    Brisket? 1 piece eaten
    Amy L.

Overall experience was great. Had reservations aat 830 but came at 755. Was told theyd text us if a spot opened up. Walked about 10 feet away and got a text and saw the host running to get us since someone cancelled. They have a sukiyaki only one that i sould get since they grill it then put the broth in which is interesting. I wanted to try both since it was the first time coming. The sukiyaki broth was rrally good. It wasnt overly sweet or salty like other places. The meat in sukiyaki and dipping it in the egg was amazingg. They have a self service area where you can get veggies, little sides like takowako, okra, tofu, etc. They also have hot tea, milk tea, yakult and soda that yoy can get. There also curry, sauces, and Ice cream. I enjoyed it here. I just wished they had deep fried buns with condensed milk. Parking is horrible tho

From start to finish, we enjoyed our lunch here. Service was attentive and friendly, staff kept filling & refilling drinks and broth, clearing dishes and quickly wiping down tables/chairs for the next customers. We did the Diamond $88 AYCE sukiyaki with some of the freshest meats and sashimi. We picked Otoro and A5 Wagyu tartare with caviar and it was deeelicious! Between the A5 ribeye and triple orders of Wagyu nigiri with foie gras and caviar plus several bluefin nigiris, we were truly satisfied and couldn't even think of having another meal for a couple of days.... we were so happy to satisfy our sukiyaki craving. They also have a section for unlimited veggies, noodles, side dishes, MILK tea, rice, ground Wagyu curry, every sauce imaginable and of course ice cream! It was quite a treat. We reserved on Yelp. We highly recommend 100% percent for a nice soupy, meaty, nigiri kind of date!

overall: very good experience. I'd come back. food: we got the Gold package and everything was so good. we tried some of the nigiri and it was very fresh. They have a self serve section with veggies and other stuff to put in the broth. they even have curry and rice but I didn't get to they offer both milk tea and calpico. service: the staff were super attentive and nice. they would come pretty quickly to clear the empty meat plate. ambiance: we came on a tuesday night and had a reservation. but it actually wasn't too busy so even without reservation there probably wouldn't have been a wait. parking: parking for me wasn't bad, there was a lot of parking available. there is a parking lot but depending on how busy the yes plaza is it can sometimes be hard to find parking. bathroom: they have two bathrooms and it was pretty clean.

Came back to Yumiyaki Sukiyaki House in Rowland Heights for a second visit, this time to celebrate Mother's Day with my parents (we went on Monday during lunch since I had to work Sunday). The ambiance was just as nice as I remembered, clean, modern, and comfortable without feeling too crowded. It has a relaxed but slightly upscale vibe that makes it feel like a good spot for special occasions, but still casual enough for a weekday lunch. Since we went during lunch on a Monday, it was quieter, which made it even more enjoyable and easy to have conversations. This visit honestly stood out even more than the first. Our server Nate was amazing. It was my parents' first time here and he really took the time to explain the menu, answer their questions, and make sure they felt comfortable the whole time. He checked in often and made the whole experience feel smooth and welcoming. Definitely one of those servers you remember. For the broth, they now offer a split pot option, so we went with both sukiyaki and shabu shabu, which was nice since we got to enjoy both styles in one meal. For meats, my parents' favorites were the A5 Wagyu shoulder cuts and the Australian full blood M9 shoulder cuts, and I actually agree with them. Those had a great balance and weren't overwhelming. The A5 ribeye, A5 brisket, and A5 chuck roll (now listed as A5 chuck ribeye) were a bit too fatty for my taste this time around. The sashimi platter was solid, but I was surprised they ran out of ginger, which was a bit of a letdown. We went with the Diamond again and pricing was the same as my last visit, which I appreciated. That said, I think next time I'd go with the Gold tier instead. The ribeye isn't really my thing anymore, and the specialty items don't feel as novel once you've tried them already. We made reservations just in case, but for a weekday lunch you could probably get away without one. Parking was also much easier compared to what I imagine it's like during busy nights or weekends. Also, I don't remember they have scallops and tiger shrimp from my first visit but these were great additions. Overall, still a really solid experience. Great food, standout service, and I'd definitely be back.

