My family and I dined at Mo-Mo-Paradise recently, and we all absolutely loved every single second of it. There were four of us, including my 6 year old nephew, and it turned out to be the ultimate family meal. Since it was my very first time experiencing hot pot, I wanted to go all out and try a bit of everything. So we ordered both the Wagyu Experience and the Mo-Mo Experience, which gave us access to all four delicious broth bases. While waiting for our main meat cuts to arrive at the table, we checked out the self serve area. Their savory Japanese curry is mouthwatering, and they had a cold noodle dish that was super tasty. I had to exert some serious self control not to fill up on the curry before the main event, but it was just so good. Once the meats arrived, my sister showed me how to cook them in the bubbling hot pot. Every single broth had its own unique, rich flavor profile, and every single one was delicious. The quality of the meat here is premium grade, and the marbling on the Wagyu beef was absolutely outstanding. I'd love to see where they source their meats because everything tasted ridiculously fresh, right along with the items at the veggie station where they offer over 20 different vegetables, noodles, and toppings. This place is also a major win for families. My nephew said he actually likes this place way better than Korean BBQ spots because smoke doesn't blow in his face! On top of that, I absolutely love that they offer a kids' achievement incentive for straight A students. It's such a wonderful touch for families. I came here with my family this past weekend. We tried all the soup bases and all the meats. The shabu shabu didn't really taste like anything. Perfect for the person who really wants to taste the flavor of the meat. My order of favorites was 1. Tonkatsu, 2. Sukiyaki, 3. tomato, and 4. Shabu shabu. I highly recommend the Wagyu experience. Heard of the sad news. The end of a beautiful era at the end of this month. My friends and family dine here at least once a month (we even had one time where we dine here 3 times in the same week hosting friends and business lunch). Food quality has always been amazing. Sukiyaki was my personal favorite. Service was astronomically good during the '18% service charge included' era (the staff always earned it). We got to know the staff by name. Want to thank Ronny for making us feel welcome and running this location for all these years. So much love and memories from dining here. This store will be missed. We will most likely make the drive out to the Arcadia location in the future. We come here so often this review is overdue. This is the best hotpot spot for the money probably would be on a top 10 list for all of So Cal. We usually come for lunch and get the mo-mo experience. The meat quality is so high for it not being Wagyu, the rice is freshly made and they offer a wide selection of veggies and sauces. The sukiyaki broth is very strong, I would recommend adding veggies to enhance the flavor and overtime add water to the broth to prevent consuming a lot of sodium since the sukiyaki broth is very concentrated. They offer ice cream at the end of the experience which is a plus. Customer service is always great here I haven't had a bad experience at all in the many times we've been here. I would love to see more locations open in the near future and possibly offer a premium Japanese A5 Wagyu experience. read more

I have 2 hilarious stories about MoMo Paradise. One is that I hung out here with friends who have never eaten shabu shabu before and they just dumped ALL of their meat and veggies in the pot all at once at the start and created a super thick gruel (both of them, unrelated to one another did this) and all I could do was quietly watch in horror and the second instance was when my dad had his first vacation trip to Japan and he was like, look at this restaurant we don't have at home and it was a Shibuya branch of MoMo Paradise. Hilarious times. I gotta take him to this one. This was one of the first ever AYCE shabu shabu places that I visited when our only options were this and Jazz Cat, so it blew my mind back then. AYCE, unlimited drinks (boba and toppings, craft sodas), and curry rice. I'd always get the sukiyaki and I love the goma sesame sauce. They call their veggies and other toppings area the Farmer's Market and swap things out seasonally which is a nice touch. Simple, modern and clean interior. Parking can get a bit busy depending on what time you're visiting but it's nowhere near as bad as the other side of the plaza (which is going to get much worse with the Aldi). Service has always been friendly and efficient when summoning more meat. Broth is flavorful and meat quality is pretty good. No crazy bells and whistles. I came with a party of 7 for a Sunday lunch without making a reservation. We had to wait about 20 minutes which was understandable because we came at around 1 pm with a larger group. The hostess was very nice and the place was clean. Regarding the food, we got the Mo-Mo Experience and I thought that the meat quality was comparable to what I have tried at other Cali AYCE spots at this price point. My favorites were probably the chuck eye and pork shoulder. You can choose two