We waited nearly 2 hours for our table, but time went by quickly because my boyfriend and I played free video games the entire time! Unfortunately, we were not aware that we would have limited time to eat. Instead of 1 1/2 hours, we only had 45 minutes because last call was 9:30. We did feel rushed and were told by someone we would be given extra time, but we were not. Our waiter said the person who seated us was wrong. We still paid full price, which really didn't sit well with me since we weren't able to take our time to choose what we wanted to eat. Instead, we had to rush to order and got full quickly. Why didn't the hostess let us know when we arrived? For $85 a person, I would have gone somewhere else and come back another time to enjoy myself, not feel rushed and made to feel like I was eating desserts and side items that had been out all day. We didn't get to try the Wagyu burgers since there weren't any. Just empty trays. Four or five pieces of dessert to choose from. Not four or five types, just five left. I guess if you go later, they do not put any additional food out. Pretty disappointing, especially with the high cost. Our server, Kenzie, was very friendly and definitely made our night better. Best Chubby Cattle BBQ by far! We went here to celebrate our friends' birthdays and though it was a far drive, it was so worth it! This location beats the ones we've been to. It's so spacious, it's super clean and the sides station was perfect. They even have a dessert station! And the service was great, often checking on us, changing the grill and cooking the meats! Ok now onto to the food. I mean what can I say, the Wagyu selection from the Silver tier offers the most tender meats and the sushi options were also very good! We ordered a little bit of everything so we can try as much stuff as we can possibly consume and it did not disappoint. Trust, order the Wagyu items, try the hand roll sushi, seared salmon and they even have a couple of sashimis! They also have rice dispensers at the sides station - put that in a bowl and pour curry on top and omg, so good! I have now dined at this Chubby Cattle five times now and have dined at over six different Chubby Group establishments. The first two times I visited Chubby Cattle, I was blown away by the interior decorations of the restaurant. The service was exceptional and the food was great. The highlight was that they provided the special kind of wasabi not available in most restaurants. It came with most sushi / sashimi dishes you ordered but upon request, the server provided me with a sizeable amount. As time months went on, my visits at this location became less satisfying. The special wasabi was neither provided on request nor provided with sushi / sashimi orders. The quality of beef tongue became leaner and chewier. The self-serve section with the cold side dishes looked like a mess with the seaweed salad spilling into the sprouts and the sprouts spilling into everything else. This is one of the many notorious Chubby Group restaurants that pushes the client for reviews and memberships. There really is no fending them off. read more

So yummy! Great selection of Wagyu meats. Plus some yummy fried wings and chicken pieces. We really wanted to try the gyoza and kaarage but they were all out. They were also out of some of the platinum cuts of meat so we went with diamond tier. If you're unsure about whatever to get i would say all cuts are delicious. We enjoyed the silver cuts as much as the diamond meats. They offer a variety of drinks including boba and slushies. There are lots of things to add to your dishes like sesame oil, soy sauce, green onion, cilantro, chilli oil etc. I used to hesitate going to Korean bbq because the thought of going out to eat and cooking it myself wasn't appealing to me I'm looking for a day off cooking . Now I understand it's the weekend it is crowded so people get tired. But how come you only get tired to certain table and be happy with selected table maybe because they have higher tier I won't name the waiter so it doesn't affect him but I hope he can see this review. Chubby cattle has been popular for its service and food. I really am sad and disappointed that we don't have the same service attitude because of the tier we chose. WOW. that's how i feel about this place LOL. we came to Chubby Cattle for the first time for our anniversary and it didn't disappoint. we made a reservation for 6pm and were sat on time! note though: the parking here SUCKS! it's a whole center so there is a lot of parking, but it does get very busy during peak hours (especially on weekends), and you will be circling for a bit to find some! so just plan accordingly with timing :) we did the gold tier for $75/person, and honestly it gave you everything you needed!! including their hot bar of all the foods!! i can't even remember what they had bc i was just living in the moment and it felt like meat heaven! Finally got to come and have lunch here. My friend has a membership and we got a discount of $8 per person as we purchased the silver tier. The restaurant was definitely not anything I ever imagined. They have a sitting area where you can play games; there is a section just for take-out drinks. The actual seating area for dine in is pretty big and can accommodate any number in size for group dining. Food is ordered through a monitor which is pretty cool; don't have to wait for a server. The quality of meat is top quality. As the saying goes, "You get what you pay for," and you definitely do. My favorite was the brisket. Having milk teas as drinks is a nice touch as well. I've never had a $64.00 (Tax and tip included) lunch but for a first time experience, it was well worth it. I ate so much meat that I was full for 3 days. Lol. Will come back again. read more

