It's more 3.5 stars since there is half star here on Yelp. We came here with our family for dinner since we have a big party, our family called to make a reservation ahead of time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As soon as we got there, we thought it's very hot later found out their ac was out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But with the grill in front, the experience was not pleasant. Per recommendation by the server, I ordered the premium beef set and my aunt ordered the cheaper one. They told us the premium beef set should be more tender but when I tried both, I felt the cheaper set the 29 dollars one was more flavorful and the texture was no difference. I think the 45 dollar set the quality was not as good as I thought for what we paid. Kind of disappointing, for the three of us we spent 120 after tax and tips and I don't think it's worth it. The food amount was not that big either. I don't think I will be back.

Came here on a Friday night around 6PM and was greeted by the staffs who seated us. My friend and I ordered Beef Gyukatsu and Cream Curry Udon. The Beef Gyukatsu is something I fell in love with in Japan so I wanted to also try it back in the US. The concept was the same where they will give you a heated stone grill and you will have to self cook your meat for a few seconds. The meat was a bit chewy and the batter didn't quite stick to the meat as it kept falling off. The batter also wasn't as crunchy and had a weird texture in between the batter and the meat. The salad was also lacking some flavors. Wish they had some dressing at the side so we can pour it ourself if needed. As for the cream curry udon, it was definitely creamy and hot. The noodles were also cooked to perfection with a ton of flavors. Overall, I thought this place was worth the try, however, it was a disappointment in terms of the Beef Gyukatsu. I would definitely order the cream curry udon again though. The staffs were also attentive and nice. Parking was easy.

This was my first time to try this restaurant. It is located at a strip mall and parking is not too hard to find. The restaurant was famous for its wagyu beef and beef tongue. You will get a portable hot stone grill and you put the meat there. It came with a couple of side dishes. Corn, radish, and some dipping sauce. The menu was extensive and there were a lot of different types of food. The service we received was polite and attentive.

I recently tried Kobe Gyukatsu and overall had a good experience. The concept is really unique. You get to cook the beef to your liking on a hot stone, which makes the meal interactive and fun. The quality of the food was solid, and everything was prepared well. That said, it wasn't quite as flavorful as the gyukatsu I've had in Japan, where the taste and quality felt a bit more elevated. The biggest downside is the price. It's definitely on the pricier side for what you get, so it doesn't feel like the best value compared to similar spots. Service was okay. Nothing special about it. Overall, still a good place to try, especially if you're curious about gyukatsu or want something different but just be prepared for a higher price point.

I've never had this before so one night for dinner we decided to try it out. We came in around 7pm on a Saturday night and even though it was packed, there wasn't anyone else waiting outside. We waited for maybe about 10 minutes before they gave us our table. I was going to order the Gyukatsu Set (the regular one), but as soon as my friend ordered her part (which was also the set plus the cream curry udon), our server moved to take both of our menus away. We got confused because I hadn't ordered my share yet and we weren't sure if he just assumed that both dishes were for the both of us? He told us yeah that's enough for two people and walked away. We decided later on to just get another gyukatsu set so we went to the back counter to add it to our order. The cream curry udon was interesting and I haven't had anything like it. I didn't expect it to be as foamy as it was, and the actual curry was on the bottom. The actual gyukatsu was great though. You cook it on the hot stones yourself and you also get some miso soup, rice, salad, and dipping sauces on the side. I did have some leftovers but not necessarily enough of it to be a full second meal. It was also quite hard to get any attention if we needed anything and multiple times we ended up having to walk up to the counter in the back to ask for what we needed. The food was good but they need to get more staff members to accommodate the number of customers that they have coming in needing their attention.

They have potato cream curry udon here!!! This is not a drill!!!! My friends and I were looking for a place to go for dinner on a Saturday evening. Literally as we scrolled through Yelp, the thing that caught our immediate attention was a video of a noodle pull from a cream curry udon! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is clean and comfortable, very reminiscent of Muji with the wooden furniture aesthetic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was fast and friendly! I was delighted with the cream curry udon dish. The cream melted faster than I expected, and it has the consistency of actual whipped cream, except savory! But as it melted into the curry broth, it gave the noodles such a fragrant taste, so it was delicious either way! I would totally come back and order the mazemen or cream curry again. I wish we had a Kobe Gyukatsu in the San Fernando Valley lol!