Great service, always high quality meat and they have the jams per usual on the aux to help fulfill the vibe... Only thing I'd enjoy more is that if A5 sushi is labeled as foigras or with caviar, I'd hope that it here could be more added for the actual flavor to compliment and not be an after thought. Also if you get the side raw egg, use the broth at the end to have a little egg drop soup to finish the meal before the ice cream.

    We were hungry..

Yumiyaki was such a great experience. The broth was incredibly flavorful, and we loved the split soup that our awesome server Lisa recommended. She was super attentive and very helpful the whole time. The sushi was so yummy, the fresh meat selections were awesome, and the all‑you‑can‑eat option makes it even better ,definitely come hungry. We'll definitely be back.

Came to Yumiyaki to eat for my birthday and was amazed at the quality of their meat and seafood. My friend and I ordered their diamond menu which is $88 per person or $78 if you are a member. Since it was my birthday I got an additional $38 off which is applicable on the day of or +/- a day. The only difference between the gold and diamond menu is that you get a speciality dish, 2 extra meats and some sushi options and the price difference is $10. Everything on my visit was delicious and fresh. We ordered the uni toro bowl and otoro bowl with caviar for our speciality item. Both of the dishes had a good amount of toro on top which was flavorful. The uni and caviar was more of a garnish in my opinion. The A5 ribeye was grilled at table side. Since we ordered sukiyaki for our broth they gave us egg to dip our meat. Our server grilled our meat and placed it in our egg. The meat was soft and literally melted in our mouths. I could eat 20 orders of that and be satisfied. Our server ordered 1 of each of the meats for us to start off. It went down the menu so make sure which one you like. My favorite was the A5 chuck ribeye and full blood M9 chuck roll. All these are unlimited so order as much as you want. Those two cuts were most tender and not too fatty. They have scallops at the self service bar which were gigantic. I basically ate the whole container there since they were that good. Make sure not to cook it for too long as it will get rubbery. About 1 min in the boiling water is good. The sashimi and nigiri were delicious as well. The fish was buttery and thick cut. It came with salmon, yellowtail and tuna. They have different carpaccios as well and hand rolls/nigiri. Their service was good. Our server came to check in on us frequently and the other servers as well. Parking is tough as they share the lot with multiple businesses.

    Karen L.

Reservation was made through yelp and we were seated promptly. At the time I went, parking was okay but since it is shared with multiple businesses so it can possibly be packed. The restaurant was clean and decorated with a vibe. The restaurant offers AYCE shabu meats and sushi. You can choose from two different option tiers (fyi it is more on the pricier side). Their Wagyu was tender and very flavorful and you can choose from a wide selection of nigiri and sashimi. Furthermore, there is also a serve it yourself bar with veggie, side dishes, sauces, curry, and drinks. At the end there are a few ice cream selections you can choose from. I always definitely go for the matcha! Overall it was a nice experience. The staff members were friendly, very attentive, and made sure to check up on us to make sure if we needed anything.

A5 Wagyu Nigiri w/ Foie Gras
    Isabelle N.

Yumiyaki has been our go-to favorite restaurant ever since our first visit. Both the quality of the food and the service have not failed to impress even as the time passed. Both Elias and Jessica give us great service every time we come here, and are always friendly and attentive. Overall, every server is very kind and attentive, and the service here goes above and beyond. I, myself, mainly come here because their A5 Nigiri with Foie Gras is my favorite thing to eat, period. If you order sukiyaki, they cook the limited meat for you before starting the hotpot and it's delicious as well! I recommend getting the A5 Chuck Ribeye or brisket afterwards, the shoulder cuts are not my favorite. If you get the diamond menu, which I always recommend for the nigiris and A5 ribeye, you also get a specialty dish! Out of all of them, I'd have to say the uni toro bowl is the most enjoyable. The self serve bar is almost always full and you can select sauces, drinks, and hotpot sides there. They also have rice and wagyu curry, and if you want dessert, they have lots of ice cream flavors! I would definitely recommend here out of all the Chubby locations.

