If you want a hot pot experience that is truly worth the price, Yumiyaki is the spot. We opted for the Diamond Menu at $88 per person, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Seeing our friends only a couple of times a year called for this kind of birthday celebration. The highlight of the meal is the sukiyaki option. Before they even pour the broth, the server grills the initial cuts of Japanese A5 Wagyu right in front of you to flavor the pot. It is a fantastic presentation, and the meat melts in your mouth! The brisket was my Hubby's favorite! It truly does melt in your mouth! For the all-you-can-eat rounds, the A5 chuck ribeye and brisket are incredible, offering a perfect level of richness. Beyond the hot pot, the Diamond tier gives you access to premium sushi and specialty items. The A5 nigiri with foie gras and the uni toro bowl were exceptional and tasted incredibly fresh! Those were my personal favorite! They also have a great self-serve bar stocked with high-quality sauces, hot pot sides, prawns, scallops, and wagyu curry. We finished our lunch with their ice cream dessert, but the green tea ice cream didn't taste anything like green tea so I may opt for another flavor next time. The customer service was attentive throughout the night, ensuring our meat plates were constantly replenished during our 90-minute limit. I was relieved we had a waitress that was knowledgeable and helped us a whole lot with the process and the menu. Reservations -Using the Yelp reservation helped secure our spot in the event there were a lot of people that day. However there wasn't a wait when we showed up on this particular Sun at 11:30 am.

This is my new favorite hot pot place. The service is amazing, the cuts of meat is the best. I would say skip the sushi and focus on the hotpot. I love the bar they have for veggies and sauce. I love how they flavor your pot prior to pouring in your broth choice. Overall 10/10. Make reservations if you're an NFT member or join the waitlist and wait a while.

Our family tried the Diamond tier split pot and overall it was a really good experience! Shoutout to our server Nicole Chan for amazing customer service! Food: The sukiyaki and shabu Shabu broths were both delicious. The Sukiyaki was a bit sweet for me so I'm glad we had both options the meat quality was also really good, and my favorite were the Ribeye and Chuck roll. The beef nigiri and the toro uni bowl were also really good. As for the sashimi/sushi stuff, it was OK to me so I'd recommend getting more of the meat for this place. They also have a self serve bar area where you can pick out your own veggies/sides/teas/sodas/ice cream/dipping sauce so that was a nice option. Vibes: we came on July 4th lunch time and actually it was very empty and chill, which we appreciated since we had a 1 yr old in our party. They played some lit music like Taylor swift and EDM lol so I enjoyed that. Also most of the tables were configured for 4 or 2 people so tbh not ideal for super big groups. Parking: we came here on Saturday afternoon and there was plenty of parking Service: 10/10 quick and awesome service. However I do want to note that the restaurant was quite empty so I'm not sure how service would be if the place was packed.

This place is still bomb! I love the quality and freshness of their ingredients! My server this time is Kaylen, she's delightful and pleasant to work with. The self-serve area ran out of tea and matcha ice cream; we informed Kaylen and she was on top of it right away. I joined their annual membership; you get $38 off for birthday discount (you can use it one day before, on, or one day after your birthday). Needless to say, I'm definitely revisiting!

Overall experience was great. Had reservations aat 830 but came at 755. Was told theyd text us if a spot opened up. Walked about 10 feet away and got a text and saw the host running to get us since someone cancelled. They have a sukiyaki only one that i sould get since they grill it then put the broth in which is interesting. I wanted to try both since it was the first time coming. The sukiyaki broth was rrally good. It wasnt overly sweet or salty like other places. The meat in sukiyaki and dipping it in the egg was amazingg. They have a self service area where you can get veggies, little sides like takowako, okra, tofu, etc. They also have hot tea, milk tea, yakult and soda that yoy can get. There also curry, sauces, and Ice cream. I enjoyed it here. I just wished they had deep fried buns with condensed milk. Parking is horrible tho

