Dinner | $60-70 Chef was wonderful. We sat at the grill because there were only two of us, and the hostess asked where we wanted to sit. We chose the grill. We let the waiter no what we wanted to eat. He didn't tell us we both had to order hibachi to sit at the grill. Which I have went there several times and not ordered on the grill bc of my allergies. My friend ordered hibachi with chicken and shrimp. She can eat shrimp, but she cannot have onions because of an allergy. She also ordered sushi.I ordered a few appetizers and a side order of vegetables only, because I am allergic to shrimp. I can have onions. We clearly told the waiter:My friend cannot have onionsI cannot have shrimpAnd I only wanted a side of veggies, not hibachi. The waiter didn't write anything down. He came back with salad and soup fo us both. I repeated it that I only want side of veggies bc I had ordered appetizers and bc of my allergies. and he said, "Okay, I got you."When the chef came to cook, I told him again that I only needed a side of vegetables because of my shrimp allergy. The chef understood, but the plate he was given had shrimp and onions together, even though our allergies were opposite.The chef immediately apologized and fixed it. He made sure a separate side order of vegetables--just the veggies I requested--was brought out safely to the table. I asked again is this just a side of veggies for me and he said yes. He then cooked the shrimp last to avoid cross‑contamination. Once he knew the situation, he handled everything perfectly.When I told the waiter the ticket was wrong, he acted like he had already told me it would be full price. I reminded him again that I ordered only a side of veggies, and he finally corrected it.I let the front desk know that waiters need to write allergies down. Instead of apologizing, she tried to blame us because there were two people at hibachi. I explained that hibachi or not, you never bring allergens to people who have clearly stated their allergies. She then began arguing about it. Blaming it was because we were at the grill. I'll let her know whether you got the grill or not it makes no difference if you brought it even to the table. The younger person that was standing beside her pulled her back to get her to be quiet. I think the younger person knew that they messed up. This was a very bad experience for me and everyone I went with. I will start with the worst part, which was the lack of urgency. I am not lying when I say we sat in that restaurant for an hour and a half before the food came out. We would have left way sooner, but we had already received soup and salad; however, it took over 30 minutes just for that. I am very disappointed with how slow the service was. The really upsetting thing is that they were not busy whatsoever, so I have no clue why it took over an hour and a half for the chef to show up. The next thing I would like to focus on is the food quality. The food quality was nothing more than terrible; it was awfully upsetting. I asked for hibachi shrimp specifically with no vegetables, and I received vegetables on my plate. The overall taste of the food was poor, too. It had an indescribable flavor with just too much and too little of everything, and after I tried it, I tried to mask the taste with the sauce, but that didn't do anything; if anything, it made it worse. The rice was soupy and just unpleasant. I also tried their sushi, and I am more than dissatisfied. It tasted terrible, and I usually love sushi. I also tried the California roll, and that was slightly better but was still bad. The only good part of this visit was the overall atmosphere of the place. I was pleased with the ambiance of this restaurant; they are always kind and celebrate very well. I don't like talking about this because it's 2026 but I was targeted. I sat down and waited 10 - 15 mins before a waiter came to me. Then a family that wasn't of my skin tone came in and they were seated and had a waiter immediately. Didn't get my drink till after the other family came in then they didn't even take my order until after the family that came in 10-15 mins after me they also got their food way before i did. Other family's came in and got their food before me. At this point I was sitting there for 45 mins to an hour. Also the waiter completely ignored me for most of the time I was there. First time going to this place since moving to GA. My boyfriend and I had dinner there tonight. The waitress was openly racist to us. We can only assume she thought my bf was from India and would not leave a decent tip or something. She was smiling and the service was good to the white couples at the table right near us and sullen when she had to deal with us. It was too obvious to miss or misinterpret. I'm giving two stars because of her only. With the other couples she took their glasses and refilled their drinks. With us she brought the drink over in a separate cup and poured it into our glasses. God forbid she should touch our glasses! The place was nice enough and the person who prepared our meal was also pleasant and the meal he prepared for us was good. But as far as our waitress was concerned we were treated as if we were a nuisance. At the end of our meal she was handing out plastic bags for to go boxes. She dropped one of the bags on the floor and tucked it under her arm and gave the other 3 couples the bags she had left. When she got to us she looked at the bag under her arm and without missing a beat she gave it to us. For the record my bf is NOT from India and he left a nice tip because he didn't want everyone else to lose out on a tip because of this Asian young woman. Waited an hour for the chef to start cooking. Watery, oddly tasteless salad dressing. Everything was overcooked to the point of being crunchy. Then we get the bill and have been double charged for my 9 year old's kids meal. We thought it was a simple mistake and asked for the bill to be fixed and the manager at first says we have to specify that we want a kids meal?? Then, I kid you not; he told us he would only refund us, if my daughter vomited up her portion. I have never experienced such horrible customer service. Negatively reviewing any business feels wrong to me, because I know at the end of the day they're people trying to make a living just like I am.. but with that being said, its not fair for someone to be served sub-par food and wasting their money. For the last several years this place has locally been considered disgusting. There were several posts of roaches, unsanitary conditions, etc. I didn't eat there for a while because of it. Within the last year or two they claimed to be under new management (which I feel like is really just a way to scapegoat the failures). Anyways, after their announcement, we ordered and ate here a few times. What we would get from the grill was decent, but really fell short of other grills in the Chattanooga area, and we ultimately were just choosing convenience over quality. They began holding grills until they were completely full, or rearranging parties to completely fulfill each grill before ordering, increasing wait times to 45mins+ before ordering, and sometimes over an hour before they began cooking. Because of that, and the value of eating privately, we began eating in the normal dining area, however we noticed immediately that the quality of food was much worse that what you received at the grill. We understand that there is a higher wait time from a dish cooked in the kitchen of a restaurant vs what is cooked on a grill in front of you, however this was worse than that. In the 3 or so times of eating in the dining area, the chicken, veggies, and rice all came out near room-temp. The rice was stale, almost hard to chew, the chicken was extremely dry and the "sauce" was tacky almost like caramel. The steak at this point was the only thing remotely fresh, and I believe thats because it had to be cooked to order. We eventually just decided to ask to have the food cooked fresh. We could tell the food had been bulk cooked that morning or the day prior and was likely just sitting in a hot plate, resulting in the lack of texture and taste. The server asked the manager, and the manager shook their head no, almost frustrated by the question. The food came old cold-cold this time, and we basically ate what we could, paid, and left. Not gonna be the white trash Karen spark a scene in a Hibachi grill on a Sunday morning, especially for people who don't ultimately care how their work and food is perceived. I feel like a Karen for this whole thing honestly, but its the best way I know to warn someone. The food even at its best isn't great, and the people working there don't even care to strive for half of that. Drive the extra 10mins and go to Fuji, Hana, or Ichiban. read more