Made reservation thru Yelp and was seated at an early arrival Service was excellent and very attentive, kitchen staff was a couple of times but still no complaints Food was quality quantity and quality Meat selection were only a few but remember this is a shabu shabu that served A5. My friend never eats raw sushi but ordered the bluefin nigiri multiple times and is now a convert. My 3 Chubby group try and so far so excellent

A hotpot adventure indeed... Came on a Tuesday night around 8. Made reservations for 3 in advance. The plaza is not too big, parking is a hit and miss. When we entered, the workers greeted us right away. It was busy for Tuesday. Did a quick look around, the joint had a cool vibe. Family, friends or a date type of thing. Didn't wait long at all, we walked to our table within minutes. I looked at our options and theres 2 choices on the menu, gold or diamond. I said gold but after my friends glanced at the menu, we decided to go with Diamond. Our waiter was a gentleman, my friend had questions and he answered all of them. I told her to order and surprise me. Food came out fast, our waiter had to cook something first to start off. Before we know it, 4 rounds of meat and sushi haha. All in all everyone enjoyed it, will be back in the future.

Yumiyaki is absolutely worth the splurge. I loved it so much I decided to opt in for their membership. Their self service bar has vegetables, seafood, curry, soda, and milk tea! The sashimi and tartare is fresh and delicious! If you're a sukiyaki lover like me, theirs is simply delicious. Every cut of meat we tried was tender and top-notch. It's a treat-yourself kind of place, and it completely delivered.

But…read morewhile many people see the volume izakayas and ramen shops, it's actually quite rare to stumble upon a traditional mom & pop spot that makes classic Japanese favorites. That's why I immediately came down to Tamaya when I noticed the laid back atmosphere, small storefront, and modest food offerings. Walking up on a Wednesday evening around 6:45PM, there was a line to eat in the small dining room. But we were seated relatively quickly. Looking at the menu, there were large variety of appetizers ranging from your chashu and takoyaki to tofu steaks and gyozas. But what I was interested in was the amount of different ramen options, curry plates, and don bowls. With so many choices, you're definitely in for more than your typical Japanese spot. For this visit, I decided to try their Meat Lover's Ramen which was $19.25 at the time of this review. And looking at the bowl, I was very pleased. For one, large chunks of beef, chicken, and chashu pork were all on the surface with some vegetables and cilantro. The noodles to ingredient ratio was pretty equal at about 50% noodles to 50% ingredients. And with a soup base that filled up to the top of the bowl, there was no justification needed for the $19 price tag. If you're looking for a ramen with mass quantity, Tamaya is definitely the spot for you! Taste-wise, the flavors did clash a little as the meats all had different flavors to them. But nonetheless, they all paired well with the rest of the ingredients. While the chunks of beef had a soy sauce undertone to them, the chashu was more sweet and fatty. The chicken tasted lightly stir-fried, but was chunky and filling. The noodles of this dish were softer, but tasted great with the creamy broth. And although the greens were garnishes, they tasted freshly washed and added some fresh flavors to the bowl of ramen. There are so many ramen shops in the San Gabriel Valley that get the hype from so many reviewers. And to that, Tamaya does just as good of a job at making a great ramen (if not better)! The place feels cozy and approachable for those looking to try different kinds of Japanese food, the prices for the food were very good in the Rowland Heights area, the food tasted delicious, and the offerings are very diverse compared to many other specialized places. Because of these offerings, Tamaya easily earns a 5/5 in my book and is a place I will return to again and again.