overall: very good experience. I'd come back. food: we got the Gold package and everything was so good. we tried some of the nigiri and it was very fresh. They have a self serve section with veggies and other stuff to put in the broth. they even have curry and rice but I didn't get to they offer both milk tea and calpico. service: the staff were super attentive and nice. they would come pretty quickly to clear the empty meat plate. ambiance: we came on a tuesday night and had a reservation. but it actually wasn't too busy so even without reservation there probably wouldn't have been a wait. parking: parking for me wasn't bad, there was a lot of parking available. there is a parking lot but depending on how busy the yes plaza is it can sometimes be hard to find parking. bathroom: they have two bathrooms and it was pretty clean.

From start to finish, we enjoyed our lunch here. Service was attentive and friendly, staff kept filling & refilling drinks and broth, clearing dishes and quickly wiping down tables/chairs for the next customers. We did the Diamond $88 AYCE sukiyaki with some of the freshest meats and sashimi. We picked Otoro and A5 Wagyu tartare with caviar and it was deeelicious! Between the A5 ribeye and triple orders of Wagyu nigiri with foie gras and caviar plus several bluefin nigiris, we were truly satisfied and couldn't even think of having another meal for a couple of days.... we were so happy to satisfy our sukiyaki craving. They also have a section for unlimited veggies, noodles, side dishes, MILK tea, rice, ground Wagyu curry, every sauce imaginable and of course ice cream! It was quite a treat. We reserved on Yelp. We highly recommend 100% percent for a nice soupy, meaty, nigiri kind of date!

Came back to Yumiyaki Sukiyaki House in Rowland Heights for a second visit, this time to celebrate Mother's Day with my parents (we went on Monday during lunch since I had to work Sunday). The ambiance was just as nice as I remembered, clean, modern, and comfortable without feeling too crowded. It has a relaxed but slightly upscale vibe that makes it feel like a good spot for special occasions, but still casual enough for a weekday lunch. Since we went during lunch on a Monday, it was quieter, which made it even more enjoyable and easy to have conversations. This visit honestly stood out even more than the first. Our server Nate was amazing. It was my parents' first time here and he really took the time to explain the menu, answer their questions, and make sure they felt comfortable the whole time. He checked in often and made the whole experience feel smooth and welcoming. Definitely one of those servers you remember. For the broth, they now offer a split pot option, so we went with both sukiyaki and shabu shabu, which was nice since we got to enjoy both styles in one meal. For meats, my parents' favorites were the A5 Wagyu shoulder cuts and the Australian full blood M9 shoulder cuts, and I actually agree with them. Those had a great balance and weren't overwhelming. The A5 ribeye, A5 brisket, and A5 chuck roll (now listed as A5 chuck ribeye) were a bit too fatty for my taste this time around. The sashimi platter was solid, but I was surprised they ran out of ginger, which was a bit of a letdown. We went with the Diamond again and pricing was the same as my last visit, which I appreciated. That said, I think next time I'd go with the Gold tier instead. The ribeye isn't really my thing anymore, and the specialty items don't feel as novel once you've tried them already. We made reservations just in case, but for a weekday lunch you could probably get away without one. Parking was also much easier compared to what I imagine it's like during busy nights or weekends. Also, I don't remember they have scallops and tiger shrimp from my first visit but these were great additions. Overall, still a really solid experience. Great food, standout service, and I'd definitely be back.

    Julian R.

Great service, always high quality meat and they have the jams per usual on the aux to help fulfill the vibe... Only thing I'd enjoy more is that if A5 sushi is labeled as foigras or with caviar, I'd hope that it here could be more added for the actual flavor to compliment and not be an after thought. Also if you get the side raw egg, use the broth at the end to have a little egg drop soup to finish the meal before the ice cream.