The staff here is amazing. My friends and I go here often and we do not even have to open our mouths. They immediately welcome us with smiles, show us to our table, and the server brings our drinks without us even having to tell him what we want! I heard they run people's cards for the wrong ticket and added things to people's check,but I wanted to give it a try.Went with a party so we had 2 hibachi chefs.One half of the party had checks before the other half had all their food.I thought it would save time just to give the server my card.But,of course,when I went to sign I saw it was wrong.She voided it and ran my card again,but I didn't have enough in my account. Kevin: sushi chef My husband and I come here once a week since we've found this hidden gem a couple of months ago. The first time we had the hibachi and it was great. Since then, we have started to sit at the sushi bar with Kevin, and the rest is history. He is a very experienced sushi chef from New York and makes a mean and delicious roll. Our usual order is the snow mountain roll which is superb with fried shrimp tempura, avocado, and spicy grab and spicy mayo and eel sauce. It is amazing. Also, we always get 2 house salad with ginger dressing, peppered ahi tuna, and the California roll. This pace is a gem, and the staff are great. It is always packed for lunch and dinner on the weekend so my husband and I like to come at non peak hours after the lunch/dinner rush. Our server today was Shelby, and she did a top notch job. As always, Kevin is a great sushi chef and always keeps us entertain when we sit at the sushi bar with him :) I highly recommend you give this place a try. read more

We normally eat here about one a month however this trip was horrible and after what i spent i can't guarantee I'd be willing to spend this money again The "chef" didn't appear to know what he was doing he cooked 2 steaks then actually walked off and left (while food was on the grill cooking) for a good 4 or 5 minutes came back cooked shrimp then the last steak and chicken before finally serving the vegetables which from just setting to the side in a pile were VERY poorly cooked after leaving my wife and son both mentioned there chicken tasted horrible while my steak wasn't the best tasting either read more