Among the hustle and bustle streets of Hacienda Heights, there lies a "blink, and you'll miss" restaurant. The entrance is at the corner and unassuming, but behind the doorway is a cozy interior. We stopped by around 5 pm on the weekend. It was not yet packed, but more customers arrived soon after. We ordered their non‑premium sets to get a true sense of the restaurant's standard flavors. Takoyaki (5/5) - crispy outside, molten creamy batter inside, good proportion of octopus filling, and a fresh dashi flavor with a balanced mayo. It did not disappoint. Pork Cutlet (4/5) - simple and clean. It comes with two slices of the pork cutlets (good proportions). Ideally, I prefer two medium pieces instead of one large cutlet (as the latter may appear overwhelming). The batter was great - light-golden, crispy, and fluffy. The pork quality and thickness were great, but it could be slightly moister (it was certainly not dry or stringy, but it could be improved in the frying process). The sides were OK, and the salad dressing was on the spot in terms of flavor and amount, but the miso soup needs improvement as it tasted watery and bland (needs more miso). Kobe Tonkotsu Ramen (4/5) - enjoyed the broth. It was not overpowering or heavy. The toppings were decent. The chashu was delicious, but adding an option to add extra on the menu would really elevate the experience for those who enjoy a more protein-forward bowl. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, we enjoyed the atmosphere, the food, and the FOH staff. Kobe Gyukatsu will be on our list of return visits[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].

We have been to this restaurant but in different locations many times and it never fails. The diest time we ever tried hot stone grill beef was in Japan. The quality of meat is excellent... tender and juicy in every bite. Order the egg in kelp sauce for dipping the beef gives it a delicious flavor which I personally enjoy. They have many other beef and cutlet sets to choose from. Also their udon noodle soup is amazing. The texture is bouncy and the soup is light yet flavorful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service is great and ambience is casual and relaxing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Went to Kobe Gyukatsu on a saturday afternoon. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated immediately and the restaurant was pretty spacious.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food: 3/5 I had ordered takoyaki, spicy creamy noodles, chicken curry katsu, and premium gyukatsu. Takoyaki came with 4 pieces. It was good, came out hot and fresh but nothing remarkable. Spicy creamy noodles were not that great. Tasted pretty bland and not what i expected from spicy noodles. Whipped potato was a cool touch but added nothing but aesthetics. Premium gykatsu is the best seller. Came with miso soup, rice, salad, corn, and dipping sauces. It was a fun experience since it came with a mini stone grill and you could cook the meat yourself. Beef was soft and tender, the only downside was it lacked flavor even with the dipping sauce. I wish the meal came with salt and pepper or other seasonings. Service: 4/5 Service was decent, they seated us pretty quick and food came out fast. Our server didn't really engage with us let alone say anything besides mhm. I don't really mind though, they were still very kind. ambiance: 4/5 [[HIGHLIGHT]]The location of the restaurant is pretty hidden, it's right behind the yogurtland and pretty easy to miss.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is very cute and simple, wooden design and warm lighting makes the place very welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very clean and well maintained.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]music was soft and not too distracting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] overall no complaints!

    Steak purple rice bowl

Was super excited to try gyukatsu for the first time, but I must admit, I was a little disappointed. They have a large menu with many options that look delicious. We ordered a regular gyukatsu combo and a steak purple rice bowl. The gyukatsu has a layer of tempura on the outside but it was not exactly crispy. We were afraid of over grilling the meat so we cooked it to a rare-medium rare level but the meat was still a little tough to chew. The steak rice bowl while not mind blowing was spicy and very flavorful. I also have to say that portion size was quite generous given its price. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself is large and clean with a lot of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was nice as well.

My first time at Kobe Gyukatsu and it was delicious! My family and I came in Christmas Eve, and there was no way at all! The service was very friendly and on top of it. Between the four of us, we shared two premium sets, one creamy curry udon, gyoza and agedashi tofu. It was a good amount of food and everyone left. Super happy! I was delighted with the presentation of the premium set. I really appreciate how they added specialty salts and sides. One set is a full meal in itself. Excited to come back!

Really great restaurant located in Rowland Heights. We ordered the Cream Udon, Takoyaki, Katsu sandwiches, and the Beef Gyukatsu. I erally enjoyed everything. The Cream Udon was amazing, the sandwiches were good, the takoyaki was great, and the Beef Gyukatsu was really fun to make. If I were to go again, I would for sure get the Cream Udon or the Beef Gyukatsu again. For the Beef Gyukatsu, the green sauce they provide alongside was really great to get alongside everything presented. The service was good as well! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance of the restaurant was clean as well and there were bathrooms to be used.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking was also pretty easy to find near the restaurant there! Overall, I would recommend trying here, it was a good restaurant that I really enjoyed

The bossam arrived on this grill that kept it warm throughout the meal, which I can appreciate. The sulungtang and yukgaejang were both phenominal and hit the korean comfort food cravings. The pork is consistently tender, and the banchan (side dishes) are always fresh and high quality. The braised beef was good, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations. It could have been braised longer, and I felt the sauce didn't really penetrate the meat the way it has at other places, so the flavor was a bit lacking. Don't love when places do that. While the food was good they didn't check on us throughout the meal, which can be fine, however we had to ask for sodas mid meal. While the restaurant was busy it wasn't loud to where it created a difficult time of conversing between groups.