Came to Yumiyaki to eat for my birthday and was amazed at the quality of their meat and seafood. My friend and I ordered their diamond menu which is $88 per person or $78 if you are a member. Since it was my birthday I got an additional $38 off which is applicable on the day of or +/- a day. The only difference between the gold and diamond menu is that you get a speciality dish, 2 extra meats and some sushi options and the price difference is $10. Everything on my visit was delicious and fresh. We ordered the uni toro bowl and otoro bowl with caviar for our speciality item. Both of the dishes had a good amount of toro on top which was flavorful. The uni and caviar was more of a garnish in my opinion. The A5 ribeye was grilled at table side. Since we ordered sukiyaki for our broth they gave us egg to dip our meat. Our server grilled our meat and placed it in our egg. The meat was soft and literally melted in our mouths. I could eat 20 orders of that and be satisfied. Our server ordered 1 of each of the meats for us to start off. It went down the menu so make sure which one you like. My favorite was the A5 chuck ribeye and full blood M9 chuck roll. All these are unlimited so order as much as you want. Those two cuts were most tender and not too fatty. They have scallops at the self service bar which were gigantic. I basically ate the whole container there since they were that good. Make sure not to cook it for too long as it will get rubbery. About 1 min in the boiling water is good. The sashimi and nigiri were delicious as well. The fish was buttery and thick cut. It came with salmon, yellowtail and tuna. They have different carpaccios as well and hand rolls/nigiri. Their service was good. Our server came to check in on us frequently and the other servers as well. Parking is tough as they share the lot with multiple businesses.

Food was exceptionally great, the texture and flavor from the meat especially the A5 Wagyu was amazing and the sukiyaki broth was excellent, not too strong or overpowering it was just right. Sashimi and nigiri were very fresh and the customer service experience was very good. Absolutely would come back again on special occasions as it is a bit high on the price but it is well justified given what you're getting on the menu. Also the self-service station had high quality prawns and scallops that were also delicious and the ice cream dessert at the end was the cherry on top. If you're into Japanese hotpot, this might be the spot for you.

Yumiyaki has quickly become one of our favorite spots for both shabu shabu and sushi! The quality of the food is outstanding--the meat is fresh, tender, well marbled, and delicious, and the sushi is always incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. What really sets this restaurant apart is the service. Every server is genuinely friendly, welcoming, and attentive. A special shoutout to Nate, Kaylen, and Yang, who consistently go above and beyond to make every visit enjoyable. The restaurant is always spotless, and I love the self-serve drink fountain, well-stocked sauce bar, and fresh vegetable bar. Everything is organized, clean, and easy to use, making the dining experience even better. If you plan on coming more than once, the membership is absolutely worth it. It usually pays for itself by the second visit, making it an easy decision for anyone who enjoys great food at a great value. Excellent food, exceptional service, and a clean, comfortable atmosphere--I highly recommend Yumiyaki!

Reservation was made through yelp and we were seated promptly. At the time I went, parking was okay but since it is shared with multiple businesses so it can possibly be packed. The restaurant was clean and decorated with a vibe. The restaurant offers AYCE shabu meats and sushi. You can choose from two different option tiers (fyi it is more on the pricier side). Their Wagyu was tender and very flavorful and you can choose from a wide selection of nigiri and sashimi. Furthermore, there is also a serve it yourself bar with veggie, side dishes, sauces, curry, and drinks. At the end there are a few ice cream selections you can choose from. I always definitely go for the matcha! Overall it was a nice experience. The staff members were friendly, very attentive, and made sure to check up on us to make sure if we needed anything.

    Ask the Community - Yumiyaki

    Do u guys serve alcohol?

    Yes, they do.

Do they have rice or radish paper?

Yes, they have rice. Don’t recall they had radish paper.

If I have a chubby cattle membership is it also accepted in yumiyaki as well?

It depends on which membership you have. The Chubby Club One membership ($28 per month) is only good for one restaurant. The Chubby Club Plus membership ($58 per year) will work at all locations, Chubby Cattle and Yumiyaki included.

If I don't like the Sukiyaki, can I change back to Shabu Shabu?

Im sure you cannot do that ..

Do they offer a split pot for both broths?