This restaurant is a standalone building in a strip mall so parking is not an issue. It is in many ways a typical Japanese Hibachi style restaurant here in the U.S. What I found a little unique and cute in many ways was the décor when you walk in. A semi outside area with tables and a somewhat private and in the main restaurant there is a an area with unique wood tables and benches (I should have taken a picture) and a small bar which has a lighted top. They have both sit down tables and booths along with the typical Hibachi area where they cook the food in front of you. We ordered a steak and a chicken Hibachi style dinner in a booth. The food was flavorful, plentiful and in fact we could have shared on meal between us. It came with a clear soup and small salad. As always I had a beer but they did not have any on draft so had a bottle beer... Please don't let Old Chicago know LOL.... My date had a Margarita and loved it stating it was one of the best in the area.... Great place to bring a date or family and prices are very reasonable. The only irritating thing was the recording of Happy Birthday because it seemed to play a lot at tables and one time I think it got stuck but overall I think it is worth the drive. We ate dinner there last night and this place has gone down hill. This is sad, because it used to be one of our favorite Japanese steak houses in the area. The first thing I noticed was that they did not serve the usual two shrimp "appetizer" with every meal. Also, they have stopped serving the complimentary ice cream after dinner. The worst part was when the chef served our steaks. My wife had a different kind of steak, but our two daughters and I ordered filets (as part of our hibachi combos). Everything else was fine, but when the filets we're served, mine tasted aweful. Like the meat was spoiled. I stopped my daughters from eating and tasted theirs (my wife tasted too). Their filets we're spoiled. The lady next to us also had a filet. She said that her's was also bad. I got up immediately and got the hostess and asked her to get the manager so she could stop the chef and check the food. I went back to the table and the chef, who was concerned, tried a piece of the meat. He also said it was bad. He asked for four new filets that he had cut that day. He cooked them and they were fine, but by then, my stomach was not up to eating anymore. The manager never came by to talk to us or apologize for the spoiled steaks. There was no acknowledgement of the spoiled food that was served to us other than the chef asking for someone to bring new filets to cook. It is highly doubtful that we will ever go back. read more

12/13/19 The service was alright, but to spend 50$ on a meal (hibachi steak,and 3 sushi rolls), we received enough food but the quality of the food was poor. The tempura and other sushi we order had about the quality and consistency of dog food wrapped in rice and deep fried, and it tasted soured. It had a very nice presentation but the quality but did not taste up to the looks of it. We would have said something to the waiter, but we didn't get our sushi until much later after our meal, and he quickly dropped off our ticket and never came back around because he was conversing with a woman across the room. I was hoping that my fiancée and I would have a better experience than this since you all closed for quite a while to fix a health score issue, but unfortunately it wasn't. We would be willing to give it another try but not until the quality of the food and service improve. read more

Let me start off by saying I really like the food here. I like Hibachi places and this one is pretty decent and 5 minutes from my house. Tonight, I wanted to come here for my Birthday dinner. We got seated around a table satisfactorily so everyone could talk and they had us move, so "we could get our food faster." We ended up all in a line where we can't talk or anything and half of us will be behind the chef. Then, to top it off, an Asian family got seated in the spots we were asked to give up. Is it just me? My wife and I were meeting friends for Christmas lunch in Fort Oglethorpe. After discovering a 40 minute wait at IHOP and not wanting to eat there anyway, I called Kobe to see how things were. No wait!!! Given that it was Christmas day, I didn't expect much in the way of service or food. Wow! I was surprised. The service was top notch and the food was delicious. We had the Chicken Hibachi Dinner and Steak Hibachi Dinner. These came with soup, salad, and ice cream. Our glasses stayed full and the food was great! This was a real treat on a day when I expected to find people who didn't want to be at work doing a marginal job at any place we went. We will definitely return. read more

Have been here several times and always enjoy it. The ambiance is only medium, as the decor feels a bit hodgepodge and the place doesn't really have much character. Fortunately the food is quite good. The hibachi experience is fun, though those wanting more privacy or a quieter experience can opt for a separate non-hibachi dining area. I've tried the steak, chicken, and shrimp and enjoyed all. The hibachi meals come with salad with a tasty house dressing, soup (basically broth), vegetables, fried rice, and meat of your choice. Portions are really big and the fried rice and veggies are flavorful. The chefs are skilled and do a few hibachi tricks that the kids (and I) enjoy. Some of the chefs are less engaging than others, but I've found that they tend to respond to groups that interact with them. Value varies widely depending upon day & time of your visit. Weekday lunch specials are the best value and are very reasonable (the hibachi filet mignon lunch is a great deal for $10). Evening and weekend prices are higher, with the dinner rates being the most expensive. Overall Kobe is a nice local choice for Japanese cuisine. The atmosphere won't win any awards, but the food is delicious, the service is good, and the hibachi is always fun and especially reasonable for lunch. read more

If you have a menu problem satisfy the customer then correct your mistake it's not the customers fault. Most all restraints do this but not the case here.