Finally able to try it for the first time. Me and my three kids got the gold membership and we did the annual membership as well. Quality of the meats were mix- some were really tender, some a bit difficult to enjoy even though it was cooked medium. I ordered some of the sushi items and the raw fishes were fresh. So you could order in 7 minutes interval for food ordering. Our fault was, we ordered too little at a time (it was our first time), and the portion came out very little, and it took 7 min to re ordered and even that, took a while to get our next batch of order. I ordered the sukiyaki pot during our second round of ordering, and it came out 6 minutes before our time was done - you only had 70 min seating down time. I observed other tables, they were pro bruh, they ordered what they like in 7 plates, 5 plates, so they got enough for the first round. Our server was awesome, we got seated at 5 pm when the restaurant was just opened (with yelp reservation at 5 pm). Our server was attentive, but after 520 pm ish, he was busy with other tables and we had to struggle asking for the fire to be turned down/ to ask for forks, etc. The unlimited drinks also not as flattering. I just felt that it made us full faster and enjoyed less meat. For above $300 meals, I felt that the glass should be real glass, not disposable cup and would be nice for more desserts variety. My daughter, 11 yrs old, only eating edamame, seaweed, rice and kimchee, so that was a huge waste for the full price meal. So for the price, I thought it was a bit much with the time spent, quality of meat and serving time. Especially for family with little kids. I am back at my favorite Chubby Cattle BBQ restaurant to celebrate. This time, I noticed it changed how we ordered the food. Now there is a TV screen where you can place your order. Our dining experience started with something we didn't expect. The stove was not working. No matter how hard the server tries. The worker was quick to work on a resolution. He moved us to a different table. However, the new TV screen ordering system didn't work. The server himself tried, and the manager tried again. The TV screen order system still couldn't work. But our server works the magic and orders the food for us. So, he came by often to check on us and ordered our food and drinks. This made up for the unfortunate TV and stove problems. Walking in, I was amazed by how nice the restaurant looked. From the cute games in the waiting area, to the decorations, the ambiance was amazing! Service was also top tier. I wish I got the name of our server but he was amazing as well as all of the other staff. He went out of his way to ensure we got points in the app, and made the whole process super easy. Dropped in early when they opened at 11:30, saved myself the never ending queue for a table. Even then, there was about 6 tables before I even got to sit. Our server was fresh for the day and helped us with some of our meats to avoid overcooking some delicate cuts, which is always welcomed. Lot of options to pick from and everything came out relatively quickly. Although we didnt have issues with most of the stuff that came, we do recommend against ordering the lobster roll and bibimbap. Those two werent the smartest items to get in a bbq place hahah. Anyway, we couldn't stop eating and our 90mins were up before we knew it. Don't forget to use the special salt! Came here to celebrate a special occasion with my partner and my mom an early Mother's Day plus my partner graduating, so it felt like a double celebration! Since we've heard how long the wait times can get, we decided to come on a Wednesday and made a reservation ahead of time. That definitely helped, we only waited about 10 minutes before being seated. This was our first time at this Chubby Cattle location, and it completely changed our perspective. Our previous experience at the Rosemead/San Gabriel location wasn't great and honestly ruined the vibe for us, but this visit was the total opposite. The atmosphere here was lively and energetic in a good way, exactly what we expected from Chubby Cattle. Our server, Steven, was fantastic! Super attentive, friendly, and helpful throughout the entire experience. He even took the time to show us how to cook the brisket to a perfect medium rare, which we really appreciated. We went with the Gold option, which felt like a great value for everything included. There were unlimited drinks, a variety of appetizers, vegetables, and even wagyu sliders to enjoy while waiting for our main items. Ordering is done through a tablet at the table, which is convenient, but one thing to note: there's a 7-minute wait between orders, and you can order up to 10 items at a time. We didn't realize this at first and accidentally "wasted" our first order by only selecting one item, definitely something to keep in mind! Overall, the food was really good, but we did run into one issue. One of the dishes we ordered was extremely salty...so much so that I couldn't even eat it. Steven immediately apologized and mentioned that others had also complained about the meat being overly salted that day. While it wasn't his fault at all, it did affect my taste for the rest of the meal since the saltiness lingered. That said, aside from that one dish, everything else was enjoyable, and the overall experience was great. Came here to celebrate a birthday and Brandon did a great job taking care of us! He entertained us the whole night and made sure the meats kept coming LOL. We did the silver tier and signed up for the membership, getting not only a discount but also a free drink. The selection even for silver was really solid, and we were all stuffed by the end of the night. The wagyu nigiri was def a crowd favorite-- thank you to the kitchen for pumping these out for us! I think they've recently changed their tablet ordering to be stationary rather than a moving iPad, which I have mixed feelings about since the people at the other end of the table couldn't order. That being said, I think the stationary tablet was way cleaner than