    NEGATIVE

Is there no reservations between 5pm and 9pm??? I don't see any time offered during that period?

They only offer walk in during peak dining hours, unless you own their NFT.

Does the chubby cattle membership work here? I have the membership for the chubby cattle in Rowland heights

I've been to Yumiyaki about 4 times and my Gold NFT perks was honored every time. But if you had a local membership at a different Chubby Cattle location, then no, you don't have those discount benefits there. So the question is, what kind of Chubby…

Is this what place AYCE only or can you order a la carte?

It's AYCE only. Two different price tiers (Gold and Diamond) and you choose the broth (house/shabu or sukiyaki)

It looks like they take reservations ? Can anyone confirm?

Yes, you can make a reservation on yelp or through google.

Does a membership apply to the whole party when check out?

Local Membership applies to the member + 1 guest. However, multiple members can be part of the party. For example, if you and your friend both have a local membership, then you can get the local membership pricing for up to 4 people total.

How's the wait time in Saturday around 5pm?

Honestly weekday and weekend nights gets very busy, so try to come early or better yet get into their NFT program that helps put you on their priority waitlist.

Best time to join the wait list on a Saturday? Can I join the wait list if I am 20 minutes from my house? Please answer with weekends wait list , not week days wait-list.

No, you can only join within 5 miles

What is base for the broth (ie suitable for a vegetarian?

The broth for the sukiyaki is made of soy sauce, sugar, mirin, and sake. For the Shabu Shabu, it is made of kombucha dashi, both soup base are suitable for vegetarian but they cook the meat in both sukiyaki and Shabu Shabu, so overall saying, this…

How long is the typical wait time on a weekend afternoon. Around 3~4pm?

I went on a weekend (Sunday) afternoon around 4:30pm and waited 3 hours.

    Is there a kid's price?

It's by height, under 100cm is free, 100-130cm is half price, 131cm+ is full price

If I buy your membership on my birthday, could I apply the $38 discount on the same day that I join? And the member price for Gold level is $68 off $38?

No, you have to purchase the membership on a previous day before redeeming your birthday perks. It cannot be the same day. And yes it would be discounted off the member price of whichever tier menu you choose.

How many people for the largest table?

Largest table fits 4. If you have a group of 6 you can get two tables next to each other if they are available, but there is a gap to get in and out between the tables (4 top + 2 top).

Do they have ginger for sushi?

If they do, it doesn't come default.

    Can solo diners eat there?

    Yes

What time does the waitlist close? the restaurant seems to turn it off and on randomly and this makes it difficult to plan for the day?

When you saw the waitlist close, means there is a long line and the waitlist already over booking.

Today, my coworkers finally persuaded me to give it a try since the weather is cooler & I feel very silly now. The exterior and interior decor of this place is on point with the bold red and lanterns. It really sets the mood. Service was exceptional during lunch (wasn't too busy). The staff helped change out dirty plates often. Everything was clean. They were helpful in explaining the AYCE menu. The only problem I experienced is how slow the virtual menu was to load and long buffers between each click. At one point it stopped working to reorder so the waitress had to do it manually anyway. We got the half tomato (light spice) and half spicy soup (mild) base and both were really good! I might upgrade to med next time. The meat quality was great, esp the 1 wagyu plate per person that comes with AYCE. Surprisingly the fatty beef was so tender as well. Even the mala beef didn't hurt going in...or out. The bellflower veggie is a must try. Never had this crunchy vegetable before. Love the self serve bar with so many desserts and Chinese chips options.

We will most likely make the drive out to the Arcadia location in the future. To all the local patrons, please come visit this location before they close and let the staff know how much they will be missed.

Thanks to my son in law we got to try a new spot. How Rowland Heights has changed since the 80's…read more Just love the rich food scene. Be forewarned. Friday and Saturday nights the parking can be very challenging. Once seated service was quick. But here is how it works. You order your broth selection an some premium proteins online. The rest is pretty much self service from the various refrigerators. Seafood, beef tendon, beef with cilantro, gizzards, plenty of mushrooms, and veggies. You select what you want and take it back to your table and immerse in the broth. Feels very cafe style which I just enjoyed. Totally a find. I will be back.

