for navel piercings. Can't remember her name so this probably isn't that useful. Tip: if you think it looks crooked, it is. Your piercing pro might be looking at it from an angle and it's your body so speak up. (My piercing was also off center) Tip #2: go back and pay for the consultation if you feel something is wrong. You can't redo a hole but you could avoid being in my shoes 8 months later. read more

I had both my philtrum and second lobes pierced by Cody years ago and it was the best piercing experience I've ever had. Cody is super informative, extremely sanitary and very gentle. All 3 piercings healed extremely well with no issues. I just went in yesterday to get the 3rd hole in my lobes pierced and they were done by Shay who was just as awesome! Extremely friendly and easy to talk to, again as sanitary as possible and made the whole process relaxing and easy! They also have an excellent selection of jewelry, I've been wanting new jewelry for my philtrum but have struggled to find something threaded and in rose gold... as soon as I walked in I found exactly what I was looking for! They aren't doing jewelry changeouts for lip piercings, but the person helping me pick out jewelry (totally forgot their name!) talked me through how to change it and it was super easy. They also made sure to go over the cost of everything before even starting the piercing which is awesome so there are no surprises at the end. We just got our 8 year old daughter's ears pierced and had a wonderful experience. Cody Vaughn is professional and will walk you (the parents) and your child through the preparation, execution and cleaning process. They did it twice which was helpful to drive home the requirements to care for your child's new piercings. Even when it came time to do the piercing Cody walked our child through the execution of piercing before doing the actual piercing and said there would be no surprises and that if she wanted to stop the process at anytime then that was perfectly fine. I went to Vaughn Body Arts back in September for my birthday and had a great experience. Now 7 months later my ear lobe piercings are totally healed and I haven't had any infections (I had bad experiences of ear peircing infections from getting them done at Claire's as a kid). But I followed the after care instructions and I've had no problems. Everyone including the front staff was very helpful and kind. I was pierced by Shay and I really enjoyed how she walked me through everything and communicated every step of the way.