Now that same small fried rice is $7, so these days I usually just stick with the ramen. The interior has barely changed over the years, and the restaurant has stayed in the same location the entire time. What I really appreciate is how consistent the food quality has remained after all these years. I also love ordering their iced coffee every visit. It's funny because this is a ramen restaurant, but the coffee is surprisingly good and perfectly matches my taste. One of the reasons I enjoy coming here so much is the atmosphere. You can often hear the staff speaking Japanese, which really adds to the authentic vibe and makes it feel like you're eating at a small ramen shop in Japan. Definitely a place I'll keep coming back to.

This time, I tried the omurice, which is egg-wrapped, curry-flavored rice and chicken with your choice of sauce. I chose their curry, which I've always enjoyed. This also came with your choice of corn or miso soup and a salad. I also ordered a side topping of sautéed chicken as I was especially hungry that morning. The omelet wrapping the rice was nicely fluffy with a deliciously subtle blend of savory and sweet flavors. I enjoyed the diverse spices from the curry-flavored rice. With small chunks of chicken, the dish was slightly more filling. I wish there was just a little more curry portioned out. The sautéed chicken on the side was delicious and reminded me of times I enjoyed pan-fried steak dishes from Hong Kong cafes. Interestingly, the omurice came with seasoned fries and steamed carrots and green beans a slight touch of American cuisine). Overall, it was delicious combining all the flavors from the curry, rice, omelet, and sautéed chicken into one bite. Service was good. All our dishes had a nice and careful presentation. Our server also refilled my water without me asking. However, the restaurant can get loud due to the small interior. As usual, parking was in high demand, but we found a spot close to the north exit. There was a crowd of people standing near the entrance, so I thought we were in for a long wait. However, they were thankfully waiting for another restaurant nearby.

Thankfully they were able to accommodate a group of 9 of us on a Thursday afternoon. I've tried two things since I've been here. 1) Nabeyaki Udon: 5/10 While the udon was delicious and soft, the rest of the dish was alright. Filled with typical things like shrimp tempura, egg, and fish cake, it wasn't anything extraordinary. 2) Curry with Hamburg steak: 6/10 I can see the hype about this curry. It was a tad spicy for me but it was packed with so much flavor. The curry was super filling but the Hamburg steak wasn't as soft as I would have liked. Tasted better than a regular beef patty you can get at In N out but I had expected to be more juicy and tender. After halfway, the curry was starting to feel overwhelming because of how thick it was, plus the addition of white rice. I also appreciated how this meal came with corn soup so pretty good for the price. I would visit again and try some other things on their menu.

This was a very nice restaurant with options for indoor and outdoor. As One Summer's Day started playing, it created such a relaxing atmosphere that paired perfectly with the tasty ramen. I ordered the Spicy Tan Tan Ramen (+ seasoned egg). There are other additions that you can choose from to customize your ramen, but for me, a bowl is incomplete if it doesn't have an egg. I immediately noticed how the thick, wavy noodles created the perfect bite. The broth clung beautifully to the noodles so each mouthful was packed with flavor. The Spicy Tan Tan wasn't too spicy; rather, it had a pleasant warmth that enhanced the rich, savory broth. Our server was wonderful! She was welcoming and ensured that we were enjoying our meal. Overall, this was a very memorable dining experience.

Green chili shio ramen - 5/5 I love how light and flavorful this ramen is. It has a mild kick and the noodles are perfect. It's comes with a huge pile or yummy veggies and the portions are great. I get this every time if I'm in the mood for a ramen that won't make me feel groggy. Chicken nanban bowl - 4.5/5 The portions are also huge, and the chicken is fried really well. This is great for those who don't want ramen. It's extra to add nanban, and while it's tasty, sometimes it can be a bit sweet. So next time, he's looking to get it plain. Service - 5/5 the waitresses here are always so nice and welcoming. They're quick and they also have a reward system you can earn points.