broths. I ended up getting shabu shabu and sukiyaki. Shabu shabu was solid but the sukiyaki was just way too salty. I ended up not dipping any meat in it after the first round because it just overpowered the meat flavor. I was going to make this place 3 stars off the sukiyaki broth alone, but I'm making it 4 stars because I ended the meal trying their beef curry rice at the self-service bar. The last time we came, the service was extremely attentive, and our meat orders were brought to us literally within minutes. My family and I tried the normal menu, which had 3 beef options, 2 pork options, and access to the food bar with vegetables, fish balls, and noodles. I like their Tonkotsu broth base better than their shabu-shabu clear broth. They have variety of veggies, eggs, meat balls, and mushrooms. They also have curry beef to eat with white rice. They provided the cuts of meats as we ordered and meats were fresh and good quality. Vegetables were fresh and clean and I liked that customers were able to get all the side dishes by themselves. I've visited MoMo Paradise over the years and they're one of the establishments that stay consistent in their quality. Their meats always look fresh, there's a plethora of drink options, and the veggie/sauce bar "farmer's market" is clean and constantly restocked. I had a great visit recently, my first server, a woman with glasses provided friendly service. Additionally, there was a male server who was extremely attentive and would replace our broth as it ran out. The only issues I had with my visit was the second server (no glasses) who started to serve us halfway. I noticed that she did not make an effort to serve our table, only when we needed to pay. Usually I know servers are very busy so it might just be the evening, but I noticed she was very helpful to all the other tables next to us so it felt intentional...? Our plates started to crowd our table and she passed us 2-3 times and cleared other tables but ours. There was also another instance where I was trying to scoot back into my booth and she didn't even move an inch for me. I'm not sure why this happened or why our server changed too but her service was completely different. Other than that, this experience won't deter me from never coming to MoMo again, but I'll definitely remember it for next time and be more observant. I've been going to MoMo Paradise for several years-- it's my go-to for AYCE shabu shabu (Japanese hot pot, which is very similar to other AYCE hot pot places in the area like Shabuya). While the MoMo Paradise here doesn't have the same put-togetherness of its Asian counterpart, it's still a very delicious and popular place for AYCE hot pot, especially for its price. It's cheaper around weekday lunch times (around $25 last time I checked, which is quite affordable in this economy). Dinner and weekend prices land around $35, which is also doable. The meat quality at MoMo Paradise is better, which makes hot pot a very enjoyable experience at this location. It's modest but fresh selection of mushrooms (wood ear, enoki, etc.) and vegetables are also a plus. Others enjoy their curry with rice, which is also part of the set price. After cooking your ingredients in your chosen broth, you dip your items in a sauce, followed by a raw beaten egg (it's quality, boasting an orange yolk). This is typical of the shabu shabu experience-- it's quite addictive. You finish your meal with ice cream. Decided to treat ourselves to some nice shabu-shabu and Momo paradise was on our list this time! We were quickly seated and the restaurant was pretty quiet despite how many tables were full. We got directions from our waiter on how the whole restaurant works in terms of our sides as well as the ordering process and the timer for our 2hr meal started. My partner and I enjoyed the many sides available at their "Farmer's Market" and with so much selection, we were a bit overwhelmed at first but eventually got the hang of it. Our meat order arrived shortly after and we got a mix of sukiyaki and miso as our soup base. The meats were fantastic and paired perfectly with our soup and sides. The 2 hours went by fast but by the time we're were given the 15 minute warning, we had already eaten our fill 30 minutes earlier. The hotpot and meat quality is still pretty good (we went for the Wagyu experience), but they were understaffed and the interior has degraded since my last visit 6 years ago. I've been coming here for a while and will continue to go in the future. I think for the value, quality and price, MoMo would be up there (especially in the economy). It's never empty when I see it, since the coworkers are consistenly refilling it. I often get the ramen and udon noodles right by the salad bar. Noodles are *chefs kiss* with the sukiyaki base. There's a beverage option for a seperate price as well. From Yuzu green tea to the soda fountain (shirley temple included), I always get it. There are toppings on the side for the drinks, such as crystal boba and red bean. On the side, there is a curry pot next to salad bar. I've personally never tried itself but my friends get it every time. They said it's worth filling up their tummy with alongside the AYCE. This place doesn't get outrageously loud.