the iPad LOL. My only complaints were that for a table of 8, the booth was pretty cozy and we could only order 10 items at a time (which is the same for a smaller size party). A mini arcade and a spacious bar in the front. The beer and sake selections were decent but no hard liquor. We decided on a bottle of 720ml cold sake and some Asahi draft beers. The cocktail I tried was too sweet though. We chose the platinum menu with our discounted membership prices. The special meat selections were great. I liked the Argentina shrimps and tom yum seafood soup. Hand rolls were fresh and yummy. The lemon sparkling water was very refreshing. They have a lot of food items, much more than other chubby restaurants we have visited. Not sure who can sample all that foods unless they are very hungry. I am not a big fan of BBQ. We came here for a friend's birthday celebration over the weekend. Since we came right when it opened it wasn't too long of a wait to get a table. I think it was 20mins before our party got seated. The inside was spacious and had many tables. Inside when you first walk in there are cases where they display the beef cuts. In the other side past the hostess area is a small arcade. Along the back side is the tea station for different milk teas and drinks. In the middle where is where all the side dishes and veggies area is. We got seated closer to the back. Our waiter Jackson walked us through how to order and started us with a selection of meats while we went to look at the various side dishes and condiments area. He was attentive and came back to make sure we got our grill changed and to occasionally cook our meats for us. It was really good and a lot of food. We did the gold package and it was $79 a person. They have a lot of options outside of the meat that you cook. Everything was great. They did not have ice in their ice machine so that was a bummer. It was also really hot inside because of the grills. Luckily my friend had looked up their lunch hours (11:30-3) and noted the last call (2:30) since they close before dinner starts up at 5. This place was enormous and there's two tiers for an annual membership that the slightly discounted member pricing for two. Luckily my friend had signed up previously and we ended up going with the gold tier since we wanted some sushi. Your entire party will need to be present prior to seating in which our server would stop by to scan her app to set up our kiosk to order. Major props to our server (hoping it's Brandon per our receipt)!! His recommendations were on point and he had a super friendly, positive demeanor despite the lunch rush. We also learned they were trying a one server lunch shift this past week and it seems two is definitely needed during high peaks. You're only able to order 10 items at a time with a waiting period in between. There were a few self serving stations scatted around which included the average soda machine, desserts (egg/cheese tarts, swirl cake slices), vegetables (the garlic enoki was amazing), dipping sauce, wagyu/curry rice station, and appetizers. 10/10 would go back. read more

She was also really nice and she did her best to explain everything (cause it was my first time here). We are chubby members and we usually dine in the one in downtown LA, but this was our first time going to the Rowland Heights location. We had such a great time with great vibes, great service, and great food as always. They have a beautiful bar area and play all the current R&B songs. It was nice that they had free arcade games to play while you wait to be seated. We did the diamond menu and of course we attacked all of the specialty dishes first. Our server was awesome and knowledgeable and we loved watching the little robot servers bring plates around. We did feel like the location was a little bit crowded and was glad that we didn't have the tables that were near the self-serve bars. There are plenty of options for drinks, side, dishes, and sauces that you could help yourself to. We especially loved the Boba and milk tea that was self-serve. Chubby cattle always has great cuts of meat that are always super tender! Our server cooked all of the diamonds level meats for us to perfection. We were surprised this time around to have the Tom Yum hot pot that was so well seasoned and it had plenty of seafood! The only weird thing we experienced at this location was that they have a 90 minute time limit when they see you, however, midway through the meal our server told us that actually you have 70 minutes of ordering and then the last 20 minutes is to sit and enjoy your meal and have desserts. We had a table of seven and it felt a little rushed for having seven people order within 70 minutes. The other thing we didn't like was that for seating seven people we still only had one grill to work with. The location in downtown LA seats six people with two grills, which is better for people who are eating different options and making your time limit. However, our server was super chill and understanding that we had such a large group and only working on one grill so he still was able to place more orders for us from his computer screen until we hit our 90 minutes. I was pretty disappointed with my experience at Chubby Cattle. The two hosts were very rude and gave us attitude when we checked in. They told us our table would be ready in exactly one minute, but we ended up waiting over five minutes with no explanation or apology. What made it even more frustrating was that there were two open tables the whole time. We were a large party, and instead of explaining the situation politely, they didn't seem to acknowledge us. We were eventually told those tables were reserved, but better communication and a friendlier attitude would have gone a long way. I understand that reservations need to be honored and that wait times can change, but the poor customer service and unprofessional attitude left a bad impression.