The restaurant advertises All You Can Eat (AYCE), but in reality the selections are quite limited…read more Only vegetables, meat skewers, and soybean-based items (cold tofu, tofu skin, etc) are truly unlimited, and these are self-serve from their fridge at any time. However, SLICED proteins such as sliced ribeye beef, sliced prime USDA beef, and sliced pork are restricted to 3 dishes per order, must be order by request, and are prepared in the kitchen. Portions are small and not sufficient for two or more people. When we tried to order a second round, only two dishes arrived out of the 3. On the third attempt, nothing arrived at all. On top of that, the wait time for sliced proteins was extremely long. While the menu is promoted as AYCE, the service appears to intentionally slow down and limit access to the main protein items, which is misleading and disappointing.

Ever since our favorite shabu spot closed down, we've been hunting for a new go-to, and we finally…read morefound it here. Hands down the best shabu spot around the RH area. The beef quality is top-notch, and everything tastes incredibly fresh. Unlike other AYCE places where appetizers sit out, everything here is made fresh to order. Don't let the 3-round meat limit deter you. we only ordered two rounds and were completely stuffed. Definitely a quality-over-quantity kind of place!

This place has so much potential. I see the vision but it's just not being executed correctly…read more Starting with the good: I think this is the only shabu place ive been to that has seafood boil, unique combination and im all for it. Its included in the "ayce" (one order), and it was good The meats are decent quality, they have a lot of soup base to choose from as well as appetizers. Now, the bad: i went on a Saturday night which is prime time, they only had one server working which meant slow service. Not the server's fault because she was nice and doing her best but come on, hiring an extra body isnt going to break the bank. She was running all over the place. They advertise this as ayce but its really not. You can only order 3 rounds of meat. This is a classic bait and switch tactic. Its 2026, get rid of this and be honest with your customers and in the long run itll benefit you

This place has seriously gone downhill over the years. I used to enjoy coming here for hot pot, but…read moreafter my recent visit, I can confidently say I won't be coming back. They've been cutting corners more and more -- things they used to offer are gone now, and even the atmosphere feels dead. No music, no energy, nothing that makes you want to stay. The food quality has dropped the most. I ordered the pickled cabbage hot pot, and it tasted like plain cabbage boiled in broth -- there was zero sour flavor. It was honestly shocking how off it was. Meat quality below the average and nothing left to order in a hotpot restaurant that tasted good. Service was just as bad. There were barely any staff around, and no one checked on us. When I asked for utensils, the server told me to go grab them myself from the sauce station. That's not service. Overall, this place is just not worth it anymore -- bad food, poor service, and a disappointing experience. It used to be good, but now it's a complete letdown.

I have been here a few times for dinner with each time a different group of friends. The meat is sliced and put around the hot pot. It is unique and I think the pot looks super cool. They have beef, lamb, and different types of seafood to pick from. Service is fast and overall I do enjoy having dinners here.

My family really likes the cold bean noodles dish, really delicious and not so spicy if you pick the right ones. We got split broths but the first time we got the other half spicy and it was a bit too spicy given the weather. So the second time we got only non spicy broth (bone broth and tripe). My dad was surprised how much tripe the broth had and he ate them. The meat is also good quality, I think I would come for the pork belly more than the red meats. The lamb was good, not too gamey. I think I really liked the sausages, they turn to cute octopuses once cooked. We also tried a shrimp paste that had to be mixed and then dropped into the broth scoop by scoop, it wasn't my favorite I think because there's an unusual mushroom flavor overpowering the shrimp. Staff were very attentive sometimes and they are there when you need them but other times you wonder where did they go... I need help... Overall, the sauce station is the places winner, I think I heard more about the snacks than the main hotpot.
